Haven't worked on a 70 Monte in particular (that I can remember) but I've worked on a lot of "A-body" cars of that vintage and the frames all had that open C-channel in the middle. They ran the brake and fuel lines through them, bolted the trans crossmember to the bottom/inside of the C-channel, etc. I can't recall any of them being fully boxed in those areas from the factory.
@grandmasmalibu on the regular a-body cars that is true. The grand prix (69-72) had a boxed frame very similar to the convertible, I'm sure the Monte Carlo is the same.
What yall did will give a 20 year plus life to that vehicle
Good riding and nice cars when new.
Nice job 👌
Tom is da man...........................for sure
I thought the frames on this era Monte Carlos had the same frame as the grand prix. The grand prix from 69-72 has a fully boxed frame.

Wouldn't it be easier to buy a chassis from the roadster shop or anyone who makes them ?
At 5x the price...
$$$$$
I can hear the country in these fellas, anyone know what state their from?
Can’t believe they didn’t go electric on the power steering… it’s so easy and make sense 100%
Its a giveaway car so they probably are staying a little more basic
Nice
This is like a 20-year-old show.... they gave that Monte Carlo away years ago lol
Bad ass
Why make the frame so heavy? it has a bad effect on acceleration
Benefits outweigh the weight. Probably less than 2 hundred pounds. The rest of the body will use lighter parts overall.
You give this car to me i love muscle cars
Mike Galley and Tommy Bosher wete the best they had on these shows. Don't know why they left?
Tommy is still there. Mike probably just moved on like the others have
LS - bleah.
glad you didn't install one of those garbage monster transmissions.
Automatic transmissions make me sad.
