It's interesting to hear from rhe owners and leaders of teams. Anyone else from superleague interested in talking about their background and their management of their teams? Useful resource.
What if rugby league turned to a draft style of transfers... Like the IPL in cricket. Clubs can retain 5 english players and 3 overseas players, or something like that, and then the rest are up for grabs with all clubs having equal money and wage cap... I think it will benefit the whole league making teams more balanced, that way you could potentially have 16-20 team league and the likes of Wigan and st Helens (Leeds) wouldn't be as dominant.... For example everyone thought Mumbai Indians were favs to win IPL with their squad, even bookies had them 3/1 favs.... They finished 2nd bottom
Imagine you've trained all your life to play rugby at the elite level, you finally make it to the Superleague draft only to be told you have to go and live in Hull 🤦🏻♂️
@@martinwarburton4683 compared to where??? Glorious Huddersfield? If I could move to hull tomorrow to play pro I'd move in heartbeat... You don't have to stay if club wants retain, still has to be agreed....I just think draft is only way to keep whole super league competitive, .. which isn't completely uncompetitive except for Wigan really.... Derek speaks so well Leigh legend. 👊👊
loving the second part to this
So much constructive talk here. Well played Derek 👏 Really enjoying these.
Excellent interview and some good suggestions from Derek. It is a pity IMG aren't coming up with any good ideas too?

What about championship clubs?
