they know people will buy them regardless if it works or not, imo that’s the only reason why they keep releasing packs like that (im looking at my wedding stories)
My sim's family dog stood up like a human and waved to someone yesterday. After that happened I called the adoption agency to come pick her up.😂No more pets for me.
I had a lesbian couple get married and have a science baby in an apartment, and it was pretty cute-it was my first time trying family gameplay and I didn’t realize how much the first experience would melt my heart… But you know how apartments had those lot traits that were pretty significant? Well mine had this trait where earth quakes happen pretty often-basically just makes your sims scared or tense sometimes, but there’s this unavoidable bit of autonomy that comes with it where your sims automatically have a “This is IT” reaction (similar to panicking over a fire, it’s just something that happens when there’s an earth quake). Doesn’t sound too bad, right? Right. It’s fine. *With adults.* My toddler got the autonomous reaction too though… Her limbs all stretched like spaghetti noodles for a solid ten seconds instead of doing the typical generic panicking animation, and then her limbs went back to normal and she went on with her day. This isn’t really a bug in that it ruins my save file or stops the game from working like it did before, but… it certainly effected my nightmares.
@@lou6039 Same, though I saw a youtuber having it live a bit earlier so it reassured me in that *I* didn't completely break the game somehow... Though the more generations in my game, the more it happens, even with only seasons it does it so guess it'll just keep on being terrifying ? :')
It's so interesting to read your comment because the whole reason I searched for this video is because every time I try to create a wedding ceremony event for my lesbian couple my game freezes. I've tried in multiple different ways to have them get married and move in together, and it freezes every time, even if I had them just elope immediately. I just want them to get married and have a little spellcaster science baby so I can work my way up to an ancient bloodline!
Seasons for me has a major bug with the umbrellas, i don’t know what it is but when sims do any actions in the rain they get stuck opening and closing umbrellas
Same here. Whenever they use the umbrellas. They just totally bug out and won't do anything. I have to buy the umbrella stand and make them put away the umbrella every time that happens and then, boom, problem solved.
The only bugs I have with seasons is the tree decorations don’t show up after the sims are done decorating and the scaring rings have major simulation lag
There is another problem with celebrities on cross-packs level. If celebrity visit your retail, vet clinic or restaurant, then you often can't make work interactions with them. Judit was in my sim's shop and I couldn't do anything except waiting for her to make her mind. Eco living alao have one small bug. Somtimes you can't turn off features. You can disable it at menu, but world still can change, Sims will have enviorment moodlet and townies will be voting fir projekts.
Weirdly the club system in get together allow you to add celebrites in the group, and you can talk with them normally in a club reunion. Anything else you cant talk with them if you dont know them enough. Sometimes they visit our house and we cant talk with them.
Dude even if I turn off the Eco-Living voting in the settings and repeal the votes with cheats, my townies STILL walk around with bags on their heads, it drives me crazy...
In "knifty knitting" there is a bug where sims won't sit anywhere to knit, they'll show an "x" that they can't sit to start knitting. It's not a big bug since it rarely appears, but it still can happen randomly. Also, if you have autonomy on and your sim has knitting supplies in their inventory, be prepared for your sims constantly wanting to knit and spend money on knitting x) Other than that, the pack is fine, I really like it!
yeah i can't tell them to sit and knit in one interaction. i have to make them sit in the chair and then click on the chair and tell them to knit once they're sitting or it wouldn't work
Same. Though I've had the 'can't sit to knit' bug happen A LOT with my sims which is highly annoying so I make my sims sit down first and then get them to start knitting.
Almost never encountered that bug. I always ask my Sims to just go to that couch, chair, rocking chair and they go and start knitting. The worst that I got is them starting to knit and abort. That way, I got a Sim with five unfinished knitting projects.
The most annoying thing about bust the dust is that even when you have the dust system turned off, it will randomly turn back on. Then I have to go into settings and turn it ON and then back off again to get the dust to go away 🤷♀️
Being a Modder is such a trip especially after picking up a bunch of stuff during the recent sale, cuz ill be testing my mods for bugs, and ill get a last exception and 'I'm like oh no what did i do wrong?" And it turns out to be literally just EA's own tuning causing it. You also really see all the places they cut corners or got lazy in their own tuning, like meat from cottag living just missing data for the retail system, or going for a jog with your dog not being tagged as a "go for a jog" interaction. Which is important for things like wants and aspirations or things like that. Ranch hand is a whole mess becuase instead of basing if off of maids and gardeners like you'd expect its based on butlers, which already is a buggy npc as it is. Like how hard is it to just make an npc with all the the Ai restrictions of maids and gardeners (which helps them to be the least buggy npc) and have one that focuses on animal care.
The Sims 4 is broken from the original code, and everytime the game updates or gets an expansion added it just breaks more. EA is too lazy to even bother fixing it it's really sad.
Omg I was playing around with apartments last night and couldn't figure out why random sims kept walking in! I thought my game in particular was broken. Sims kept coming up to me and asking to be best friends when we hadn't even been introduced yet. Like, wtf. 😅
This bug interacts soooo bad with neighborhood action plans from eco lifestyle. Somehow a plan got voted in that encourages your neighbors to steal your stuff... Those cretins stole 50% of my stuff and I couldn't figure out what the hell was happening. I'm thankful this game has such a great modding scene.
