These beautiful macro shots blow away sense of scale; that knurled knob could have been the size of a manhole cover, but then you see a finger and realize just how great your videography is. Keep it up!
I'm blown away by the details you put into the smallest things. You even make the screws beautiful, knowing that nobody will likely ever see anything but the heads. Great work, I can't wait to see what's next!
Your ability to make high quality, in-focus macro video is almost as impressive as the clock itself! There are times where I forget just how tiny these parts actually are!
Honestly this is one of the only channels I've considered being a Patreon supporter of. Your videos are extremely satisfying, my son LOVES this show and It makes me want to go out and spend thousands of dollars on Milling equipment. One day.
+Matthew Prince Awesome to hear that Matthew, and thank you very much for the Patron support - it will make a huge difference in the scale of projects I can bring you :)
I love your videos but I always end up falling asleep watching them. Not because they are boring, your voice is just so soothing. Keep up the awesome videos.
I, personally, am very excited to see it all come together with that satisfying tick tock. It's been a long road, and you have been very humble to include your mistakes along the way.
Others have done a far better job than I could ever do in praising your workmanship. I simply cannot fathom the level of skill you demonstrate on a regular basis on your channel. Truly a work of art in the making here and I am in awe while simultaneously envious of the skill and dedication you demonstrate in every video you release. Thank you for sharing this!
I pop out to buy myself a chocolate ice cream, I get back home, and a new Clickspring video's been posted while I'm out. Now I'm watching Clickspring while eating chocolate ice cream. Life is good. By the way, thank you for the tip on Rub N' Brite polish. It arrived and the result is just amazing!
Clickspring Yep, the only downside is that it really captures fingerprints beautifully! I presume that's why it's a clock-makers' polish (i.e., not for things that are touched frequently).
Chris, I've got to say, you are BY FAR one of, if not my favorite content creator here on TH-cam. You present everything in such an easy to grasp way, the shots are high quality, your narration is soothing, it all works so well! Can't wait to see your finished clock!
If there was a way to mass produce this kit after you were done making all the pieces, so viewers could assemble their own at home without all the tools, it would sell hundreds of thousands. The Clickspring Clock is an utterly stunning piece of artwork and engineering. Coming along great. You must be so excited to see it finished. I know I am!
+Don S You can buy the components for this clock from Ian Cobb (www.iantcobb.co.uk) and do as you suggest. He will supply the parts finished to whatever stage you would like them - very nice chap too :)
Clickspring No way! That is too cool!!! Thanks Chris. It'd be great to have even as a guide, as I'd still like to keep the dream alive of making my own too, some day.
I love seeing the different techniques for transferring measurements. Not being a machinist myself, it always surprises me how many ways there are to measure and mark.
So close! I can't wait to see the clock finally finished. I'll be watching the entire series again once that happens. Your production value is very good, and I find it very zen like. It's a great way to unwind, especially while the (rather enjoyable) side effects of my anxiety and depression meds leave me incapable of doing much except for sitting on the couch.
Your videos are absolutely incredible. Not only is the subject and craftsmanship first rate, but even the cinematography is simply outstanding. Can't wait for the next one!
Chris, your videography is so good, i find I don't truly appreciate the tiny scale of the stuff until I see your fingers... And then I REALLY appreciate the finesse you have. Gorgeous gear, excellent skills, very entertaining. Thank you.
Yet another beautiful chapter in this story. I am sure that many who will never drill a hole in their lives, are attracted to these clips just because of their almost poetic beauty. And the video itself is crafted with the same skill and attention to detail as the clock. True masterpiece.
Its really hard not to swear watching your videos. Mate, you are an Artist, an Engineer and a bloody legend!! Love the work and the videos. Please keep the fine work up!
Experiencing withdrawal symptoms already, need a clock making video fix! Excellent workmanship highlighted with a satisfying mirror finish. Pro camera work, angles and focus just tops off that artistic part in me, thank you for an exhilarating series.
Mmm, wake up to a new Clickspring video.. I wish I could just get the morning sunshine coming in the window to reflect off those mirror finish parts, but the monitor is in the way ! ;)
Excellent use of silk thread for the pendulum suspension leader Chris, always Enjoy the vids friend, thanks for Sharing another high quality build episode..You,re work is magnificent
Your work is amazing with all of the hand turning you do. I'm super excited for what your clock will look like. Also ultimately project's you start and finish after this one. AKA I'll be here until you get tired of making thing's lol
ah, the explanation on why you only made 5 of the screws finally comes to light! i will agree, the simplicity of the pendulum mount makes it a lot easier then having an adjustable bob on the end that i have seen on other clocks. keep up the excellent and beautiful work!
+kelby bannert Hey Kelby, yes I suspect the thread will have its own negative attribute of stretching over time, and possibly changing with humidity, but it sure is a simple approach! Cheers mate :)
+Clickspring leather if treated right doesnt stretch or change with humidity :) if the silk string doesnt cut it and you're looking for a traditional and natural alternative. dont know if leather is used in clockmaking but in really old mechanics its used where there should be no stretch, like between the helm and rudder on a ship. The silk is beautiful and not at all like leather though, maybe not what you're looking for in the artistic sense....
Wow man, the things you do, the patience, just wow. Superb video as always. Nice angles, excellent narrating with that relaxing voice, and you can hear you're really having fun. It's coming along very well.
Once the clock is finished, make a 24 hour clip of it and upload it to youtube. All we need is to start it at midnight and loop it so we can all enjoy the absolutely gorgeous clock of yours... :)
it's not until you see the toothbrush or the super glue nozzle that you realise how small some of this stuff is. really amazing work. can't wait for the next instalment!
it was lot too long after watching my first clickspring video that i bought my first lathe, and this series has really inspired me and influenced my machining. Thanks for the videos Chris, cheers mate.
As others have already said, I really enjoy watching these videos and can't wait til the next one comes out. I love the craftsmanship and the attention to detail. The quality of the videos is just superb. It is obvious you put just as much care into making the videos as you do the clock parts. Definitely some of the best, if not the best, quality videos on TH-cam.
That hand vise looks incredible! Man, I wish I was in the position to support your work more directly! For now I'll just have to continue watching ads and telling people about you. Thank you for your inspiring work!
awesome Chris! just sat and watched this before setting out to work on a sunny Friday morning! If I wasn't already in a good mood cause it's Friday this would have put me in the right frame of mind but as it is it's Friday and there's a Clickspring video to watch! My week couldn't have ended any better! Cheers Chris, I just cannot wait to see this baby finished!
I've posted how much I enjoy your videos before, but I thought you might like to know that I've since taken a lathe course, and I'm learning milling. I hope to do the Gyro project soon, as well as many other little projects. Following your Patreon build too. Keep it up, we all LOVE your work Chris.
its really impressive how you're making really high quality videos of your own projects. These are really nice tutorial quality videos with b-roll and everything.
I always audibly gasp when you release a new video! Great work once again! It's interesting to see some non-metallic material added to the build and I'm glad you go to do so much hand turning this video! Can't wait for the next video!
+Nina Milliken Its really an interesting way to suspend a pendulum isn't it, especially when you compare it to more sophisticated ideas like knife edges and suspension springs. Love the low tech ideas! Terrific to have you watching Nina
In school for machining and decided to search for some videos. Without a doubt my favorite channel! I'm amazed at the quality and ingenuity of your tools and parts. Subscribed and enthralled.
+Clickspring Thank you for taking the time for making and posting these videos for us all. Without your video on the pinion depthing tool, I would not have had known of a quick and accurate method of placing gears on a project I was working on.
I find I watch the entire video and dont realize the time is past. These videos are completely captivating. Great job!
These beautiful macro shots blow away sense of scale; that knurled knob could have been the size of a manhole cover, but then you see a finger and realize just how great your videography is. Keep it up!
True that. I have to keep reminding myself how small some of these pieces are.
It's crazy, you see some parts and think 'ok thats about 3" long' then the next shot he pics it up and its like 1/2" lolol
When that day comes when this clock is done - PLEASE don´t stop making youtube videos =) Your channel is by far the most enjoyable on youtube.
+Lillebroor Definitely more to come, next project to follow this one is in development now, very much appreciate your support mate, thank you :)
These are by far the sexiest metalworking videos in the world. The production quality is simply stunning.
I'm blown away by the details you put into the smallest things. You even make the screws beautiful, knowing that nobody will likely ever see anything but the heads. Great work, I can't wait to see what's next!
+Drew Almy Thanks for watching Drew :)
This series is awesome. Even if you don't have a mill or lathe the videography is worth watching in itself.
The simple machine involving the rope contrasts nicely against the complex machine that is the rest of the clock. Beautiful.
This artist should have well over 169,129 subscribers. With videos and content like this, Clickspring should have millions!
Your ability to make high quality, in-focus macro video is almost as impressive as the clock itself! There are times where I forget just how tiny these parts actually are!
+Mark Speir Great to have you watching Mark :)

