Very Cool Six Nice repair brother theres not many guys that would work on a Synth here ,I have a fender SS Harvard that lasted 35 years or so that needs help but im gonna try my luck with it myself ,no one will touch it and makes sense its not worth fixing but when it was working properly it sounded amazing for years especially the Harvard reverb
Very informative video. You know your stuff. AJ-1 usually suffers from corroded traces on the keybed circuit board. AJ-2 is better for some reason. Both suffer from aging pitch bend wheels that used a plastic hinge that flexes and cracks. Also, EL backlight is known to go out and the transformer will whine. I always rebuild the power supply.
Thanks. The EL on this one is already cactus, but thankfully not making any noise. Customer isn’t too concerned though as he uses an external programmer anyway so the screen is of little consequence.
Unfortunately Australia isn’t eh repository of cool old amps the US is so I gotta take on whatever I can to pay the bills. I’m basically the only keyboard guy left in this part of Sydney.
Disassemble it, clean the switches with contact cleaner and test. If that doesn’t work, potentially worn out switches or worst case scenario, there’s something wrong downstream in the digital side for the muxing.
Super!

Beautiful work 👏
I have an old D50, and one of the preset switches doesn’t make contact anymore. Do you have any tips ?