Happens in my games all the time when my Sim lives in an apartment. My Sim will be asleep in bed and a rando will enter their bedroom at 3am and ask to be bffs. I can’t decide if I’m entertained or disturbed by it. I also tend to randomly have issues with City Living festivals. Sometimes the festival items won’t even populate even though it says the festival is going on. Just a bunch of random Sims standing around dressed in their festive outfits.
Once in City Living, Loud WooHoo noises were coming from the apartment thats just an elder sim and her adult son... i really dont want to think about it.
I only use it because I love building restaurants and never actually use the sims for gameplay, also I got it pirated so didn't have to waste my money on it 😂
South beach in Island Living is cursed. Was there with my sims one night, and suddenly the townies started t-posing on top of the water. And one of my sims disappeared. It was terrifying.
In the Sims 4, once my sim was eating salad and went to pet the cat. Idk how, but the cat model somehow replaced the salad So my sim started walking around with a cat model stuck to her hand
I’m currently in school for computer science and wanna work in video games eventually, so I don’t have any first-hand experience, however, I’d imagine the sims 4 is buggy because it’s built with spaghetti code. Like it’s not organized very well and it’s not modular, so it’s not easy to add or modify stuff. Like in theory, if it’s designed well, they’d have templates for common objects, worlds, and features. They’d just need to reference those templates, and add onto them on a case-by-case basis. It would also be easier to debug if it’s built that way. But it also just depends on what language they used to make the game. Most games aren’t designed very well nowadays unfortunately. EA is also known for being an awful company to work for and the team programming the game are probably just as fed up and burnt out as we are.
Bugs I've noticed in City Living: if I have a sim living in the big cheap apartment with yellow chairs, the welcome event NEVER works properly. It's usually Baako and Anaya Jang showing up with fruitcake, and they never get an option to be invited in, and the event never actually starts, but they won't leave the lot until they pass out or soil themselves. In the fashion district (and sometimes other neighborhoods, but FD is the worst), I try starting conversations with random sims and they walk to the other side of the map to talk. Very frustrating. Recently in the body outline apartment, the outline will show up on top of any rug placed down. It worked great for most of the time I've had it, but it's getting more and more bugs, and they're not doing anything to fix the problems that are there.
and whats not only just annoying is that its the only pack with apartments and it looks futuristic but its not what we even asked for I want a normal looking city not something from the future
@@augusto7681 Im not talking about that its a bug im saying that its annoying there is no other city pack in the game like cant we have normal skyscrapers?
“Annoying but it works” for City Living is extremely generous. What works, exactly? Karaoke doesn’t unless you’re alone, basketball hoops don’t work on foundations, the mouse holes are broken, the festivals are broken, neighbors are broken… And also, I still suspect Seasons as the cause of a lot of the gardening bugs.
My wedding stories is the perfect example of why I look at reviews before buying packs. Love the concept of it but because it didn’t even work during the livestream from EA playing the game was all I really needed to know about how appalling it was.
Wedding stories should have never been a pack. Wedding was just perfect in the base game, what they could have done was added more wedding items like CAS and cakes for free in an update and left the system alone. When they did that, it broke the wedding altogether. IMHO
If there were kits back then, I would have said it was soppose to be a kit. A couple of bb items, a couple of more wedding clothes, and that's basically all this pack has ever had to offer
@@Lovlyb35 Agreed. Weddings were always annoying in my game because I can't get everyone to go where I want, but even then I'd rather have a kit than just "We redid it but now it's somehow The Problem You Already Had But WOrse"
The campfire from Outdoor retreat (pretty much the only gameplay) is terrible bug-wise. It works well for a week or two, but at some point, it stops functioning properly. It will appear to be burning, but it's actually burnt out. Also, at first there's a normal, reasonable chance of fire, but at a certain point something changes and any interaction will cause fires. I tried a history challenge and it was a nightmare because the campfire just wouldn't work consistently.
Helpful to know this was happening to other players. I love the campfire, but have had to remove it from all my lots because everytime a sim lit it, a fire started. Every time. Ugh.
This happens with my dryers in Laundry Day. After a while my sims will swear there's no dryer on the lot and I just...can't use it anymore???? So I always have the lines outside now...
I find in general the less packs you have the better the game runs. I decide to strip my game down to only the ones I know I use super often, so I've got 6 packs running total (2 expansion, 3 stuff, 1 game pack), and things seem to run more smoothly. I don't find I miss all the other stuff that was junking up my game, it is just a shame I already paid for it all.
