Black/white felt really good when i did that one, ngl. Especially if you know some of the fun interactions with bargain. Bargain the princess takes flight to permanently exile an opponent's creature, or bargain cooped up at instant speed after activating its ability to exile the enchanted creature. Of course, black, white, and green are all really powerful and synergistic together, pumping out food and enchantments that you want to get rid of using bargain for extra effects.
You do need to pull well for the deck to be good though...red white can be played with nor rares honestly...as long as pull enough celebration synergy and remova,l most creatures are fine
Got incredibly lucky to pull red-black rats (which i call RatDos) at my pre-release. Lord Skitter + Goblin Bombardment + Impact Tremors was really good. I only lost to a red-black faeries deck, that basically did the same thing I did except with flyers.
I drafted Naya. Went 2-1, losing to (you guessed it) Naya as well, and ranked top 3 at the pre-release I attended. Dimir fairies and rakdos rats didn't have much to say about the firepower in store
gonna just attest to the rest of the comments, UB Faeries is SOOOO dominant and oppressive in this set tbh. both in limited and standard. went 6-3 with UB faeries in the woe premier draft on mtg:a
Ima be honest black should be one. Went 4-0 with a sultai food deck running goose mother and parallel lives. Black is really good at tempo plays and super aggressive strategys. I think red is a better supplementary color.
As a small addendum, if you open or (god forbid youre passed) an Archon of the Wild Rose? Congrats, you're playing white now. If you have even a little support for it, its insane.
Blue is definitely not unplayable, just not where I'd choose to end up. Blue can be a great base for the 5 color control deck with some card draw and counters. A couple of the "prescribed" blue archetypes ended up being traps I think (UW + UG especially).
@casualrob oh yeah it is, you can run some real solid tempo in it, but red black ALWAYS 2 - 1 or 2 - 0 me 😭 I pulled hylda in my first prerelease kit and proceeded to use her as removal baid because I had almost no tap effects (one repeatable and one sorc) but all the tempo I wanted.
This is just talking averages of course, I've found blue black and blue white open a lot of the time and managed to sweep up a lot of powerful uncommons that served me very well.
You will not belive me, but I got 3 booster packs and had in them 3 of this cards: one from red, green and black. I guess I used up all my luck for next 10 years..
When you say best common it means you can draft multiple and it will make your deck better. Dont draft flick a coin unless you are playing 4 colors and even then its not good and your multicolor rare or mythics must be worth it to want treasures play grabby giant instead 10x better

Throwing Rats with Goblin Bombardment is so fun
went almost mono blue and drafted so many counters and stun cards my opponents just kept conceding. I felt dirty

I have a jank green/black food deck for casual standard and when it pops off its fun
Yeah buddy I ran Izzet spellslinger and Rakdos Ratdos. Red was definitely the powerhouse of the pod.

I honestly don’t think blue is that bad. I’ve won more drafts with blue decks than any other color, especially since everyone is avoiding the color.

I agree, people sleep on the Aquatic Alchemist and Obyra's Attendants. I love blue red in this format.
i found red blue creature steal was best for drafting. twisted fealty and cards that give hero or better role tokens are beast

Green got me my first 7 wins with some of the strongest uncommons, if you pick up welcome to sweet tooth or tough cookie early, force green all day.

I drafted mono red the sec I saw flip a coin. I went 0-6. They could not handle the burn baby!
The sweet tooth witch is a damn menace, toss 2 of em in a b/g food deck and life totals go brrr

Blue white was objectively the strongest color pairing with stun and tapping plus counterspells and strong removal. Although it was a close contest
