Being MISdiagnosed with Mental Disorders | Girls & Aspergers | Social Stigma

Many girls with high functioning autism are misdiagnosed with mental disorders instead of autism, and it is harmful! I’m trying to derail the social stigma surrounding high functioning autism & Aspergers.

It's such a common problem. I've talked about it a lot, and it's hurt me a lot. As it does. It needs to stop .. and pure discrimination as well as ignorance .. and sometimes even just cognitive dissonance!

I too was 'diagnosed' with the hypomania type! as well as BPD and all that .. and yes, mood changes abound, because we *feel* deeply. Exactly! .. and omg your experience with what happened with that endocrinologist *infuriates* me for you! I have gone through similar. It is beyond rude how these people think they are the *gall* to do this kind of thing. Very disrespectful, ignorant and arrogant.
