So there's no cap for power but there are tyre restrictions. so if your car comes in above a certain weight, you have to have a wider tire. They are judged based primarily on their lead run on how they fill the outer zones and inner clips, if one does better without a significant difference in the chase, they win. they explain it super thoroughly if you watch their livestreams! I went to a Formula Drift event in Orlando a few weeks ago for the first time. It is an unreal experience. You get to walk around the pits, talking to the drivers and mechanics, watching them work on the cars, etc. There are plenty of vendors giving away free stuff and so many cool entertainment trailers. You can get right up close to the track and get blasted by the rubber as they pass by. It is so different from any other motorsport and I love it. You gotta check it out man.
It's super cool going to the FD events. Most of the drivers aren't "give me $50 for an autograph and go away" famous so it's really cool just being able to hang around to pits and chatting with them.
As a competitive drifter I love to see this. I'm constantly zooming out and looking at drifting as whole from many different angles, one being to help sell it to potential new sponsors to help us stay on track. We've always thought as much as drifting has grown it's still on the cusp of blowing up in my opinion. The topic of how large nascar is and the size of the fanbase is something that's always been discussed on on our team. It's also something I like to compare to drifting and it's corresponding much lower cost to operate in the big picture. The potential for nascar fans to get excited about our sport, could be life changing for so many of us who have made it our life to pursue it. More fans, more revenue, more reward, more sustainable. I'm so stoked you liked it man! If you're ever out at the track and see a blue 240 with a driver named will, I'd love to give you a ride to get the full experience haha
As someone who's been watching/going to formula drift events for 5 years this is so cool to see. Someone new who genuinely enjoys the excitement of a tight tandem battle!
Adam lz who is in the thumbnail also driving the yellow and red/orange s15 nissan in the battle against Chelsea denofa is now Chelsea’s teammate at RTR in the mustang’s. He’s a vlogger kind of guy and posts videos every couple of days if not every day. Even during FD weekends he’ll post up video’s about his runs and such. Back in 2019-2021 he had his own team with the s15 until he got signed for the RTR team for 2022 to replace van gitten jnr who has taken a step back from the competitive side of drifting
i cant wait to see how adam progresses this season. the mustang is a whole different platform from anything he's drifted competitively before but last event he seemed really hooked up. just a shame he faced fraudberg

Vaughn has been at the first few rounds over looking everything and has attended and drifted with Chelsea and Adam at gridlife. Cleetus Mcfarland has brought or got his hands on Vaughns 2008??? Championship car for klutch kickers aswell
Adam stopped posting videos during events last year I think. He found out the other drivers were watching his videos because he mentioned changes he was making to his car and driving style so they were getting an advantage on him. Now he posts his videos after the events are over. Makes sense. Got to meet him at STL this year. Super chill dude.

The history of drifting was born from Tazio Nuvolari, the modern discipline made by the Japanese, but if I have not misunderstood the Formula Drift regulations, Nicola Tesini thought of them (I have his school 20 km from home, the first in Europe to bring this discipline). The discipline consists of a course consisting of curves and counter-curves of various radii to be carried out with the vehicle in extreme oversteer, obviously without generating a spin or ending off the road and/or hitting, respecting these rules:
Never let the rear wheels regain grip, otherwise the vote will be reset. Even in the transition from a right to a left curve or vice versa or in the straight sections between one curve and another, the rear axle must never regain grip. Skid must be maintained in straights and created by load transfers through direction changes.
Never realign the front wheels with the longitudinal axis of the vehicle or even generate understeer, otherwise the vote will be zeroed.
Anticipate as much as possible (after having acquired adequate speed) the entrance to the first corner: the more meters you drift, the more points you take.
Maintain the greatest possible skid angle in every single corner along the entire track. The closer the car is to a 90 degree angle to the roadway the more points you take. Also maintain as much counter-steering angle as possible.
Follow the ideal trajectory from speed, calculating however that the car occupies a larger portion of the road and that therefore the individual curves of the curves will sometimes be anticipated compared to when they are made while maintaining full grip.
Go as close as possible with the front or rear to the Clipping Points, which are precise points placed on the outside or inside of the curve. Sometimes they are simple pins, sometimes they are solid obstacles present in the racetrack, such as walls or guardrails. Clipping Points cannot be touched.
Carry out everything with the greatest possible fluidity and speed, respecting all the previous single rules. You will not get a good score by making the route faster than another but maintaining a negligible skid angle, which allows more traction but less difficulty. By fluidity, on the other hand, we intend to carry out everything while maintaining a driving as clean as possible without too many corrections and movements of the steering and the car. This therefore requires enormous control of the vehicle by the driver.
Keep as close as possible to the competitor in front (in one-on-one matches) without touching him, door to door.
All these parameters will be evaluated by the jury and will determine the final grade

at USA, you get Formula Drift, but there's actually a crazier drift event at Japan called "D1GP". It's called "D1SL" before but since the car actually getting more power, it's splitted in 2 different division, now it's neither D1 Lights or D1GP.

