Shout out to all those "Bounds" maps too! So much nostalgia for those. Where youd have a ling and run around avoiding explosion patterns. There was always that 1 pro who carried the team at every challenge.

I'm surprised some of these still work even after all the patches SC Remastered had. I remember cloaking hydras in custom maps where the hydras themselves were the main heroes. Cloaking infested terrans was also fun since it made bombing key targets a lot easier.
Probably because youre never gonna see cloaked infested terrans or cloaked hydras in a real match. Most of these tricks are pretty worthless. Some are useful in competitive play, and some are banned in tournament play. The game is balanced. How do we know? A terran player dominated it for YEARS. All they do is complain about how imba the other races are. But proofs in the pudding, game is balanced or Flash wouldnt have multi championships.
I remember the classic UMS map for this, i learned a lot of stuff i never used practically ever lol but wow that one person in chat just screaming the answers for every trick was getting on my nerves and its not even live lol
These maps showcase such a high level of knowledge of the game from a technical level that even the most gosu pros wouldn't understand, when you're dealing with how the game functions, mad respect to the mappers, had a good laugh at the 1.13b-1.13f patchnotes lul. I played a ton of TD in WC3 and saw a couple in BW but wasn't sure if it started in BW or WC3 - it worked SO well and was SO prolific in WC3 I just assumed it started there. Blizz doesn't make em like they used to.
in case you're wondering how a unit can glitch through all this unpathable terrain the game needs to make sure that nothing is in the same location and since the building/egg etc. can't move at all the unit has to be placed to the neareast pathable spot. also, everytime you right click somewhere the pathing of the unit gets reset to a new path
i wonder if the reason why sc2 has the medivac is because of the medic drop ship heal glitch? i have this great image in my head where the devs just randomly and suddenly remember this glitch, while they're in a creative slump, and that's why we have the medivac.
Did they patch out Templar floating? I remember you formed an archon, canceled it last second, and both templares could float anywhere on the map. 12 year old me thought that was gonna replace storm drops in actual games.
i didn't get the first trick with arbiter and lurker, the one with drones at 18:30, 1:03:25? also now i wanna see tas matches that actually do all these tricks
Oh those are some of the easier ones. The first is just that a drone stops using supply when it is turning into a building, so then you start making a new drone because of the supply free. You still want the first drone though because the aim is to have 3 drones, so then you can the building before it finishes and now you have two. Repeat. This is just like the extractor trick for getting to 10/9 supply early on, which can be done with creep colonies and other buildings too, but extractors have no prerequisite buildings and are cheap to build. The second one you list is just a matter of timing the Irradiate spell for when the drone is about to start turning into a building, in somewhat tight timing, having already given the drone the command to morph into the building.
@@Endelite ok thanks i get it now, in the second case it's just the scourge that appeared suddenly and confused me. and what about putting stasis on burrowing lurker?
@@nanodesu That one seems to just be a matter of timing and to time it correctly you need to use a shift command. I think Artois was moving the lurker and then pressing shift + the burrow hotkey, so that it would burrow with a slight delay. If you just hit burrow at any point, it tries to do it immediately on that spot. He needed to give the burrow command basically at the same time as the stasis command, too close to be able to do that way, so he instead gives a command to the lurker to move and then burrow so that there is a delay. From there he can time the stasis field to hit at the same time as burrow (I think you just press it as soon as possible after issuing the shift burrow to the lurker).

If Arbiter was a Terran unit, they would've used all these broken tricks already. But Protoss players are too busy being successful and banging their 4 girlfriends.
