FYI to any current or future nurse watching this. I'm a new graduate nurse right now. Don't feel like you have to buy the unnecessary stuff. Nursing school is expensive without all the extras.
Your professor is not going to remember your name from your water bottle. They'll remember your name from the questions you ask and your critical thinking skills.
I recommend keeping lists in one place. If you have lists in a million different places it will become overwhelming very quickly and you may forget things.
Practice questions are one of the best ways to study for exams once you get the basic information down.
Thanks for sharing your opinions! I encourage you to remember that everyone experiences things differently. I have had great success keeping my name on my water bottle and having lists in multiple places does work for me! Good luck in your future career!
You are so right!! I’m now done with second semester and I can say MOST of the stuff I purchased prior to starting I didn’t even use. My stethoscope and pen light and a huge binder and paper. Pen, pencils and my textbook. That’s all I have used. All the extras are not necessary. I hope néw Students know you don’t need to spend all the money. Also nursing school is a shock, make sure you study daily do NOT wait until last minute and keep your notes organized. Having all this fancy stuff won’t make you pass. I learned that very quickly! Also waste of money if you end up not passing, a lot of people don’t.
@@dominique573n9 Ive seen alot of comments on other videos and just videos on your comment, I think people just go crazy with buying all this stuff b/c theyre so excited lol but i have seen that alllll this stuff is unnecessary. BUT they're sooo cute lol
@@misselaine2144 they are definitely cute and I agree 💯. When you first find out you got accepted into a nursing program it’s so exciting! But now that I’m in the program i can see none of it is needed. In fact it’s a huge waste of money. How badly would you feel if you failed and bought all this stuff? Lol my suggestion is graduate and THEN buy everything bc then you will actually be a nurse 🤣🤣
Just a heads up for anyone watching this that is going into nursing school.. you can get great used textbooks online usually through the uni. School can be expensive so it’s always a good idea to get things used when possible and ask others which books are ACTUALLY essential. Also the app “medscape” can be used instead of a Davis drug guide :)

Hi! What do you think of the Nursemates Align Velocity? Looking for shoes and being quite picky about them....I like the fact that these shoes have no logos or signs on them....Thanks!
Once you are a nurse, if you would like to wear crocs I would recommend the ones without holes. Personally, I would not recommend them because of the amount you are on your feet, but I do work with girls that do wear crocs everyday. I could never do it, I wear nike sneakers in navy blue. I had the generic walmart white sneakers for clinical because of the uniform.

Hey Mariah! I got the SVGs from Cricut Access! I think I just typed in nurse and it popped up the nurse cap and I used my own text underneath! And yes the comfort colors are from amazon! Super cheap! I was the same way when I got mine! Watch a bunch of TH-cam videos! It helps!

This is a dumb question, but I noticed how your shoes are white...would your school ever ask you to wear a white dress/scrubs & a nurses' cap when you graduate or attend a clinical?
Thank you! There are no dumb questions! I ask a lot of them! Our school requires us to wear white shoes for a more professional look and uniformity through my class. Our scrubs are navy and we are do not wear scrub caps. I’m unsure what graduation would look like but I assume you could wear whatever you wish! So for clinical wear the navy scrubs and white shoes! Hope this helps!

Interesting how different things are in the USA vs Scotland when doing nursing.

@@futurenursedestiny3749 we do either 3 years or 4 years at University. They supply our uniform for us, we do not need to buy books unless you want to own a copy, nor stethoscopes etc. We do need wipe clean shoes for placements, most unis do not need you to wear uniform unless you are on an actual placement. We also have to pick our area to qualify in when we apply, so adult, child, learning disability, midwifery or mental health.
That is very different than my school specifically in the US! I’m sure all schools are different though! Very cool!

Do you recommend ebooks or textbooks?
That’s a great question! I feel like it is totally an individual preference. This year I am choosing both because I love studying with a physical copy so I am not distracted but it may be easier to have my digital copy in lecture so I can have it next to my digital notes! If cost is a factor, the digital ones are typically the cheaper option! I am really testing out which one I prefer most this year! I hope this helps!

It would depend what you are taking! I did a votech class in high school for health sciences! I used TH-cam a ton to watch skills and procedures! Pinterest also has really great graphics for nursing education! Just type in nursing school or the topic you are learning about! Good luck!

Gurl, here's your reassurance. Those two shirts you made and showed with the "boo" background you edited, or your editor, edited in are totally fine. The iron stain and pink faded in with the white imprint are NOT noticeable. I seriously couldn't tell until you showed me, and even when you showed the ironing problem, I still had to look closely to even notice. Please don't feel bad about it. Model and strut your stuff in those ts! 💜Lol

I prefer the air for its light weight! I checked out the pro and it was too bulky for me personally.