@@paulmiranda3281 fact, D1 also contains pure rawness like other Japanese drift event like Drift Tengoku and MSC Challenge, these people even rarely used angle kits, actually making more skillgap between FD drivers and D1 or another Japanese old drift event

I drift a 2007 C6 Corvette, it is seriously one of the most underrated motorsports. The builds are so specific and everything has to be so durable it is insane. Awesome video!!
Drifting is so much fun and also good for the mind as a stress release, I miss it big time. I used to drift my 5ltr 5 speed VP commo with a 377 locker at Clader Park practice nights and it was so much fun and learning on the fly helped car control immensely. It's a shame they don't drift on the flat track anymore

Formula drift is where the 1000hp drift boys plays, you may have noticed the raised front suspension with like 4 negative camber on the front too helps the rear stay planted while the front can turn freely do some huge steering angles
The RWD hatchback was built by Papadakis racing afaik. Watch his build etc videos, will soothe any car OCD. He is a genius who can explain a system in laymans terms casually and shows more in sub 10m videos than some channels ever show.

That Corolla Hatchback is actually built by Ryan himself and it's AWD. He also built a V12 swapped 86 and competed with that for a few years.
@@JJWolf-hb6dn It was was built by Papadakis, it's the same car Fredric Aasbo used, it's not AWD, no cars in FD or any drift competition are and he also never competed in the V12 86, it was always a demo car.

@@Intothemassacre11 Why do you guys even comment when you don't have any clue about anything. Aasbo joined the Papadakis Racing team when Tanner Foust wanted to move on to other motorsport forms. Aasbo competed already in the Scion TC that Papadakis built. After the Scion Papadakis built a Corolla IM that Aasbo drove before they built the new 2019 Corolla Hatchback already in 2018 as they got a pre-production car from Toyota. Aasbo was the driver of the Corolla until Papadakis built the new A90 Supra. That's when Ryan Tuerck joined the team and started driving the Corolla. The Corolla is converted to rear wheel drive using a Toyota 2AR-FE engine that is stroked to 2.7liter and pushing 1000+hp with turbo and nitrous. At first they were using a G-Force GSR transmission and Supra differential, but they switched to a sequential transmission and Winters quickchange diff when Ryan joined the team.
I actually attended 2021’s FD round in Orlando, FL. There were some gnarly runs and a lot of upsets, it was the best racing event I’ve ever been to and I highly suggest it to anyone. Oh and with Orlando being a oval track, the echos of V8s especially just rattle your ear drums, it’s so awesome! I’m a little upset they didn’t include Vaughn Gitten Jr and his teammate, Chelsea Denofa run together from that event cuz on that last outside zone, Chelsea’s tire was literally running up Vaughns door and pushing him across the finish line. And the events don’t just stop at the actual drifting, at a lot of these events you also have car shows with all different makes & models and most booths giveaway free stuff or RTR has a sim setup where you can drift on a game, just so many activities for such a cheap price (think I paid $35 for one day but it’s like $55 for 3 whole days)
You should hear Long Beach lol. stayed in downtown hotel few years back and you'll be awaken early in the morning once practice starts cuz it echoes threw downtown
My favorite driver right now is Rome Charpentier. He is such a cool and genuine person. So much respect for him. I've always been an RTR fan because of Vaughn Gittin but without him, Adam and Chelsea don't really interact with fans unless it's pre-arranged. It's like you're bothering them if you see em outside of that.

