Is it normal that I can't understand what characters say after many times listening or even meticulously observing their lips?
It's really disappointing...

It is very normal; I think it can be helpful to make the goal to listen for 5, 10 minutes a day as many days as possible. Gradually, it will become easier. Focus on what you can control
