  • This one started promising, but left a bit to be desired toward the end.

I love when people do series reviews. It's nice to hear if a series starts out well, but to hear how the whole series is in one video is great!
    Thanks for the review!

Probably the series of his I'll get to first (either that or the Corax one) but I really enjoyed The Folding Knife and I've a few of his other standalones on deck.

I keep hearing about The Folding Knife so I think I'll definitely go for that one next!

I really like the first book, the second book was actually my favorite (mainly because of its overall noir like tragedy and the way the Amin character got played) but I did not care for the 3rd book at all.

@@cactcab Yeah the first book was my favorite as well! I did enjoy them all to some degree, but it was a sliding scale for me for sure

If you did not like the first book, it's definitely not a series to continue for sure!

I largely enjoyed bk 1 even if I wasn’t super invested in it. I haven’t yet picked up the sequels because of the exact fear that you seem to be confirming about it being very same-y.

I think some distance between reading them should help to an extent, but yeah they did just largely feel too similar overall