I, personally, am very excited to see it all come together with that satisfying tick tock. It's been a long road, and you have been very humble to include your mistakes along the way.
This is the only channel on TH-cam that I gladly disable my Adblocker, watch the full ad, AND click the ad. Love your work Chris, much respect mate.
+Iron Valkyrie Ha ha! Cheers IV, next thing you know you'll be a patron! Cheers mate :)
Every time I watch the videos in this channel me proud to work with machining and motivation to do better every day. Congratulations to Clickspring!
Gotta admit, goosebumps were had while you were putting the parts together at the end. Thanks for documenting your work!
+linkah Thank you for taking the time to watch :)
That is the absolute prettiest blueing ive ever seen in my life
I pop out to buy myself a chocolate ice cream, I get back home, and a new Clickspring video's been posted while I'm out. Now I'm watching Clickspring while eating chocolate ice cream. Life is good.
By the way, thank you for the tip on Rub N' Brite polish. It arrived and the result is just amazing!
+TheHue's SciTech Its an awesome polish, nothing else comes close :)
Clickspring Yep, the only downside is that it really captures fingerprints beautifully! I presume that's why it's a clock-makers' polish (i.e., not for things that are touched frequently).
+TheHue's SciTech So true! Final handling with finger cots is a good solution.
Not what I was expecting when I heard pendulum. This is really neat. Cheers, Clickspring!
Chris, I've got to say, you are BY FAR one of, if not my favorite content creator here on TH-cam. You present everything in such an easy to grasp way, the shots are high quality, your narration is soothing, it all works so well! Can't wait to see your finished clock!
+Robby Anoos Cheers Robby, very much appreciate the kind words, thanks for taking the time to tune in :)
+Robby Anoos "by far" and "one of" are a bit of a contradiction though
+Clickspring - You my good Sir are an artist! Not just a machinist an artist! I could watch your videos all day. Keep up the good work buddy.
Damn. It all comes down to a bit of silk! Excellent Click!
+KillerKane Cheers mate!
Ugh gotta wait for another 3 or 4 months for the next video. Love the channel hate the wait.

