    Another difference between me and a 40KNL crusher is that I play on NL10. I am not sure if calling down in the slow play line xc flop, cr turn, push river with top pair lousy kicker on a pretty dry board would be such a good idea in NL10. My threshold would be A2.
    I think this play is more a don't try this at home, all you see in this video is done by professionals kind of play. From what limit on would you think this should be a standard calldown?

    So this kind of play applys for extremely experienced Poker players.
    But what happens when my oponnents plays are not as close to GTO?
    - Their range might be "off"
    - Their bet might be "off"
    - They might bet instead of checking
    Anyways thank you very much for the content - I especially liked the consideration of blocking cards on the turn and the resulting decision-making of the villain.

    @lafk-lottyenaforrokave4700 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    i would call too... so this means i belongs to this elit league too. Good to know.
    Let's analize the situation step by step:
    1. Pre flop actions: Malinowski: bet - Barak: call.
    2. Flop two high cards (favoring pre flop agressor, potentially having more strong combos like: pairs: AK, two pairs: AQ, sets: AAA,QQQ), the board is dry, not connected, no flush there, etc.
    Malinowski here checks back. This action in poker on a board like this can have two meaning: I have nothing (underpair in hand, or second pair with the K) or I have a monster hand (at least two pairs or sets).
    3. River is a 6. It's kind of a brick.
    Malinowski this time bets. This represents most of the cases a pair of A or still a monster hand targeting some flush draws, weaker pairs (K), non believer weak hands.
    Barak raises with a huge overbet. The problem with this raise, at this point it can only target monster hands (AAA,QQQ or AQ). Let's say if instead A the Q would be the spade on the board then you can say this oversized raise targets A high flushes, like AK suited. So this is the first moment when Barak made a huge mistake, cause his story already stinks. Malinowski understand this and obviously calls.
    4. River: Barak not stops, he goes again with a huge overbet. So at this point he has to unberstand, if his opponent called on the turn, then he is much more likely falls into the monster hands category. Flush not get there. So the only hand he can target with this overbet is AQ with a 222,333,666 set... but against AAA,QQQ he is fked up. So the only hand you would make this size of overbet is a straight with a 45 in your hand... as you only target monster hands AAA,QQQ,AQ to called. (with AA or QQ in hand you have 2+2=4 combos, with AQ hand you have 3+3 = 6 combos, but you also have to consider if you bet smaller then AK, Ax would call and AAA,QQQ for sure raises and also AQ very likely raises)
    So here what Malinowski had to consider: the only scenario where he can be busted is if Barak on the turn used his equity (note: with an open ended straight draw action would make more sense) improving to a gut shutter and on river he get lucky hitting the straight and now he just targets his possible monster combos and as above explained if he really have a monster combo, but also weaker hands in his range, then why this Barak guy targeting only monster hands? Why he not pretends he is weaker to induce a raise from him or with weaker hands at least get called and payed out. Why he is not scared of monster combos he can very likely have?
    Nobody playing poker with charts, and probabilistics calculations in his head. Some basic math is neccesary, like range theory, know your outs probabilities, blockers, hand combination probabliities, etc. Only cheaters who are using programs rely on this advanced math staff, billions of hands data analysis, etc. This is why live poker is the only clean way to play poker (i know cheaters can be also found there).

    Can overbet strategy be exploited by folding many times and calling with good hands? in this A8 hand, Wiktor loses 3,2k or wins 27,5k. He can patiently fold 5 or 6 times while calling with top 15% of his bet-call range on the turn, and still be in profit.

    • @saulocostapoker
      @saulocostapoker  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah the theoretically approved play is to fold 82% of his range by the river. He doesn't have to find calls with hands like A8. But he did because he thought the other guy was bluffing too much

  • @Stefanburakov
    @Stefanburakov 6 หลายเดือนก่อน