One of, if not the biggest reason for the bugginess is "spaghetti code". Due to the basis of the game being a mobile game, which then had to very quickly be converted to pc/console, i think the base code is likely just very clunky and un-optimised. Spaghetti code can also lead to a lot of errors and compatibility issues between BG and DLC, so i mean it isn't UNCOMMON, but most game dev studios would NEVER allow a game to go out in as clunky/buggy/unplayable a state as EA allows Unfortunately, EA KNOWS that its player base is both gullible and lacks alternatives, so they don't care and continue to ignore these core issues. It's horrendous corporate malpractice but in EA's eyes, as long as their shareholders and board of directors are happy, they don't care (à la happy wife, happy life). I've stopped playing ts4 and am now focusing on saving up to get a bigger ssd for my pc so i have enough space to install ts3 and all the store content i had, because thankfully that game had significantly less spaghetti code and just happened to be "before its time" which led to the modern hardware problems due to the whole 32x architecture thing. Still less unplayable than the sims 4, and the game is more beautiful/detailed in my opinion so i will gladly take having to install 29494883 optimisation mods in order to have a functional, if slightly potato-aesthetic game over a completely unplayable, slightly more modern-looking game 🤷🏽♀️😕
this might be an extremely unpopular opinion but I think Maxis has an unskilled dev team that EA frankly has never cared to try and make it better for the Sims franchise. Like, sims 3 has a really bad case of spaghetti code which simmers usually try to excuse with "it was ahead of its time" but the same could be said about the sims 4. In fact the same problem with DLC making the game slower is the same problem sims 3 has. imo the sims 1/2 are the only ones that can be excused because the leap between them is so big that you could consider them to be completely different games.
@@arantxaortiz2757 I dont know any other games that have so many dlc and I think is almost impossible to not have some bugs when you keep adding more and more stuff in a very old game code. But because of the nature of the game, there is always life aspects that can be added to make the game more complex that they wouldnt have time to add since base game. Anyway I have no solution for this problem.
@@arantxaortiz2757 There is nothing 'ahead of its time' about the sims 4 for the same be said about it. The main problem with TS3 that makes people say it was ahead of its time is that they went too ambitious while having the absolute brain-fart idea of making it x32 bits in 2009, with the poor and lame excuse of "there's more people with potato computers and we want money", meanwhile, GTA5 with absurd graphics for its time becomes the most profitable entertainment product of all time with 6bi in profits. 99% of TS3 issues are RAM related because of the x32, pretty much all of TS4 issues are code related because of bad coding and refurbishing what was supposed to be a mobile game, thus making the game slow in both cases but for different reasons. I have modded for TS3 and the things I noticed the most with its flaws with the code was that it seems that DLCs were being worked at the same time by different studios (one in Canada, another in the US if I'm not mistaken) and there was an obvious lack of communication between these teams while they were coding their stuff. Also, TS4-Era Maxis is pretty much EA employees that were relocated to work there as the actual talent of the company was long gone by the time TS4 came and the studio was Maxis in name only.
@@arantxaortiz2757I think there is more to this. They have a greedy management team, and they also keep cutting quality control using their customers as play testers and then trying to fix with patches. Since sims 3 or 2 did not have the option to be patched they made it better from the start. Now they cut qc and release the game then do a surface patch effing up anything else then they say they fix things and they don’t or mess other things up. Issues start at the top. And they have a very minimalistic, profit (not quality) driven mindset. They know they will sell it even if it’s crap (even broken, reputation be damned) so they cut budget and separate dlc and the wave their hand because they feel they can just patch it, while making money. I’m waiting for competition at this point. They will milk this cash cow until they kill it and then say it’s not selling so they don’t have to take the blame. They will say it’s no longer popular. Sims 5 is another push for multiplayer except most people never wanted one to begin with (they could have made a separate game for that). Multiplayer allows them to push for loot boxes and micro transactions. They will introduce gambling like online games do. It’s all about money not quality and not creativity or about a game people would like.
Satch, you forgot that the plants going dormant and dying even while "in-season" bug happens because of seasons! That's a pretty annoying one! It was driving you crazy in your last let's play video!
My sim just graduated college and went to work at the police station. I tried to lock up a criminal in a cell 3 times and each time a random cop locked themselves up instead, only at the 4th try did she lock up the criminal. The second work day 1 of the cops was still locked in the cell 😅 i just ignore them
I’m not sure if it’s base game or seasons, but one of the most annoying bugs right now in my game is plants reverting to dirt piles when they’re in season. It used to be. You could put the dirt pile in your inventory and then take it back out and it will go back to being a full-size plant but that doesn’t even work anymore.
Oh, the gardening bug? I finally gave up trying to fix it and now I use debug cheats to reset my plants to the appropriate stage. It’s a nuisance because I love to garden!
Realm of Magic is super glitchy too (At least in my game) especially with the spells. Sometimes the spells won't work at all, my sims are stuck in animation loop everytime they are invited to duel, sometimes my sims overcharge without even using magic. Is a nightmare.
Cottage living can be glitchy when the cow doesnt leave its shed and cant clean them unless i call them out. Supposedly they fixed this but I tried it recently and still have problems sometimes
in get together the whole town comes to order a coffee from the barista at the same time. it’s so overwhelming and people end up standing around for hours just ordering
I mostly agree. I actually enjoy Bust the Dust, but admittedly, I had to install a mod that slows down the rate of dust accumulation because the default was just too fast. The mod I got also turns off the dust bunnies so there's not little creatures hopping around my floor lol. But what I like about this kit is that it brings up the level of immersion for me, just like Laundry Day did. I want to feel like my sims have challenges in their daily life, and having to clean the house is a good way to do that.
Also a hot take but the dust bunnies ARE stupid (this is the part we agree on) but what I think they should have done instead of them is using that for grass. Vacuuming and mowing the lawn are things I always wanted in the Sims, and they could have used the SAME THINGS they put in that pack for the lawn also. The dirtiness system being the grass growing, and vacuum animations but for lawn mowers...
