The feature film introduces a legendary family of explorers, the Clades, as they attempt to navigate an uncharted, treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog and a slew of ravenous creatures. “Inspired by classic adventure stories," said director Don Hall, “‘Strange World’ is an original animated adventure/comedy about three generations of the Clade family who overcome their differences while exploring a strange, wondrous and oftentimes hostile world.”
The voice cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal as Searcher Clade, a family man who finds himself out of his element on an unpredictable mission; Dennis Quaid as Searcher’s larger-than-life explorer father, Jaeger; Jaboukie Young-White as Searcher’s 16-year-old son, Ethan, who longs for adventure; Gabrielle Union as Meridian Clade, an accomplished pilot and Searcher’s partner in all things; and Lucy Liu as Callisto Mal, Avalonia’s fearless leader who spearheads the exploration into the strange world. “Strange World” is helmed by Don Hall (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Raya and the Last Dragon”) and co-director/writer Qui Nguyen (co-writer “Raya and the Last Dragon”), and produced by Roy Conli (Oscar®-winning “Big Hero 6,” “Tangled”).

This is a weird video to comment this on. I know some people say the marketing budget for this was less than similar Disney movies, which may well be accurate idk (I'd say I personally saw more than for Raya, Ralph 2 and Zootopia but I'm one person) but they did tonnes of this kind of marketing just before the movie release, you can check the channel and see like 11 others just like this.

@@kpwxx where I live I sadly could not even watch the movie at the cinema because they never showed it in english. I don’t like watching dubbed versions. To me it really felt like they didn’t promote this movie well at all. But I think they rely more on Disney+ now.

I wish they had promoted this movie more - it really was good. In 20 years it'll be a cult classic like Atlantis and Treasure Planet, and you'll be able to actually buy merch at whatever the 20 years from now Boxlunch is.

And Treasure Planet doesn't get that much love, attention, recognition, and representation in almost everything that Disney runs on and licenses with, compared to the successful fan-favorites. Also treasure planet does not get as much merch or spinoffs because it does not make much money. Trust if it was brining in Frozen dollars it would get the Frozen treatment. But people love that movie, I recommend looking up forums online, fans do cosplays and cool stuff.
Pretty fun underrated movie for me. The story could’ve been better, but the animation was gorgeous.
