This show has some strange pacing. You can clearly see who the favorites were. Kouji gets a whole episode to himself to fight a battle you know he'll lose. Shion finally truly overcomes his rival in an episode of his own. Even Tayou, some kid who was barely used a plot device, got a whole episode to battle some snot nosed brat with a hero complex just to wrap up his own development that wasn't even fleshed out to begin with. Toko and Am had to share an episode because the writers knew nobody cared enough about the characters themselves and needed to get shit wrapped up. All Tokoha does is say what we were all thinking and then promote Neo Nectar cards and Am just comes out of the closet and begs for her girlfriend to come back. Hell, the bad guy gets a better story than the both of them combined.

The perfect life these guys are trying to obtain is just putting everyone to sleep by sacrificing planet Cray and they dream whatever their desired life would be.