One thing I'll say in City Living. I don't know if it's just my game is cursed or what, but I swear Sims will drop what they're doing every in game hour to "discover" roaches or mice over and over again and it's really annoying. Once again, I don't know if anyone else has had the problem, but I do have a lot of mods installed
I feel like the expansion packs with the most potential, are the buggiest. Like how amazing is get to work, university and high school years? They all had great potential, but EA didn’t put the effort in it that it deserved
It’s happened to me. Also the opposite where it’s the winter and they’re rocking their hottest season outfit for whatever reason??? Trying to die I guess
Get to Work needs an update. I recently got it and it’s caused so many more bugs with my base game play. My Sim went to work at her retail shop and when she got home her infants hadn’t been taken care of and she just stood there, not doing any tasks I told her to.
I've had Spa Day for a while, but only recently tried being a wellness expert and make money. I can't tell you how many times my yoga classes have been cancelled because there are not enough participants, while 5 people are waiting for me to start.
Lol Growing Together has one of its main features - milestones - dead. And both Vampires and Werewolves are unplayable currently because super-speed doesn't work
I cannot achieve a top vet clinic or top restaurant, or achieve top grades in university due to the bugs. So frustrating to spend so much money on these packs, and you can't even achieve anything because it just breaks. My hired vets preferred to stay outside instead of attending patients. My restaurants always glitch around 4 stars. All employees disappear and I get an error when trying to visit my restaurant. So annoying
Ive had issues with father winter, my toddler simply couldn't ask for a present because the action kept getting cancelled. The first time I played the university pack, my sim's graduation was right on Christmas so he never graduated and never got his diploma, it simply said no terms left and it remained like that.
the main problem when EA releases a new pack they forget to integrate it properly into older gameplay....that's why we see servo's as diners ordering food but unable to eat causing the restaurant fail to load, "Rotting Together" broke the broken bikes from University so sims are just obsessed to bike inside, and infants/toddlers immediately forget everythig they've learned when traveling to another lot reverting to braindead imbeciles, Spa Day - NEVER!!! keep the massage table or chair at home! otherwise sims won't do anything than asking for massage or proposing it autonomously. Get Famous - they forgot to integrate MasterMix table, Pipe Organ from Vampires and a microphone as a chance to get nominated (painting nomination is completely broken) , Cats and Dogs were not able to use the lift, and the newest one bug - household with a horse is occupying the flat (I don't even try to imagine where the horse will poo in the city) and many other things. No more Rumba - sims are obsessed with country dance just everywhere, and no more Japanese names - even at Mt.Komorebi there are lots of Native American names.... this list is just endless
AoW (Age of Wushu) had weddings as a MMORPG, EA have NO reason not to get this correct. This is how it worked: 1) The male character sends a proposal to the female character 2) The female agrees/denies to the proposal 3) The players book a ingame timeslot (date and server time) as there was limited ones each day and others could book them. At this point they would also buy the invitations and send those to other players they wanted to invite. 4) the procession through the city, the male comming on a horse or donkey (depending on how much he wanted to spend) and the woman in a pelinquin of diffrent sizes and decorations depending on the money spent. They would also have to get a wedding atire (red and gold) 5) there would be a small cermony thaty ends with a timed dance event for the bride and groom. Depending on how good they did, they would get certain bonuses ingame. Once the dance is over you get a fade to black animatic scene as the two spouces spend their first night with one a other. if a MMORPG could get this to work, EA absolutely could.
Final Fantasy 14 is also an MMO with an entire wedding system that works. It's a series of cutscenes with breaks in the middle to lollygag, but you can pick which cutscenes, and I agree with Satch when he said they should have done it that way.
The thing that annoys me the most about get famous in the fact that the celebrity system doesn't recognise family. My sim's parent were 5 stars celebrities before she met her husband and now the father of her children can't talk to his in-laws because they're famous ! He only gets the basic interaction with them like "ask for an autograph" and such. The only way they can have a relationship is if I play the parents and have them talk to their son in-law and get to know him...
PERSONALLY, dine out honestly always works for me. the only major bug i have at the restaurant is sometimes my sim will stand up while talking to another sun at the same table. but it seems for me at least that the food arriving has gotten faster and workers have been picking up and throwing away dirty dishes efficiently too
I took my cat to the vet to get spayed and we went like super early. The game glitched for so long that my sim aged up at the vets office, she was so depressed afterward! I max out the vet skill for my Sims with pets so I can treat them myself now. Traumatized. 🙃
I'm surprised that Eco Living is ranked as minor bugs only when NAPs imo are one of the most broken features in the game. Like usually simmers, myself included, complain about townies and own sims making a million cakes or playing with the stupid clay thing
Agreed but mostly because of Sharing Is Caring. IDK how they thought they could just put that in the game and not put hard limits on what can be "shared"
Growing together was sooo buggy for me. All interactions were cancelled, or the 'latest' interaction would be stuck and couldnt be cancelled, any times i have an infant, and the only way to stop it was to age them up early :(
they havent fixed the university bugs such as the 1) the foxbury spirit corps notification spam where u would get like 50+ notifications of it and 2) the keg stands not working when u and the sim u want to do it with are sitting down ... like it's just so bugged as for hsy, i want to explore more of the school but theres literally so little time to do ANYTHING :(
in horse ranch pack there is a bug (or maybe it's a feature? XD ) that sims constantly get off horses and horses "take off" saddle. I direct my sim to mount horse, horse "changes" to wear saddle, sim mount horse and immediately dismount, horse take off saddle etc etc...
