Grieving a parent is so hard. I lost my dad in March of last year. My dog had passed away a year and a half ago, too. I, too, am an empty nester. My husband surprised me with a puppy about 4 months after my dad passed away. This dog is now the young prince and helped with some difficult days. I can already see Lumpy is doing the same for you! PS- I hadn’t had a puppy in over 15 years and it is a lot of work, but we have a sweet pup who loves sleeping all night in his crate and is bell trained to go outside! ❤
I'm so so sorry. I know it's such a hard time for you all. But Lumpy came into your life at the perfect time. I'm sure he adds a bit of light to the dark days.

Oh sweet little Lumpy! I hope he is filling a little bit of the hole left in your heart from losing your dad. The one year anniversary of my dad's passing is next month and it's still a bit raw. Pets are the best therapy. I lost my last pet in February. She was a sweet almost 20 year old kitty and I miss her terribly but have decided after 35 years of having a pet to take a break because I travel so much. It's really so hard not having her to talk to during the day when my husband's at work since I've been an empty nester for almost 10 years now and she was such company to me. Thank you for sharing him with all of us. I miss seeing your sweet Lucky and LuLu and will now look forward to getting to see Lumpy grow. Hope you and your family are doing well. ~Brenda~

I’m sorry for your loss of your dad. I lost mine two years ago and it’s not easy. The grief kind of stays around for awhile. I’m thinking that I need a puppy-holding them is therapy that is unmatched.

Congratulations on the new addition.. puppies are like infants.. then toddlers.. I have a 4.5 month old black lab/golden retriever mix - got him in January after unexpectedly losing our boy at 12 in July after a cancer surgery. it’s been 12.5 years and I forgot what it was like to have a puppy. Love, excitement and joy.. Happy house training… ❤

You have my dog exactly. I got him at that exact age but then he got Parvo 🤦🏻♀️
I nursed him back to health round the clock. I even slept with him in the enclosure.
He is 4 years old now and is a super happy excited little guy. Because of the brown color they have now as puppies, my kids wanted to call him mocha 😁. Somehow that name didn’t stick and we ended up with Frankie instead. Well it’s a good thing we didn’t call him mocha because right now 4 years later he looks like a latte 😂 nothing like a mocha. His hair will get so light it’s amazing. He looks like a different dog then when he was a puppy.