I ran into Chelsea during qualifying a couple of years ago in the stands. He walked right up next to me and we talked for a couple minutes about the runs we were watching. Really cool guy, definitely my favorite driver.
Great to see you enjoying the sport! One of the most interesting parts of it to me is how drivers coming from different parts of the world have a different style and approach to drifting based on where and with who they learned, but all of them come together well enough to tandem.
Japanese drivers tend to have very snappy flicks on transitions and technical throttle control in order to stay in the zones.
American drivers generally are most aggressive, with full throttle on majority of the track to create big smoke, noise, and angle,
European drivers are generally some of the smoothest overall and on transition and most cautious in order to be as consistent as possible.
You will definitely be able to tell this if you watch the whole event, and it’s very cool to see the different styles come together in american FD since it is such a global sport nowadays.
With that being said, Rome Charpentier Wutaru Matsuyama, and Dan Burkett (the 90s supra you saw) are some of my favorites in FD Pro. Also, check out d1gp as others have said! there is Japan FD as well, but D1 is a clear indication of the style difference as the track layouts are very different from either of the fd series, and it has had some of the worlds best longtime drivers like Yokoi, Nakamura, and Saito

3:35 It's wild to see these Formula Drift cars in person. I've only ever been to Orlando but you can end up sitting about 20 feet from that banked wall they are right up against and it's insane hearing the cars at full throttle right in front of you.
7:02 The cars today are fully purpose built race cars built just for drifting and have insane steering angle. Back when FD started the cars were obviously modified but a lot more like "normal cars" like you said.
If you go through the roots of drifting... it's from "touge" which was a form of "battle racing" done by pilots looking for the thrill still after WWII. When you look at drifting, it's the automotive form of an aerial dogfight. The angle, dropping into the pocket, losing someone thru the smoke... etc. Drift is super fun, and at FD1 levels is pretty intense.
The toyota corolla actually has a similar wheel base as an S13, the driver ( Ryan Tuerck) mentioned it in one of his interviews.

You mentioned how much you liked fast trucks in the Kamaz video, you DEFINITELY need to scope out the truck Old Smokey F1; it's a '49 ford that holds a Pike's Peak record and is one of the most insane road-race vehicles on the road aside from maybe Rob Dahm's 4-rotor.
You can find his 2020 record run from several perspectives including in-car and heli too!
The FD cars are super gripped up too. Usually far more gripped than you'd run on a road course, low rear tire pressures, massive angle. These cars just flick in at 110mph, on the throttle and the car just digs in. The videos sometimes don't show the insane speed they're carrying as they do all the crazy runs. Side by side, sometimes touching, 80mph and almost 90 degrees sideways
In case no one told you, the jump drift from motorsports moments 3 was a driver named Daigo Saito. Daigo is a fuckin beast, widely regarded as one if the best drifters of all time. And almost unanimously considered one of, if not the most aggressive driver in professional drifting.
I think mad mike would give him a go for aggressive drifting. Watch his d1nz drifting in his n/a 4 rotor fd
just saw Formula Drift in person this year, depending on the track you can get so close to the cars. I was literally 2 feet away from their bumper. The sounds, the smoke, the flying rubber, its all so sick to see in person.
I just started watching this video and Matt Field has been one of my favorite drivers, so I was waiting for the "Is that a Corvette"😂
Aside from formula drift
You can find smaller grass roots fun driving events and smaller competitions in pretty much every state. And the best part, it's literally about having fun. You can ride passenger with people. You can run into each other and usually it's all smiles. I grew up around round track racing until I was 16, and I've been drifting since I was 17. I'm 25 now with no plans to quit.

I loved watching all these on my own but seeing someone new to the sport enjoy it as much as you did just makes it all that much better.