Hey Satch, I agree with you for the most part. Imo Dream Home Decorator is totally broken. The gig doesn't end, it glitches in the middle and you can't accomplish your goals, or the gig does "technically" end but the event is still on so your sim can't travel anywhere and if you wait for the timer to run out you get $0 and lose reputation. Also you get the stupidest "likes and dislikes" in a renovation: kitchen renovation - we hate red and love rock climbing, painting & violin. Thanks a lot.
Dream Home Decorator is completely broken for me; I love the pack contents and the idea of it but I literally cannot play the career anymore because you cannot complete the gig. All the requirements are fulfilled, but the gig is never marked as complete and your sim cannot even leave the lot. I have to shut down the game to even get off the lot.
It's kind of sad how packs having not much gameplay is a positive in the sims because anytime the sims team tries to give use gameplay it's so buggy it becomes counter productive 😅
Small point to add for Seasons. Gardening is sooo buggy with seasons. i havent played without seasons in a hot minute so let me know if im saying bullshit. But plants will often just.. dissapear? like go back in the floor where u can only water and weed and u have to go into build mode put them in your family inventory and put them back for them to work again properly, which is really annoying bc then u have to wait for the plant to grow again, and until its done the seasons might as well be over already. Sheltering doesnt fix this and sheltered plants will also have that problem. its really annoying and im baffled they havent fixed this yet.
That, and sometimes the plants just won’t produce harvestables even if you’re on the lot all night. You have to use debug cheats to reset them to the mature or flowering growth stages.
No, I only play the Sims base game because I refuse to buy any packs and this happens in the base game too. I freaked out when that happened to my plants because I thought I lost them forever but when I hovered over them it said they were still planted so I waited it out and they regrew. I guess if I wanted ONE pack, it would've been Seasons so now I have to keep that in mind 😐
@@MitsukiDiablew horrified to learn its a basegame bug wtf i thought the changing of seasons was confusing the plants or smth. No Pack has 0 Bugs, but tbh Seasons got it pretty okay, if what i described was basegame anyways. Just watch out planning any kind of social event in winter as ur guests will freeze to death on accident a lot. Even when the venue should be inside, they just keep chatting outside until they die sometimes.
@@halfghostcoffee8635 Yeah, unfortunately that is a bug that comes from the game itself. And thank you for your input. I’ve always liked Seasons even though I still think it should be part of the base game because weather alone plus the holidays gives the game so much so I’ll definitely reconsider and get it during a sale. 😊
i had dine out on playstation when it first came out and suprisingly it worked! i would play the hell out of it with NO issues imagine my surprise years later when i get a pc and choose to buy one of my favorite packs and it turns out it doesnt run AT ALL and even with a mod theres still some major issues
Yeah, I'm taking your advice and not getting the vacuuming pack as I saw some of the glitches of it, and the wedding stories pack will be another i'll be avoiding after seeing how terrible it really is.... thanks for saving me some money Satch!
@SatchOnSims I think you accidentally repeated yourself with Discover University when you were talking about another pack , like Highschool Years and Eco Lifestyle 😅 I thought my brain froze for a moment
My Sims can't use the computer unless I tell them to sit on the chair first and oh my god this so so annoying cause a lot of the time I forget so they just end up not doing what I told them to do.. and then I wonder why my Sims are so bad at video games or writing or at university.. 🙄
According to Summer Erin (whose yt page I love) does videos coving the average #of people are delegated to teams for each pack release. There seams to be a trend with less people allocated to bug fixes portion and more on the design. I this is very telling of why bugs are more common now.
isnt it funny how they were making such a big deal about how much work they were putting into horses only for it them to constistenly glitch . oh ea how you always talk the the talk but you will never walk the walk lol
One thing that pisses me off with seasons is that father winter never leaves!!!! He stays until the morning and just drinks water all night long. I’ve had every single surface filled with empty glasses because of him and it’s so annoying
Seasons change the plants from all season to set seasons. It makes the bugs glitch out and not come back into season- especially if you move them in base mode.
Not really a pack specific bug (that I know of) but one that has been SUPER annoying during my latest play through is that my infants just aren’t being cared for when my adult sims leave the lot. Their needs will just slowly decay until they’re dangerously low. Luckily, I’m on pc and have the ui cheats mod so it’s pretty simple to just raise them, but like, what about console players? And also, I shouldn’t have to depend on mods to make a game work. I love the sims, but if I could get 3 to work, I would choose that one instead in a heartbeat lol. Yeah, it has its own bugs and issues, but at least that one has a lot of mod fixes that won’t get broken by the next update
Does anyone experience invisible sims glitch when planning to stay over? *EVERY SINGLE TIME* I plan stayed over, the visiting sims always invisible. I reset them so many times but nothing happened.
