    Thank you for that detailed description. DataLink in the Apache is , let's say challenging. 😂

      No problem 👍 it’s a learning curve for sure. It took me hours to film this as we got the flow down

    How do you know what FREQ the other AH64s are using?

      have to radio over and coordinate it. In some MP servers they may have all this set in the aircraft already too.

    Good start but bad ending. Datalink doesn't work on manually entered frequencies, only when using presets networks. At 8:30 you cut the video and went from MAN FM2 to a PRESET. Worst, the XMIT NAK means the messaged failed to be sent so something was wrong with your DL setup (page 2-153 from the AH64 NATOPS about the XMIT NAK : At least one of the receiving IDM or ATHS subscribers within the team (or for zone messages, within the zone) did not respond to the transmission on the VHF radio with an acknowledge). So I guess your wingman answered without receiving the message. EDIT : XMIT NAK could be because in MP servers you have a group of 2-3-4 Apaches and not all slots are manned.

      As for the editing, this wasn’t all filmed in one take. I had to get multiple ppl to help at different times hence why the freq are different. That doesn’t take away from the steps/sequencing of it all. Also, I think it could be a bug because despite having a XMIT NAK message we both received messages. So more testing needs to be done. Remembers it’s a brand new feature and in beta

    any word on if it's supposed to work the the AI? Haven't had a chance to take it out in multiplayer, and I couldn't get reports from AI longbows.

      I don't know for sure. Haven't seen or heard anything either.

      Only PP works with wingmen right now but we should be able to get FARM statut. Maybe give orders with the DL instead of the radio menu (hope so)

    According to wags datalink video, xmit nak (not acknowledged) means, that the message wasn't received by the datalink member...

    • @callsigngrimey
      @callsigngrimey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’re right. That’s very weird because in our testing, and while making the video, that message would show up but the messages would still go through on both ends. Not sure I can explain why unless it’s a bug which can be very possible since it’s a brand new feature release.

      @@callsigngrimey Hey Grimey, I was your fellow apache last night. AFAIK the NAK message means one of the recipients in the preset did not receive the message, which could be because the aircraft is out of range/not in line of sight or it's not monitoring the datalink.
      Also, apologies for disappearing on you - I had to get some sleep for an early wake up.