The rules you were asking about:
-Most famous/most used cars for drifting has to be Nissan's S and Z Chassis but more recently some Camaros, Mustangs and Vettes have become ever more popular, especially in the US. Other cars you'll regularly see: BMW coupes including E36, E46, E92 and even some newer ones; Nissan 350/370z and last but not least a few Toyota Chasers in Japan, but they're ludicrously rare outside Japan, though.
-Get as close as possible to the walls, clipping points and lead car without "crashing" into any of them. The term they use is "shadow the lead driver" Arguably, nudging is encouraged. If the front car changes direction of drift, i.e. "transitions", it's the chase driver's responsibility to get their front bumper out of the way of the swinging rear end of the lead car, which is why the chase driver lets up in these clips just before the lead car swings 'round (except Chelsea Denofa lol). There are zones on track where the chasing car is liable for hitting the front car and there are zones where if the lead car goes off throttle and causes a crash, the mistake will default to the lead car. These are basically just insurances so the rear driver keeps his distance where both cars need to decelerate as well as the front driver produces something that is "chaseable".
-The power, oh the power... In the days of Sam Hubinette and Tanner Foust, a good competition car would run btwn 550 and 800hp, that was about 10 yrs ago. Since then, the LS and 2JZ platform have dominated the competition since these platforms are as reliable and easy to maintain as they are. Half the field runs an LS platform, round about half of those are running a 427. Then we get to the power adders.. Turbo&Nitrous are the name of the game by now. Superchargers have the downside of being crank driven, which makes them less suitable in an application where you're constantly on and off throttle. You're chucking a blower belt on almost every run.. Turbo has to spool up and weighs a little more but has become the most trusted, cheap method for reliable power. Then there's the Mustangs from Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Chelsea Denofa, his teammate.. They run a Roush Yates 455 with a 200 shot of nitrous to rev up more quickly. They got the famous NASCAR cylinder heads, I believe they're called "FR9", which are happy as a pig in mud at 8500 rpm on wide open throttle. That setup revs to 9k rpm and it's by far my favorite engine set up out of the competition. Of course, the more ppl use a tried&true setup, there are those that chose to do something *completely* different. That Corolla you saw has a 2.7 Liter 4 banger with nitrous and a turbo making 1000hp. There apparently is a Corolla hatch version with AWD, meaning it's not super revolutionary to convert it to rwd, even though the engine is still in a transverse layout, meaning the crank is 90° shifted from the direction of the drive shaft.. Weird, but they made it work in 2020 and 2021 so who am I to judge!
-Tires have to be road legal!! Sticky, yes, but still DOT legal on your road car! There used to be a limit on tire width in connection to car weight, so a 2800 lbs Viper used to run 305 rear (possibly even wider), now it might be 295 but not super sure about it.

Definitely sophisticated, high caliber builds, almost everyone is in the 900-1100hp range, with some sort of power adder and rear mounted radiators.
The corvette is Matt Field, it's a Texas Speed LS based 427 with a Vortech supercharger.
Vaughn Gittin JR retired and actually builds mustangs for Ford now called RTR (similar to how Saleen and Roush do up mustangs)

I watch Adam LZ a lot and he explains that it’s pretty difficult to stay on the inside of the smoke to predict the lead cars moves but if you get stuck behind the smoke you are done because it’s so thick and so dense that you can barely even see the front of the car

The green mustang Vaughn Gittin Jr was on Nitto NT555 "street tires" making 1200hp. Gold Supra piloted by Frederic Aasbo made about 1100 on the engine that came in the car, the B58. The corolla is actually a RWD swapped 4 cylinder.

Believe it or not the Corrola has a bit longer wheelbase than the new Supra (I think they said it's 5 inches). I'm a fan of the Toyotas, so I know the specs, the Corrola has 4-cylinder Turbo making around 1000hp to the wheels but I know for sure that they are not always running the full power as some tracks do not need it. As for the Supra, it's running the 6-cylinder Turbo (ofcrouse) b58 engine (BMW engine), and this season they are pushing over 1200hp from what the Team owner said.
As for the series, the limitations come in with weight and tire width, so it comes down mostly to driver skill instead of power, but you can see power showing up as a problem on some tracks with long banks. But for more technical tracks like the Orlando, it's mostly down to driver skill which is so much more fun.

I'll always have a soft spot for Vaughn Gittin JR just because he introduced me to drifting way back in, I believe it was, Need for Speed Pro Street but my favorite driver is Odi, he just seems like such a great guy, which honestly isn't rare in FD, Vaughn, Chelsea, Rome, RAD Dan, Mat Field, I mean really most of them seem like pretty chill guys and the sportsmanship you get out of all of these guys is really something you don't see much of in any other sport. When it comes to grass roots drifting, it's such a welcoming group of people, everyone is just car nerds chomping at the bit to show you everything about their car and wanting nothing more than to see new drifters improve so they can get in some sick nasty tandems. It's great people and great fun, I highly recommend to everyone to go to an event and meet some people.
No power restrictions, get as close as you can to opponent & maximum smoke & as close to markers as possible
AdamLZ may not be the best drifter out there, but his come up in the scene to me is awesome. All these pro drifters looked down on him because he was just a 'TH-cam Drifter", and now he's signed to one of the best drift teams there is in RTR. Owned and coached by Vaughn Gittin JR and teamed up with Chelsea Denofa who you seen him going against in this video. He funded his own drift team from his YT earnings and now they just build sick cars together and drift them at smaller drift tournaments. Adam and Cleetus Mcfarland are by far my favourite car channels on YT.