YOu say seasons is not buggy but I notice every time it storms or snows outside my game starts to lag really bad... so much so that I usually end up turning the weather off completely, which sux cuz I love rain and snow IRL =(
LOL!! in get Together Blood Rayne joined a club called Mommy Needs Help. Everyone came over, cleaned the house, fixed things, made grilled cheese, and wrote novels, while Rayne and her new hubby Phlanx went to sleep. LOL!!
I make a group like this called Cleanup Crew and it's all sims from the households I actually play, so they come over and clean and repair and garden so I don't have to hire people :D
Is it sad that I’m so used to buggy Sims games that I didn’t notice how buggy some of these were until you pointed them out. 😂 Anything “Annoying but works” and below might as well be the holy grail considering some of the unplayable content that has been released.
My only issue with city living is ive had the fireworks bug since I i installed it. I cant live in the part of the town that the humor and hijinks festival is without the fireworks throwing a LE. And the detective career breaks if you move a chair wrong.
I find discover university works better with classes if you aren’t in britechester which is unfortunate. I really like the idea of living in dorms but going to class just doesn’t seem to work at times
Growing together also has the loose tooth bug where your child Sim won't sleep at all. Like at all....... You end up having to give them a new bed to make them sleep again. It only happens to the kids with loose teeth
The Sims Cottage Living was the first pack where I noticed my Sims just stopped giving a shit about path finding altogether and just started phasing through walls.
Apartments are very very annoying sometimes. Occasionally they'll be a random sim that gets like stuck in a neighboring Apartment and be there just standing, needs depleting and it's so ridiculous. I don't want them to d1e, so I exit out of the story I'm playing in to go into their home save and play as that household to get them to come home and then take care of their needs before going back to my sims🤦🏽♀️. This bug needs to be fixed tho cuz like...I'm tired of doing that, and it doesn't make it any better that loading screens usually take forever so I waste mad time taking care of rando sims just cuz I don't want them to d1e in the apartment block they glitched into
Been having some bugs and glitches i didn't have with Get To Work since that download. Don't have mods or anything...but suddenly there are no doctors when you choose to go to hospital to have a baby. My sim lay in the machine til her work started and my only options was join and send alone! So I sent her to work. Now she is at home, but i cannot interact with her as her portrait says she is at work...and the baby just ceased to exist i guess.
100% agree with this video. Thought I would got through the stuff packs with gameplay. *cough cough* Laundry Days *cough cough* Also couldn’t help but notice the BBC mic. Either this video was made before the old one died or he really did go back to the black phallic mic.
The fact that there's even a tier of "doesn't work at all" and EA is still selling those packs at full price is actually disgusting
they know people will buy them regardless if it works or not, imo that’s the only reason why they keep releasing packs like that (im looking at my wedding stories)
Just gnarly
And this is why you always crack them from pirate bay. Tbh who can afford this game.
So basically:
1. Shallow pacs tend to work better
2. Events don't work at all
BINGO
My sim's family dog stood up like a human and waved to someone yesterday. After that happened I called the adoption agency to come pick her up.😂No more pets for me.
Lol
Sounds like the sims
That dog was a skinwalker, good call 😂😂
@@PuppySims 💀🤣
Honestly that sounds like a funny glitch that I would be happy with - like make it into the lore of the world at that point haha
Omg I had something similar happen to my infant recently and it scared me so much that I havent touched the game ever since 💀💀
@@lou6039 Same, though I saw a youtuber having it live a bit earlier so it reassured me in that *I* didn't completely break the game somehow...
Sims 3 has the same issue
Same here. Whenever they use the umbrellas. They just totally bug out and won't do anything. I have to buy the umbrella stand and make them put away the umbrella every time that happens and then, boom, problem solved.
so true!
Yes! My sims will be inside still holding an invisible umbrella like what
The only bugs I have with seasons is the tree decorations don’t show up after the sims are done decorating and the scaring rings have major simulation lag
You can disable it at menu, but world still can change, Sims will have enviorment moodlet and townies will be voting fir projekts.
celebrities fr be ruining our careers
I've encountered some bugs with Laundry Day as well
Autonomously knitting and spending money on it constantly is so real, though. I'm not joking when I say I used to have a knitting addiction
I have the the exact same problem! Gosh, i have to uninstall this shit 😬
and thats why I didnt buy it 😀
@@v1ku390 same definitely not because I couldn’t afford it
Same with Get Famous. My sims are getting in and out of the fame system. They get sad moodlets from loosing starts, even if I always opt them out 🥴
I have to do the same with wants and fears, now I just let them be since fears are broken anyway eh
Like, wtf. 😅
There are so many Sims just asking to be best friends 😂 Don't know what happened but my socialite Sim is now best friends with half the townies
I have this one too, it's so annoying! And it happens only when my Sims live in apartment, when it's a house bug is gone
@@wandauriel Especially because the townies get butthurt if you reject them! Urgh, they have like 30 friendship! Why are they so hurt over it? 😂😭
I had that one too omfg 😭 i was hoping another townie would walk out with the son or something but it was just them 🙃
Omg thats disturbing lol I shouldn't be laughing right now
Honestly, Dine Out is one of the reasons why I left the sims 4. It’s amazing how they just left it to die with all those bugs
I left when Batuu dropped but yeah I was already super mad about Dine Out and I never even bought it
I only use it because I love building restaurants and never actually use the sims for gameplay, also I got it pirated so didn't have to waste my money on it 😂
South beach in Island Living is cursed. Was there with my sims one night, and suddenly the townies started t-posing on top of the water. And one of my sims disappeared. It was terrifying.
