Well, sometimes that's what the owners have to do to relate or bring themselves down to the animal's level. I see many other animals from the wild owners do things like in a playground they wouldn't ever do but it's all in psychology. I see owners talk silly talk to the animals bc this is what the animals feel and can much better relate to. Sometimes the owners have to step out of their norm and comfort zone and be other than who they really are to pull out of the animal's characters' likes and dislikes. Everything is by "TRIAL & ERROR"

I wonder why she was afraid of the bubbles. Bubbles are so cool at least to me as a human. Gerda wasn't afraid of Messi's pose hissing. He was just showing off, almost like he said hello in hissing. He was later hoped he can surprise her from behind but didn't do it. The behavior of both is wonderful there is a great progress.

But if she can be near him without fighting or starting a chase, then I consider that a progress in the relationship of these two predators. Gerda probably view Messi as one of her pack. I wonder why she was afraid of the bubbles. Bubbles are so cool at least to me as a human. Gerda wasn't afraid of Messi's pose hissing. He was just showing off, almost like he said hello in hissing. He was later hoped he can surprise her from behind but didn't do it. The behavior of both is wonderful there is a great progress.
Gerda is not so curious as Messi. She usually scared by anything new

But if she can be near him without fighting or starting a chase, then I consider that a progress in the relationship of these two predators. Gerda probably view Messi as one of her pack. As Cheetahs like Lions are social animals. Messi on the other hand, has a combination of fear and curiosity towards Gerda. He is taking more of a step back approach. Make sense as Cougars are solitary animals. In exception when he wants to play with her.

Gerda's look in response to the bubbles says "Is Dad ever going to grow up?". I watched an old video yesterday, why doesn't Gerda have a soft bed in her room like she had when she first joined the family? She seemed to enjoy it.
I agree with you. I'm sure her bones felt comfy on it but she was urinating on it too much so they got rid of it.
