I was just in Medellin for 3 weeks and plan to go back. I didn't visit any other cities (on purpose) but will be back and venture out. I also purposely didn't watch the history of Pablo Escobar mainly due to not wanting to be tainted by the past. I loved Medellin and met the coolest person from Mexico City who works in Medellin. Hope to connect back with her when I return from the U.S. Big takeaway----no locals wear shorts and it's 75F degrees everyday. :) I guess when it's that nice everyday you just don't do it. Most of my friends thought I was nuts due to safety concerns. I never felt "unsafe". Great vids...
Love the color, looks very clean and friendly. Definition of eager beaver : a person who is extremely zealous about performing duties and volunteering for more. LOL!
Good stuff! You should take a short trip to the eje cafetero region of Pereira, Armenia and Manizales. And the nearly beautiful small towns with very unique and idiosyncratic coffee region culture. Towns such as Santa Rosa de Cabal, Salento, etc. Enjoy Colombia and keep the videos coming.
cool vids glad ur living it up especially b4 settling down, may i recom to do panama costa rica and belize next...im going to pan in 2 weeks meet me there and i can be ur tourist guide im hoping to relocate fully soon...just 1 tip hope to see more ladies in ur fut vids
Great videos! Thanks for sharing. How historical it must have been to ride past one of Pablo Escobar's estates and see the property that was bombed by the Cali cartel. I saw the first season of Narcos, which was pretty violent. However after watching the Colombian telenovela of Pablo Escobar, El Patron Mal, it was interesting to see a different point of view. You're spanish is pretty good! BTW what video editing software do you use and what type of camera do you use? Awesome work!
+Kevin Clark thanks a lot kevin. it was pretty amazing, huge highlight of my trip so far. i will have to check out that telenova. my spanish is definitelu getting better.. but david still had to repeat everything that the tour guide said so i could understand haha. i use my phone, a samsung galaxy note 5 to record, and imovie on my mac air to edit. thanks again
thanks sean, i think i will be in colombia for another 2 months or so. and yes, i plan on seeing as much of south america as possible, i dont really have a time limit
You are amazing. Such a butterfly, meaning that you meet people quickly and everywhere. This video was very nice and that island is gorgeous. You are a cutie too, I'm old, so I mean it with a pure and clean heart. Blessings 🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💞💞💞🇨🇴🇱🇷
I've been watching your channel. We stayed in El Poblado in Medellin. Made it out to Guatape. had a blast. we were out there for a week. A bit jealous that you've been out there a few months now haha
But before Pablo died you could stop there for free in many of his mansions in guatape that's if you were really good friends with him so I was lucky enough to stop there back in the late 80s when I use to fly over every other month he always made me feel welcome not unless I had an argument with him but sometimes I had to put him in his place or he would of took advantage if you get what I mean yours sincerely EL CHAPO
haha good question. inevitably you meet a lot of people when traveling.. from staying in hostels and doing touristy things. im not the most extroverted person so i dont become friends with everyone i meet, not by a long shot. however, i had met david about a week before this day, and him and I clicked really well right away. so the fact that I got to go on this adventure here was pure luck that i happened to meet a good guy like david. i met david in the 'nightlife in medellin' video
Marshall Powell vlogs I'll be sure to check out the nightlife in Medellin video. Great advice too! Hostels are an awesome place to meet people. And learn a little about the world and its many occupants. We all just want a little fun and relaxation in the end. ;) keep it up mate!
no at the moment im changing locations so frequently it would be impossible to receive mail.. appreciate it tho and in the future if i find a place to settle down for a month you might have to send me an xbox and h5
i had not heard of san andres but i just looked it up and it looks amazing. surprisingly far from mainland colombia so probably will have to go there once i go to central america later this year. good suggestion

I came 4 years ago for 2 weeks and I'm still here now I love this place will never leave now
$50 to rent a house for a weekend on the water. Sounds like a good investment Marshall. Just imagine the good footage you could get. :)

How do you just 'meet' people and travel with them? I always feel hella awkward travelling with randoms. haha
