I think they were laughing because they didn’t expect it and it’s pretty funny when you are not expecting that and you don’t know the context. Well... about the performance, Shakira (Colombian) sang with Bad Bunny (Puerto Rican), and she danced to many different genres, including some very representative of the Carnaval de Barranquilla (and you could even see some of the representative colorful masks, as the “congo”, “torito” and more.). She did a little bit of Belly Dancing, Reggaeton, Rock, etc. JLo (Puerto Rican) started with her most famous songs, and was later joined on stage by J Balvin (Colombian). Later on, JLo’s daughter joined them on stage and sang too. In the End, after the Waka Waka, Shakira danced to a type of dance called Champeta, which is a representative dance from Cartagena, Colombia. And in the end, JLo was joined on stage by Swing Latino, a salsa group from Cali, Colombia (world’s capital for salsa dancing), and former contestants on World of Dance.

She like rock music, but her first album couldn’t be full rock because it wouldn’t sold in Latin America. That’s why her music became a bit of pop rock and that’s how she was able to sell into the English market. She also make music from other cultures and she does it perfectly, that’s why she’s an international superstar.
Beyonce and JLo fans don't seem to know that Shakira is actually a bigger global star than either of them and has been so for a while.

Second, when Shakira dance salsa she danced puertorrican salsa and then JLo danced salsa caleña that it came from Cali, Colombia. And yes, Shakira is a complete musician. She can play guitar, drums and piano; and dance and sing. JLo’s daughter was the one in the cage and sing in her show for the first time.

Shakira used the "I like It" hook just for the performance...Cardi B had sampled (she cant take the whole credit) the hook from 'Pete Rodriguez'...The song was released back in 1967 as a more latin based song. Cardi slapped beats and rap ontop of it....NOTHING IS ORGINAL THESE DAYS HARDLY.
