That's just how competitive gameplay is, no one attacks at the end of each half because they don't want to lose the ball and give away a counter attack in the 45th or 90th min. It's ugly to watch but every pro does it at tournaments.

A few years ago, in FIFA 18-19 there were tens of thousands of views both on youtube and twitch, and not only in the eworld cup, but also on "smaller" cups. But they messed everything up when covid started, in FIFA 21 there literally weren't any tournaments (i have no idea why, they could've done online tournaments easily, or even offline ones with masks, the quarantine didn't last for a whole year as far as I'm concerned), so they've messed up quite badly what they've built in years. I'f I remember correctly, the eChampions league this year had like 20-30k average viewers on twitch, so they're getting back at it again. But the streaming of the eWorld Cup was horrible, because they didn't show us the mathces in the group stages, so we literally just watched the 3 commentators faces while the games were going on - it was incredibely random (there were links to the matches but most people didn't find them). So because of this, nobody watched the stream (i guess they came to see the games, not the commentator's faces). When the knockout stages started, they started to finally show the games, but by that time most people thought they will never show them i guess, so they didn't watch it. But for example, the eChampions League match between Nicolas and Tekkz has 1,8 million views and it was uploaded 1 month ago. The final of the eChampions League between nicolas and matias bonnano also has 600k views and it has been uploaded a month ago. I guess LoL tournaments, CS:GO tournaments or these stuff have more views, but LoL and CS:GO has incredibly good marketing, and the whole esport scene are very well built.
EA should buff passing so that players can make more creative tactics. Currently there is no tactics at all, everyone is just spamming ballroll+scoop turn and wait for opponents to mistake.
EA's game designers made huge mistakes by nerfing passing. Right now you cannot play any tactics as any aggressive pass will be intercepted. The whole game is boring as fk.

Nicolas always comes close and fails. When it matters it seems he lacks that killer mentality. Also, the game is boring and broken. I think this was a public display of that...it's almost like they wanted it to be so real they forgot to make it fun. it almost looks like there are some animations missing for clutch moments. The passing at the back helps you keep possession and run down the clock while waiting for an opportunity to present itself. If you attack and push all your guys forward then you risk a fate similar to MatiasBonanno against Um Ut in the round of 16. He was leading in the 88th minute 1 nil in the 2nd leg then Um Ut scored an equalizer. Extra time he pushed his team forward got countered each time and conceded 3 quick goals and lost 4-1. If a non-pro tried that against them you'd concede 10 in that extra time guaranteed.