Being a fan of drifting for many years this is the best reaction video I have seen regarding drifting, top notch amazing video. I subscribed, shared, and of course, liked the video! My favorite driver is Tuerck ( the hatch corolla) and I recommend seeing some battles of Deane and Wiecek Battle, they are insane drivers!
the one hatchback that appears is Ryan Tuercks´ corolla, surprisingly its wheel base isnt really shorter than the very common s chassis used(s14 s15) or the corvettes, mustang etc.
They are all around 1000 hp give or take a hundred. My favorite drivers are Chelsea Denofa and Matt Field. They both send it hard every time and have the most style imo. I want Adam Lz to find his groove too.
I refer to those two as “the boys”. The ones the fans want to win!
My favorite drivers are the falken guys, mainly the corvette of Matt Field and the s15 of Odi Bakchis, but the mustangs are insane because of how much angle they have.
you mentioned wheelbase and surprisingly that little Toyota Carolla has a larger wheelbase than the supra. The Carolla also was converted to rear-wheel drive, makes 1000hp like most cars in FD, and is a 4-cylinder. The supra is factory engine style just built to handle 1000+ hp. You should consider going to an event, there are 4 more Formula Drift Events this year. Also, there is a Formula Drift Japan series. there are also many lower-level comps in the US like Klutch kickers which pay 10k to first place every event. Its definitely a crazy sport. Also, there are 2 formula drift series this was pro that you watched, there is also prospec which is a lower series with more restrictions like you can only run a 255 GT-radial tire. Also check out James Deane, he is the best drift driver in the world
These cars are absolutely insane. The fact that almost all these cars make 1000 wheel horsepower is a testament to how far this sport has come.
I was lucky to be able to attend the very first D1GP that was held at Irwindale back in (I believe) 2005. Back then, those cars would be making 450-500 horse max!

If you wondering what spec the corolla hatch is, the car using 2AR engine ( usually came in camry / rav4 ) the car also equipped with big turbo and nitrous oxide, total 1000hp on that corolla

FD fan here. 1000 horsepower average, there is also formula drift Japan. And a lot of other countries have their own version such as d1nz, I’ve been in person at Lake Erie (a track you seen some clips from) and it is epic

Love seeing people in excited about this Motorsport. I just discovered your page. You HAVE to go to an event if you get the chance such a cool experience. So cool looking at all the cars up close talking with drivers and mechanics(when they arent busy).
I've been to the track in Monroe, WA a couple times. Not for formula drift, but for driftcon where it's a mix of amateur, pro amateur, and pro. It's a mix of this 1/4 mile turn and team tandem drifting. It's cool stuff, I've posted some of my own videos from the events but they're obviously not as good quality as the tracks own footage

Every drift car is unique because of the specs on it and all the tunning done
Craziest thing is that the person who is chasing is usually never watching what is going on in their car they’re just feeling the track and watching the car they’re chasing
I knew some guys who were obsessed with backwards entry.. that sht blows the crowd away hahaha
9:56 the trick is to stay close to the guy infront but know when to back off to give him room to transition. if you are too far back you will get lost in the smoke and your just going off of memory

I haven’t actually rode in a formula drift car but I went to an import face off and got the privilege to ride in Chevy c5 corvette, amazing experience, hopefully in the future I can actually see FD in person or maybe even drift in it, who knows, my fav is definitely the gumout hatchback tho
Drifting has come a long way. When I was into it, Formula D was just starting and my buddies and I were just tearing up the streets at night. 😄
Greetings from Japan. So Formula Drift is USA thing and you could say the counterpart for the Japanese D1 so if you want to see more Japanese cars look for D1 videos :)

Odi is just one of the best chase drivers in the game, seems like a really cool guy too. Nothing to the extent of these cars but I'm building a drift car now, swapping an NA/T 2jzge into an s13, I'm about ready to drop the motor in the car and cannot wait!
Really enjoy your content, i think it would be great to see you do a reaction to some nascar highlights of yours, maybe educate us about it. We hardly ever get to see it here in Europe, and if they show it its about a big crash to prove to us that its stupid. I am sure that you can show us something much better.

James Deane is my favourite drifter atm, European drifting seems to be far ahead of us and when they compete in the us they usually win

The hatchback is the Toyota GR Corolla, it's RWD because in the EU market they were AWD, so were able to run it in a RWD configuration, fun fact, it actually has a slightly longer wheelbase than the BMW Supra
It's a regular Corolla. They just rebranded the car this year for the advertising tie in. There isn't a rule in the FD rule book that says the car you start with has to be a RWD. So you can convert any FWD to RWD. That's how Foust's LS powered Passat was allowed.