In the Sims 4, once my sim was eating salad and went to pet the cat.
Idk how, but the cat model somehow replaced the salad
So my sim started walking around with a cat model stuck to her hand
I love the fact, that this video is about bugs and glitches and when i first started the video it had no sound because of a bug.😂
@@v1ku390 Okay but a futuristic city is not a bug. The spice market and art district have this old new york vibe.
For me the npcs always walk through my who knows what floor apartment
For me it's also the fact that doors no longer disappear when playing with walls down. It's so damn annoying - why did they have to "fix" that?
@@augusto7681 Im not talking about that its a bug im saying that its annoying there is no other city pack in the game like cant we have normal skyscrapers?
“Annoying but it works” for City Living is extremely generous. What works, exactly? Karaoke doesn’t unless you’re alone, basketball hoops don’t work on foundations, the mouse holes are broken, the festivals are broken, neighbors are broken…
And also, I still suspect Seasons as the cause of a lot of the gardening bugs.
@@fruity4820 you know the could have made a kit for cas and bb for wedding and it would have been fine too.
Spaghetti code can also lead to a lot of errors and compatibility issues between BG and DLC, so i mean it isn't UNCOMMON, but most game dev studios would NEVER allow a game to go out in as clunky/buggy/unplayable a state as EA allows
Unfortunately, EA KNOWS that its player base is both gullible and lacks alternatives, so they don't care and continue to ignore these core issues.
I thought the game was supposed to be multi-player. I didn't know about the mobile bit???
this might be an extremely unpopular opinion but I think Maxis has an unskilled dev team that EA frankly has never cared to try and make it better for the Sims franchise.
EA's reaction to the wedding pack not working was basically a cool "Oh, my bad!"
Satch, you forgot that the plants going dormant and dying even while "in-season" bug happens because of seasons! That's a pretty annoying one! It was driving you crazy in your last let's play video!
9:55 17:26 adding “my first” to any sims 4 dlc name is the perfect insult 💀
My sim just graduated college and went to work at the police station. I tried to lock up a criminal in a cell 3 times and each time a random cop locked themselves up instead, only at the 4th try did she lock up the criminal. The second work day 1 of the cops was still locked in the cell 😅 i just ignore them
I'm at the point where if my townies are gonna die from doing something stupid, I just let them. My game is full Darwinism now.
That's STILL a bug!? I haven't played since like 2019 and I had that problem. Sheesh.
Slanderman foxes monsters...
From what I remamber even reset don't help with them.
in get together the whole town comes to order a coffee from the barista at the same time. it’s so overwhelming and people end up standing around for hours just ordering
The freezing to death in summer glitch was so stressful.
Laundry Day hasn't worked all summer. I had to remove the washing machine and dryer, since they just don't work at all.
Have we forgotten about sims walking in their winter outfits ALL THE TIME with Seasons? Or is it me-only problem? 😖
It’s happened to me. Also the opposite where it’s the winter and they’re rocking their hottest season outfit for whatever reason??? Trying to die I guess
Yeah like can't they automatically change once they're home, since they already change when going outside???
Get to Work needs an update. I recently got it and it’s caused so many more bugs with my base game play. My Sim went to work at her retail shop and when she got home her infants hadn’t been taken care of and she just stood there, not doing any tasks I told her to.
I've had Spa Day for a while, but only recently tried being a wellness expert and make money. I can't tell you how many times my yoga classes have been cancelled because there are not enough participants, while 5 people are waiting for me to start.
Satch: All the stuff packs are minor bugs only as they don’t have enough gameplay.
Laundry Day: *Laughs* You are wrong.
Outdoor retreat - every time i do the camp fire, the chairs catch on fire. It’s so frustrating and annoying 🙄🙄
the main problem when EA releases a new pack they forget to integrate it properly into older gameplay....that's why we see servo's as diners ordering food but unable to eat causing the restaurant fail to load, "Rotting Together" broke the broken bikes from University so sims are just obsessed to bike inside, and infants/toddlers immediately forget everythig they've learned when traveling to another lot reverting to braindead imbeciles, Spa Day - NEVER!!! keep the massage table or chair at home! otherwise sims won't do anything than asking for massage or proposing it autonomously.
Why is "a significant amount of patience" expected of us as players let alone as consumers assuming we are buying a complete and working product?
AoW (Age of Wushu) had weddings as a MMORPG, EA have NO reason not to get this correct. This is how it worked:
1) The male character sends a proposal to the female character
2) The female agrees/denies to the proposal
3) The players book a ingame timeslot (date and server time) as there was limited ones each day and others could book them. At this point they would also buy the invitations and send those to other players they wanted to invite.
4) the procession through the city, the male comming on a horse or donkey (depending on how much he wanted to spend) and the woman in a pelinquin of diffrent sizes and decorations depending on the money spent. They would also have to get a wedding atire (red and gold)
5) there would be a small cermony thaty ends with a timed dance event for the bride and groom.
