Have you broken one of these SX-RK3's yet? I'm putting one on a 48v BBSHD setup that I'm going to program to bring the power on slowly. I'm hoping it should be close to bulletproof.
I met a dude who had 3 bikes with these and BBSHD. I was so impressed we converted my Ultra M620 as well. Just the first day with it Noe but its awesome once you get your gearing figured out right!
Hello "Urban Cargo Bikes" ! I've seen you've been posting a couple of videos on the IGH SX RK3 I'm actually looking for one, any idea where I could buy or order one ??! I'm Montreal base too ! Thanks
Could you tell me how many MM length spokes you have on that 3 speed bike because I have the same bike and was thinking about converting mine to the sturmey archer RSX-RK3 I already converted one of my 26" fatbikes ,since I liked it on my 26" I was thinking about converting my 20" bike as well as you can see o my profile pix Ultra 1000 May I suggest to run DUAL batterys on your bike I did both of my bikes and its great because I do not have to stop and swap out the batterys the system I use see the 2 batterys as one battery and I have a total of 48V 28ah with a range of about 140 miles using pedal assist 3 Throttle range is about 100 miles and can change depending on you weight and terrain
I had hoped to add axle extensions to my RK3 so it would fit into 190 mm drop outs on a fat trike. I think it can be done but unless you have a machine shop connection the trial & error becomes expensive. I'm now wondering if the RK5 might be an easier fit with it's 210 mm axle width? The chain stays cannot be bent since they are reinforced for strength. Thank you.
Any idea if the 3 speed model will fit on a super73 Z1? Apparently the rear dropout on the z1 is only 150mm, but I’m not completely sure. And isn’t this hub 170mm?
What kind of top speeds are you seeing on the 5 speed? Is 5th gear direct drive? How many of these 5 speed hubs have broken on you? Thanks for this video by the way.
The biggest difference might be that your hub RX RD5 is for standard 135 mm drop out width & the SX RK3 is designed for 170 mm drop out width but I could not find your hub listed on a search.
Great explanation.

There no information about SX-RK5 on the official site. Can you share link for this IGH?

Salut, très bon video! Ou est ta boutique? Selon ton experience, quelle est la puissance maximale que ces moyeux encaissent?
So the old 'nuvinci' hub is obsolete now? thanks
great builds

3rd gear is direct drive. With no head wind you can get past 60 km/h at 52v 1000 watts
Haven't broken any but probably will especially with much power torque
@@urbancargobikes4930 Thank you..Cheers.

bro. spoke lenght for the xs rk3 on 20 inch wheel please let me know
Does phatty cycles sell the hub gear only?
Can you tell me the differents between your model and this Sturmey Archer Rear Hub RX-RD5 5V 36 Hole? Thanks.
Ya, as shown in the video, the 5 speed IGH has a much larger gear range than the 3 speed. The 3 speed is more simple to rebuild however.
The biggest difference might be that your hub RX RD5 is for standard 135 mm drop out width & the SX RK3 is designed for 170 mm drop out width but I could not find your hub listed on a search.
I have a ludicrous mid drive with 26 x 4 , want to use belt system, what do you think, or stick with chain?
So this 5 speed work with 26x4 fat bike , do you have to do any mods?
What kind of speed do you get?
5 Speed 60+ km/h. 3 Speed 50 km/h
Suntour in Taiwan make the SA hubs.
Nailed it
The old Engish hubs (before 1980) are sturdier
