Great video! Very informative. I just called Jerremiah and he gave me a perfect explanation about what is the embedded navigation system. He is awesome! 5-Star rating!!! Congrats!!!
Thank you Ellerin. I unfortunately don't think there is a way to add stop lights or stop signs to your navigation. As far as contrast is concerned, the only thing I can think of to adjust the picture would be the day/night time modes. By default your navigation should be set to automatically adjust these settings, but you can change them yourself in the navigation settings. Sorry I couldn't be more help
Thank you for the info, and I know that this video is 4 years old so if you dont respond that is ok. I have the 20 traverse with the 3 lt package it has the same system but the icon for traffic is not highlighted, so do I have to have On Star to get traffic? Thank you
Got a question I’m wanting to know if you can get weather service plain like forecast and weather alerts and weather radar that shows on your screen ? Because the older mylink had that service like on 2017-2018 models. If I get like a 2018 model with nav can I still get that service with xm ? If this don’t have it ?
Hello Brian. If your car is not equipped with navigation then you cannot simply download it without having to replace the radio. You can always get navigation through your phone by using Android auto or apple Car play. You can also subscribe to On-Star to get navigation that way.
Is there a way to temporarily pause the navigation if you need to turn off to get gas or get something to eat or drink without listening to the prompts to get back on the road.
Hello Cameron. That is a good question. The way you get to your navigation volume is as follows: Settings/Apps/Navigation/Navigation voice control Hope this helps!
Hello Cesar. It is not recommended to try to add the Heads Up Display if it did not come from the factory. On top of wiring and programing, you would have to replace the dash as well as the windshield. It would end up costing A LOT of money. There are third party accessories available that mount to your dash to give you that HUD experience. It would cost under $100 depending on which model you choose and you can install it yourself.
That is a great question Richard. I believe the number you are referring to is the driver number or the key fob number which ever you want to call it. Your vehicle is programable to "remember" 2 keys fobs. That way if driver 1 and driver 2 have different settings then they wont have to program the vehicle every time they switch. The vehicle will sense whichever key fob the driver is holding and adjust the settings accordingly.
Just got a 2020 Silverado High Country. In working on this system on the way home, we found that the voice volume of the verbal instructions was very low, and could not be understood above the XM Radio which did not mute. Any ideas?
Oh goodness. There is a plethora of things that could be. If you are using in vehicle navigation, your truck should lower the sound of the radio when the navigation speaks. My first instinct tells me that the volume of your navigation may have gotten turned down. Try to turn this up in your navigation menu. You could also reset your truck to its factory default in the settings which may fix your problem. If either one of those things don't fix the issue, my only other suggestion would be to contact your dealer service department.

Hi, I was wondering if my car 2020 Malibu RS . If I was able to replace my infotainment system with one of the premier systems, would the navigation work ?
Hello King. You can purchase the upgraded Infotainment system with built in navigation. However, this is a rather expensive process. Although your vehicle does not have "in-vehicle" navigation you do have several options. You can use ON-Star navigation to have directions sent to your vehicle or you can connect your smart phone with Apple Carplay/Android Auto. The benefits to using these is that you will always have up-to-date directions with traffic events such as wrecks, road closures, or detours. With in-vehicle navigation, you are using a pre-programmed "nav card" that does not update you on traffic events. This system also requires an expensive nav-card upgrade to make sure you are using up-to-date directions.
Hello Lori. You can not delete the navigation button. If your vehicle has in-vehicle navigation, then there will be the nav icon on the bottom of your home screen.
Is a new Blazer supposed to come with the SD card or something that is stashed away that I got to insert? Get an error stating the SD card has been removed from my brand new Blazer.
Hello William. I can't really answer this question without knowing your vehicle, but I will try. The Blazer has several trim levels. If your Blazer is a 2LT, LT, or L, then it will NOT have in vehicle-navigation. The 3LT has navigation AVAILABLE but not standard. The RS and PREMIER trim levels both come standard with in-vehicle navigation. If your vehicle comes with the infotainment system that has navigation then the answer is yes it will have a navigation SD card. Sometimes dealers will leave these in the glove box with the owners manual, so maybe check there. The SD card slot would be located in the center console. If your vehicle has a plastic square covering in this area instead of an SD card slot, then your Blazer does not have in-vehicle navigation. If your Blazer does have in vehicle navigation and you were not given an SD card, go back to your dealer to receive your SD Card.
I can help with that Mark. I am not sure how far you have gotten So I will start from the beginning. 1) Open your navigation and press the magnifying glass on the left side of the screen 2) Input your destination using the search bar at the top of the screen 3) After you have found your destination and pressed the checkmark button, the screen will go to a confirm destination screen. At the bottom of this screen, it will give you the option to favorite the locations. Press the star icon to favorite the location. 4)Now when you open your navigation and press the magnifying glass, you will see a red favorites icon below the search bar. Press the favorites icon. 5) This will take you to a screen with a list of your favorite locations. To change the name of your favorite location, press the edit icon at the top right hand corner of the screen. It will look like a pencil next to an X. 6) On the next screen, you be able to re-organize your favorites, change the name, and delete them. To change the name, press the pencil icon once again. Then delete the current name and type in a custom name. Hope this helps Mark. Let me know if you have any issues.
When you purchased your vehicle, you most likely got a trial period of OnStar. It sounds to me like the trial period is ending soon. You may want to try to contact OnStar if you would like to continue those services. You can do this by simply pushing the blue OnStar button in your vehicle.
If your Sierra has in-vehicle navigation capabilities separate from OnStar, then losing the OnStar services will not effect your ability to navigate from your console. Also, your truck should have Apple Carplay/Android Auto to where you can display your phone navigation to your vehicle screen.
Hello Barbara. This depends on what vehicle you have. Several GM vehicles will have a lot for an SD card. If that is the case, then you must purchase a new SD card then insert it into the slot then your vehicle will update. It is very important that you DO NOT DO THIS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. It could potentially ruin the new navigation card that you just purchased.
tjk6277 that depends on your vehicle. If you vehicle is equipped with IN-VEHICLE navigation then your nav is pre-programmed to your infotainment system. This will not expire, but may eventually become out-of-date if your navigation system is not updated. Some vehicles do not have IN-VEHICLE navigation, but you can still access navigation through ON-Star which is a subscription based service. You can also do navigation to through your phone by using Android Auto/Apple Carplay as long as your phone is compatible with those apps.
@GM Bullfrog hi I have in vehicle navigation on my 21 canyon and my navigation will not except my destination imput it always says, no match found, can you please advise! Thanks
Hello Hamdy. I do not believe in-vehicle navigation is an option on the 2020 Trial Boss. In order to get the in-vehicle navigation, you must have the "Chevrolet Infotainment 3 Premium System with Navigation and 8" diagonal HD color touchscreen" which is not an addable option to the Trial Boss. If you ask your dealer or run your VIN number, this will be code IOT. You should still be able to use Apple Carplay/Android Auto for navigation if you have a compatible smartphone.
@@gmbullfrog1004 Thanks for your reply. Yes Trail Boss has no navigation and I have to use android auto which makes my cell "S20" very hot. I will try to bay an interface or something like NavTool.
Android Auto is more accurate than in-vehicle navigation since it shows road closures, traffic events, ect... If you are having issues with your phone getting hot, try removing your phone case. Many cases do not have proper ventilation and trap the heat in your phone causing it to get hotter than it should. You don't want your phone getting too hot since this will hurt your battery life.

awesome video. so if i buy the update for my 2014 nav, will it look like this? ive been on the fence about spending 100 bucks on it