Ganzes Herstellungs Prozess ist ein Traum, für viele. sowas zu können wäre super. Respekt an den Mensch der das alles macht
Chris, You're not a machinist, you are a magician, your creation are pure magic, and i'm hypnotized
I never get tired of watching you blue the screws! It's amazingly beautiful!
Great to have you watching Leo :)
I've watched them all but every time I am still astonished by the quality of production and attention to detail, as always Great job!
All I thought I really can make a home clock by my self, but I found that I need a fortune to buy tools and high skill to do it, Great work, thank.
Thank you.
+BrokkenFrepz Terrific to have you watching mate :)
Yet another beautiful chapter in this story.
I am sure that many who will never drill a hole in their lives,
are attracted to these clips just because of their almost poetic beauty.
And the video itself is crafted with the same skill and attention to detail as the clock.
True masterpiece.
+Oren medicks Terrific to have your support Oren, thank you :)
These are far and away my favorite videos on TH-cam.

Thanks very much for the encouragement mate, much appreciated :)
With an love of machining and clocks I find your channel very enjoyable. Keep up the fantastic work.
out of everything I watch on YT these days. This is probably the only one I really anticipate :) I cannot wait to see the finish product.
Every time I watch these videos I feel the urge to run to my own mill and lathe and make stuff!
Experiencing withdrawal symptoms already, need a clock making video fix! Excellent workmanship highlighted with a satisfying mirror finish.
Pro camera work, angles and focus just tops off that artistic part in me, thank you for an exhilarating series.
+Kabodle Mike Great to have you watching Mike :)
Mmm, wake up to a new Clickspring video.. I wish I could just get the morning sunshine coming in the window to reflect off those mirror finish parts, but the monitor is in the way ! ;)
Elegant work and excellent photography and clear explanations. It does not get better than this. Practical eye candy and pure enjoyment to watch.
I'm still in awe of the skill and dedication you demonstrate in each and every video. Thank you for making them.
I really enjoy the Aussie pronunciation of Stub arbor. Stah-Baba.
A joy to watch your work as always!
I'm terrified of you actually finishing this clock someday!
+Practical Renaissance He told me he would build more things
think about it, when he finishes this one, he'll start a new project.
+Practical Renaissance Still quite a way to go, at least 5 more episodes. The next project to follow is in development now, Cheers mate :)
Hello!
I'm watchmaker of 34 years. What we do is amazing

Dear Sir, you took machining to an art form. Kudos for the great work !
Another outstanding video in the series. I'm thoroughly addicted to these.
YES! New Clickspring video! Morning made!

Yes! Hurry up! Also don't ever finish! I want more and I don't want it to stop, unless your next project is at least as interesting!

Great work and video, Criss. Always looking forward to see your progress on the clock.

I realize now that you're getting close to finishing this project. I'm really going to miss it. Can't wait to see what your next project will be!
+TheJessassin Still 5 or 6 episodes to go on the clock build, next project well into development looking good so far :)
Glad to hear! Keep up the fantastic work!
I can't wait until this clock is done.
its really impressive how you're making really high quality videos of your own projects. These are really nice tutorial quality videos with b-roll and everything.
Those screws are works of art. Beautiful!

+Clickspring Thank you for taking the time for making and posting these videos for us all. Without your video on the pinion depthing tool, I would not have had known of a quick and accurate method of placing gears on a project I was working on.
