This is one of the better blends that I’ve found for my espresso machine. I like the balance and body. Not acidic, not bitter, with upfront bittersweet chocolate and a sweet lingering finish. But I don’t like “bright” (sour) or dark roast (ashy) flavors, so this medium roast suits my preference.

Just bought this and i had to watch a review to make sure it wasnt just me. Super light roast. The starbucks medium roast is much darker. Made it using my aeropress and same results as you got.

I found this coffee to be a pain to dial in as an espresso. When it comes to local roasters, I like Klatch more. They’re more expensive, but every once in a while, I treat myself to their coffee. I would highly recommend a single-origin coffee if you can find one decently priced.

Most of these post Starbucks new wave craft coffees are extremely light & often sour The logic is that over roasting eliminates the unique flavor profile of a finely crafted bean. That might be true, but Italians have preferred actual darker roasts for hundreds of years. This gave them plenty of time to experiment with various roasts to find the best way to go about it. Their cuisine is world famous, so they have a palette. The actual truth might be that lighter roasts are cheaper to produce, less time in the oven means higher volume per day & lower electricity bill. There is now a 4th wave of coffee, going back to darker roasts & branded with machismo. Black Rifle & Death Wish are two examples trying to corner the hairy man demographic, but you're basically just paying a premium for Italian roast.

For some reason, the song "Cat Scat Fever" comes to mind...

I don't think this is a review. First this is espresso coffee and it looks like you drink filter coffee or you are using a French press. You talk more about the cat than coffee. Sorry!

Is this coffee arabica or robusta beans? I’m inclined to think they’re robusta.I was also surprised to see light beans. Sorry to say it’s not what I expected and probably won’t buy again.

Arabica. It’s a blend of honey-processed from Brazil and washed from Colombia.

Wow, you strayed far from the promised subject. I cannot tell what you think about this coffee after watching the eleven minute movie.

I'm drinking this exact coffee right now. I too had to make two pots. My normal ratio is about 14 parts water one part coffee. This did not make coffee. Coffee scented water. Maybe. I doubled my coffee and that created a drinkable cup. Like Folger's or something. Not worth the money. I think you pay for the fancy bag.

Great video, really helpful. I don't think I will be buying this. My go to is Folgers Black Silk, its tastes very nice to me.
