    🚨Hey guys there are two methods to this install.
    If you want a subtle light glow, do it my way.
    If you want a more noticeable bright glow do the install as instructed by F150 LEDS.
    Enjoy the upgrade and thanks for watching!

      I agree with you. I like the idea of mounting them further back for a more subtle look 👌

    Would love to take this premise and have the side mirror amber signal lights come on as running lights when the other lights are on. Very clean installation done with this kit here, good job - “if you’re going to take the time to do it, take the time to do it right”

      @@AutoHeadz The way the new MKII version is designed, it doesn’t look like you could install it this way now. I’m wondering if maybe running a piece of tape up the length of the strip to cover half of the lights might achieve a similar result. Mounting it behind the grid just looks so much better, though. Makes it look like you’re hiding a nuclear reactor under the hood. Lol

      How well does the silicone hold up? That doesn’t look like it will last long. I was about to do mine with epoxy. I came here to see how you pulled the vents. Great install. I think the silicone will eventually break loose.

    Wow great installation idea. I was going to buy the F150leds lights but didn’t like the install the way they presented it - mounted under the rim of the vent - because the night pics showed way too much glare on the door and mirrors. I wanted the light to be more subtle and your method of mounting is superior and exactly what I wanted. Now I’ll buy the lights! Thank you!

    I have a 2014 STX and even tho his truck compared to my truck is night and day with how Ford done things. I think it really gives nice accent with the black midnight pearl paint. I would've gone with a red LED but to which it's own.

      I putting mine in now. What a pain if you have the OEM LED headlamps. I have finally figured out the pins for the wiring harness...which even though the pins are the same for right and left, some of the wire colors are different. My cousin works for Ford and I have the actual diagrams for my VIN. Now that I have all the wiring figured out the question is what is the equivalent name for "side marker" because there is no side marker on the headlamp assembly. The choices are "side select", park, or turn since obviously not daytime running, high beam or low beam. There is also a VPWR that I have not the faintest idea what it is for. F-150leds was trying to help but they were perplexed as well.

    • @AutoHeadz
      @AutoHeadz  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@r7j7t7 lol oh man! Sounds complicated lol. Ok, I can’t say with 100% certainty BUT I am 90% sure it’s going to be “park”. A parking light is always going to be a light that is on 100% of the time and the park light on these F150’s is wired up the same as the side marker…SO..I would assume that for all practical purpose the “side marker light” is considered the “park light”.

    • @frklein1
      @frklein1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, the mounting tape was already coming off the LED’s when I received the kit. I think there’s a better way, but not sure what that is. The instructions were not clear. I think you did a great job the way you did it. I would never have thought about doing it that way. Also, on the 250, you can’t fish a wire up through to the engine compartment. The instructions say to drill an 11/16” hole up through 2 pieces of metal, which I was reluctant to do.

      They make adapters so you don't have to splice into factory wires, lookup Starkey Adapters. Then if you have any warranty work, unplug them and nobody will be the wiser.
