The first twenty minutes of football from Dublin was almost devastating. Unfortunately for them they were never going to keep up that pace for the 70. They left themselves vulnerable once the pace slowed. As we all know on the back of this a more measured approach was adopted against the blanket defence. Death by a Ciaran Kilkenny hand pass! They haven't been troubled since. One that got away for Donegal. This was their final because they really didn't show against Kerry.
Little did everyone know back then that the next time the Dubs would be beaten in the championship would be 7 years later in 2021 when Mayo beat them in the semifinal
Fair play to Donegal beating us with Dermo, Stevo, Jack, and Cian starting but if I live to be 125 I'll never see a player as gifted as Diarmuid Connolly.
and the state of football since ....cowardly taking no chances...no one talks about six in a row because of the type of football played in order to achieve it...The Kerry four in a row means so much more,I as a hurling fan was a big fan of the football Dublin played in the beginning...but after 2014 they reverted to safety no risk approach awful to watch football
@@dechardy3093not fair at all Dec. They were magnificent to watch. It’s not their fault teams were terrified to play them man on man. My recommendation is to watch Dub Mayo 2015 replay, Dublin Kerry 2016 semi, Dublin Mayo 2017 final, Dublin Kerry 2019 (x2 finals). They will all dispel that notion you have.
Great game, stunning upset from Donegal. They should have won the All Ireland this year. Their jersey was also magnificent. As a Dub, the highlight from this is the unbelievable display from Diarmuid Connolly. Some incredible football on show. Would love to see Donegal back to their best.

Connolly is an extremely talented footballer but hes some dirty bastard. Better breeding in a bad dog as me father would have said.