@@kaydwessie296 yeah, that would be a good way of doing it for sure.
Thats sound more annoying than a bug. I dont have this pack to have know for sure.
Agreed but mostly because of Sharing Is Caring. IDK how they thought they could just put that in the game and not put hard limits on what can be "shared"
Growing together was sooo buggy for me. All interactions were cancelled, or the 'latest' interaction would be stuck and couldnt be cancelled, any times i have an infant, and the only way to stop it was to age them up early :(
they havent fixed the university bugs such as the 1) the foxbury spirit corps notification spam where u would get like 50+ notifications of it and 2) the keg stands not working when u and the sim u want to do it with are sitting down ... like it's just so bugged
as for hsy, i want to explore more of the school but theres literally so little time to do ANYTHING :(
...and this folks is why some of us have stayed with base game only. I would love to add packs, but if I give money for a game, I want it to work!
I cant have a grill on my ranch 😂 the dang ranch hand always sets themselves on fire.
My wedding stories should have gotten its own tier 😂
in horse ranch pack there is a bug (or maybe it's a feature?
I have to shut down the game to even get off the lot.
the incest bug hasn't actually been fixed, my sim was a story child to the goths, and alexander asked her out on a date.
You were far too generous in your rankings, but I respect your opinion Satch.
i had dine out on playstation when it first came out and suprisingly it worked! i would play the hell out of it with NO issues
imagine my surprise years later when i get a pc and choose to buy one of my favorite packs and it turns out it doesnt run AT ALL and even with a mod theres still some major issues
Yep, he did.
My Sims can't use the computer unless I tell them to sit on the chair first and oh my god this so so annoying cause a lot of the time I forget so they just end up not doing what I told them to do.. and then I wonder why my Sims are so bad at video games or writing or at university.. 🙄
Seasons, minor bugs only? It's literally broken gardening for everyone.
According to Summer Erin (whose yt page I love) does videos coving the average #of people are delegated to teams for each pack release. There seams to be a trend with less people allocated to bug fixes portion and more on the design. I this is very telling of why bugs are more common now.
i always find inspiration when i visit this channel. thanks for reviving my passion for making videos. i feel like myself again.
I love your Videos. Keep up with the good work
"this pack (MWS) is a metaphor for a clown" hahahahaha. That is brilliant!!! HAHAHAHA!!!
Surprised you didn’t mention laundry day! My laundry constantly gets stuck in the washing machine.
You forgot to mention Growing Together's infamous "loose tooth" bug that happened at day 1 launch
FOR REAL
isnt it funny how they were making such a big deal about how much work they were putting into horses only for it them to constistenly glitch . oh ea how you always talk the the talk but you will never walk the walk lol
One thing that pisses me off with seasons is that father winter never leaves!!!! He stays until the morning and just drinks water all night long. I’ve had every single surface filled with empty glasses because of him and it’s so annoying
Me too sister,me too
Seasons change the plants from all season to set seasons.
YOu say seasons is not buggy but I notice every time it storms or snows outside my game starts to lag really bad... so much so that I usually end up turning the weather off completely, which sux cuz I love rain and snow IRL =(
I turned the storms off because they're TOO DANG LOUD and I'm gonna lose my mind if they keep making my toddlers and pets keep whining
every time you say "dine out" i hear "die now" and it's hilarious
Same 😂😅
LOL!! in get Together Blood Rayne joined a club called Mommy Needs Help.
Cannot believe he put laundry day in minor bugs😅😅
And this is why I stay in build mode - my computer can't handle gameplay without horrible lag, and the bugs... dear god
am i the only one who’s dine out works perfectly ??😭
My favorite experience with DU was my twin sims who moved into an apartment in San Myshuno and both went to college from there, so yes, I agree lmao.
NOOOOO dream home decorator is soooooo broken atm 😢can’t bear playing it
Growing together also has the loose tooth bug where your child Sim won't sleep at all. Like at all....... You end up having to give them a new bed to make them sleep again. It only happens to the kids with loose teeth
Haven't invested enough money into Sims 4 to agree or disagree, but am commenting for the algorithm. 🙃
This bug needs to be fixed tho cuz like...I'm tired of doing that, and it doesn't make it any better that loading screens usually take forever so I waste mad time taking care of rando sims just cuz I don't want them to d1e in the apartment block they glitched into
But the gardening bug is base game right? That one is infuriating
Yeah it is base game as well. I only play base game and it has happened to me too :c
Been having some bugs and glitches i didn't have with Get To Work since that download. Don't have mods or anything...but suddenly there are no doctors when you choose to go to hospital to have a baby. My sim lay in the machine til her work started and my only options was join and send alone! So I sent her to work. Now she is at home, but i cannot interact with her as her portrait says she is at work...and the baby just ceased to exist i guess.
i dont have ANY vampire bugs. i prefer playing with them because of that lol
There are some packs I'd deactivate in a heartbeat if it wasn't for at least one or two things they contain I couldn't play without...
100% agree with this video. Thought I would got through the stuff packs with gameplay. *cough cough* Laundry Days *cough cough* Also couldn’t help but notice the BBC mic. Either this video was made before the old one died or he really did go back to the black phallic mic.
My horse can walk through walls 😎
