Isn't there a kids against violence movement? A kid recently was killed by his parents. Arthur, he was called and he was killed by a man and a woman

Thank you so much Alice! Yes there must be a shift in the fight against this epidemic. However seeing that MOST of the perpetrators are male along with ( doctors, police officers, lawyers and especially judges) they cannot put themselves in the place of victims. This allows many of these men in legally powerful positions to have no empathy therefore dismiss the magnitude of Violence against Women and girls.

Laws protect us from one another
I'd rather have laws than the other
When the other causes us to suffer
Law is a buffer from a cruel lover
Hiding I cry as he beat up Mother

Wonderful informative and thoughtful video. This issue of violence against women and girls needs to be talked about and reframed this way as a serious pandemic. Thanks for caring so much for the women of this world, Alice.

Whilst I am very much in agreement with the recognition of this issue . . I just wish you had explored the role of culture, age, the influcence of drug and alcohol use and in particular social pressures that put girls in volunerable positions where violence occurs . . . I have seen heavily funded organisations coninually fail at preventing this because they do not fully understand the data associated with VAWG.

I got assaulted and never reported it. Some stranger guy forced a kiss on me and i thought and still think that it is usless to report something like this. I was around 14, the guy was 17-20. I kicked him, but never memorized his face. "Small" assaults like this are pretty common and they are part of the problem. I know for sure police would not do a thing and probably would even laugh at me, or say it was something innocent. It was not.

As a great grandmother, I will tell you that many in the world, arguably most, don’t see this as a problem. Quite to the contrary. Many/most consider that women need to learn their place, that most violence against women and girls was/is deserved and/or asked for. Even, that we need to return to a time when women had no rights, and were understood as having little value. Many in the world who watched a "Handsmaid’s Tale" saw it as utopian, not dystopian fiction.

Why place emphasis on securing the safety of women only as if improving security standards for women only would automatically equal to a better society for everybody while the entire male demography remains overlooked and underserved. If you are going to advocate for peace ,do it on behalf of both genders don't just single out women as if women's lives have greater value or as if men aren't impacted by violence too. A man walking alone at night is equally liable to being harmed/ killed same as a woman walking alone ,and not all perpetrators of violence are men, women do shoot outs ,there are female oriented gangs ,there women who quite frankly are dangerous who roam the streets, so don't dare limit safety rights to just women because not all women are delicate innocent saints line you are trying to present and not all of us men are capable of defending ourselves if we find our selves in a dangerous situation.

Why is it when there is a discussion about violence prevention , are the well fare men always excluded from this?As if society considers violence acceptable when it's just relegated to just men but when violence extends to women it crosses an ethical boundary as if men abide by a different standard than women and deserve less protective measures to protect us than women do .

If you're just talking about violence then i can argue that men are alot more likely to be on the receving end of violence. Even if it's mainly male on male violence where's the TEDx talk about it? From what i've seen there are at least 2 talks about this and 0 about violence against men. Seems like equality to me. :)