Love some Chelsea Denofa he has such an aggressive balls to the wall style its incredibly entertaining and he's unstoppable on his day he rocks the in this case gold BC coilovers mustang this season he has a pennzoil livery though and has about 1,100 horsepower under the hood.
The black and gold supra and the red gumout toyota corolla were both built by the same guy, papadakis, and the guy(fredric aasbo) in the supra drove the corolla for numerous years and won several championships in it before it was handed down to ryan tuerk, who is also a certified ripper. The thing still rips. I used to crew in pro2 or pro comp now. Fd events are the best and the wildest for sure.
Judging usually boils down to angle, line, fluidity, and proximity for the chase driver. And there are usually only 1 tire ran by the drivers respective tire sponsor in different sizes based on the cars weight. Itll dictate the biggest tire they can run and then power is made to compliment the tires along with the vehicles alignment, suspension setup, and tire pressures. Of course different tracks come with different set ups for all of the above and the best drivers have all of those things down to a science.🤘
If you end up following drifting after this, check out D1 for sure. Probably some of the best looking and sounding cars with the wildest tracks and tandems. Its a whole other can of worms that uses fish for bait.
Chelsea DeNofa and his RTR mustang is probably one of the best styled drivers in formula drift in my opinion
For the corolla hatch, you can also find this, and some of the previous cars, on hoonigans build breakdown, with fredric Aasbo, who was the previous driver of it (now driving the new supra, buildt by the same guys.)
Also you mentioned it's wheelbase, while it might look short, the wheelbase is longer than all the s chassis etc. so not a short wheelbase car.
I remember going to the worldwide tech raceway for Formula D, it was back in 2021 and I still remember a GT86 going crazy and annihilating the competition by pulling away from the competition, it was sick as hell.
I think what's cool about formula drift is the variety of cars and despite how built they are, you can look at each one and say, that's a Mustang, that's BMW, that's a corvette. As in these are real world cars. Not a tube frame chassis with a shell of a car. Even when you get the same chassis, they could still be built completely different. I.E., one BMW could have a LS and another has a 2JZ. Plus its a skill set that's greatly applicable to real world driving.
The crowd always goes nuts when the cars are side by side back against the wall just looks like there pushing each other

That corolla hatchback is actually longer in wheelbase than you would expect. Corolla is close about 105”… an S15 is about 100”
Formula Drift has a Japan series as well. I watch the US Formula Drift religiously. There are several new cars this year that are certainly worth checking out. There's even a Aston Martin v12 and a Ferrari build. Certainly interesting. Vaughn Gittin Jr. is taking a couple seasons off. Adam LZ (driver of the yellow/red S15 you liked) has a faded livery on an RTR mustang this year. Matt Field runs the Falkin Tire Corrvette and Frederick Aasbo Runs the Rockstar Supra to name a few of my favorite cars. Chelsea Denofa is insane and if I had to pick a favorite driver, it would likely be him. He Runs an RTR mustang. Most of these cars are in the 800-1200hp range, although there is an S14 or S15 that runs pretty well with these guys even though its at a lower horse power range (500-600hp, not entire sure though). Adam LZ was a TH-camr before starting to compete in Formula Drift so there's plenty of build insight from his car and the RTR team's cars there. Certainly worth taking a look.
If I'm not mistaken- that hatchback is a turbo4 pushing 1K+ HP!
Most of them have 800-1000hp. Some have a lot more. With too many engines to name. Although 2j is probably the most common engine. I think the Corolla has one, the bmws and Adam lz Old S15. But it could be anything.
Long wheelbase is good. But smaller cars are more nimble and can transition/change directions quicker. So both sides have good and bad points.
That corolla still got the four banger with 1000hp i think.
No the 2jz is not the most commun. Ls is. The corolla has a 2AR that produce 1000hp. Every mustang is powered by their V8. The Fredric AASBO's supra is powered by the B58. Oh and in this video the Gt86 is powered by a 2AR too.
In the US the LS is most common then the 2JZ. In Japan it is the 2JZ that is the most common then it is the RB26 witch is making a come back in a couple of cars this year.
and in EU it's more diverse than the rest. You have LS, VR, 2JZ, S54
