Nice vid! I just bought Slammo a few days ago just based on budget and having seen reviews that the two were similar enough. I'd be curious to see the updated version and may wind up picking it up someday if Slammo fails me. Bonus points for Slammo's amazing customer service though, one of my net clips broke and they sent me three new replacements within two days! *constructive feedback on the video: Really well edited and everything was explained clearly and easily understood. The shots were great and I really appreciated the care that went into the editing. However, the script was well planned out all the way up until the ending. It seemed like Slammo and Spikeball were pretty neck-in-neck till the last sentence and it caught me off guard when you dismissed Slammo as a "cheap knock off" and lumped it in with Battle Bounce. The video also felt like it ended mid-thought. A conclusion and final thoughts about who might buy each of the sets would have been a nice thing to leave us with. Even an invitation to come back and check out more of your vids would have been a welcome way to end the vid. Just some thoughts, overall nice job!

Really good analysis of the three. Although I haven't seen the third one anywhere, I've started to see some Slammo nets popping up at beaches. The material it is made out seems way less sturdy than Spikeballs net, and the balls feel a lot more awkward, especially the larger one. Also, as hard as Slammo may try, it will not beat Spikeball's community. The people who work for Spikeball are extremely nice and helpful when it came to the local tournaments we set up, as they sent us things like shirts, sets, etc. A Spikeball set may cost 20 bucks more than a Slammo set, but I totally agree with the fact that you get what you pay for with these products. #jointhemovement
I agree with everything except the Slammo training ball is amazing. It is way easier to play with and extremely helpful for teaching others. Spikeball can be really difficult for brand new people and that training ball makes the it way easier to show people how to play. It might mess up your game if you play with it right before a tournament, but I adapt back within 5 minutes. Spikeball should learn from the knockoff version and add a training ball.
I had Franklin's Spyderball in my cart, but decided to check out some comparative reviews first. While Spyderball isn't included in your review, I did see enough to make me question buying a less expensive version of the original and will most likely just hang tight for a bit and purchase Spikeball. Thanks for the great comparison. I just picked up Battle Bounce just cuz it was half the price of Spikeball, but I think I don't even have to open it now & will return it. Curious if Slammo has the same interlocking rim to leg cut which prevents the legs from moving and collapsing like Spikeball's? Though the new Spikeball v.3 with intentionally fold-down legs looks really great, on top of the built-in net-hooks. Maybe still worth spending the $60 for something with a life-time warranty wow!

Thanks for the great video comparison. My 9yo grandson wants one of these sets for Christmas so have been doing some research. I've been leaning toward Slammo due to the price, of course, but also the color and name, as I think the name "Slammo" sounds more fun, etc. and I think the green color is more pleasing to the eye. I wouldn't buy it solely for the name, however, and am now considering getting Spikeball v.3. My suggestion would be to have some kids shown playing on each of the sets and then get their unbiased opinions of how each plays and which one they like. It seems like all the ads & videos I see are 18+ guys playing. Would like to see how it is for the younger ones. Also, can you clear up which one was actually the original, Slammo or Spikeball? One of the commenters says that Slammo was actually the original.
I'm going to purchase the spike ball setup. I'm just curious about the built in clips which hold the net in place. If one breaks off say, because someone falls on the net, wouldn't that mean having to replace the whole ring piece? They better be pretty strong.
They are damn strong man, was just at a tournament where a team member completely fell on the net with his whole body weight, not only was everything okay, the guy just picked up the net and it sprang back in place and they kept playing like nothing, it was awesome
So basically slammo is the best value. However for double the price spikeball will replace anything that breaks. And you have the official name brand version if you get spikeball.
Spikeball is the original - the rest are TRASH! They are copycats and they do not deserve your purchases. Reward creativity, ingenuity and the risk that spikeball took to get where they are.

Any tiny thing different in the design and manufacturing process will get around a patent infringement claim.
