This palette is gorgeous! Your eye looks are amazing! I’m so into the duochromes/multichromes, and the indy brands definitely know how to do them. Btw, your boys are adorable! I give you so much credit for being so involved with them, as well as being a teacher. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I'm a fourth grade teacher too. We are expected to differentiate and remediate in small groups. Yes we are making it fun shuckin and jivin but they still have to learn what we're teaching. Teaching and learning go together. ❤ The palette is gorgeous.

Oh Kara, you finally came on board. I first discovered Ensley Reign about 6 months ago. I ordered the Harvest Moon palatte on the 2nd preorder. The palatte sold out in minutes on their launch. I love this brand, I know that they are expensive, but… the multichromes, duochromes, and metallics are very expensive to make. I am going to order the new palatte they just launched, I will use your code.

I LOVE all the looks you did. So much so, I couldn't pick a favorite. I have this palette also. I haven't used it yet though because of the price (still irritates me). I'd much rather have a mirror and regular pans. I feel like the more popular indie brands get, the higher their prices get. I ordered the Twisted Tea Party and it's only $5 less, less shades, no mirror, whyyyyy??? And they can't ever keep anything in stock. If you're charging astronomical prices, the least you could do is have enough in stock. 😅 BUT I do love it, it's pretty, and at the end of the day, I am glad I own it. Now I want to play with it and recreate your looks. You look always look stunning!

At an $88 price point i’d still like a mirror I like the door crumbs in that but I always have to buy stuff on sale because I’m retired and on a budget and that’s why I love Sydney Grace so much because they always have an excellent price point but at this point I own so many pallets and I’m not an influencer I don’t have a channel and I just bought more at the Sydney Grace restock. I’m gonna hang tight for a while but that’s why I love watching your channel the nomad pallet and there’s a clarity cosmetic palette that I’m interested in.
I definitely understand having a budget and trying to manage our makeup wants! There is so much out there and I’m really trying to merge the old with the new because it’s sooooo tempting. I definitely would have loved a mirror in this one.

On the teaching part, it's so bad at the college level. Students come in late every single class, on their phones, just not doing homework. And it's all their option! They can love my class and still go home and just chose to do nothing 🙃 I tell them I'm a just have to see you next semester hun 🖤🖤
Dah!!!!!! Maybe Black Friday??? And that’s sad that at the college level they can’t get it together! Sadly, I think it comes from lowered expectations in elementary, middle and high school.

I love the third look the most but they were all beautiful!! But this palette is too rich for my blood lol. Thats a good point you made about not telling the kids when you arent feeling good. Because you know theyre not gonna take it easy on us lol. I hope you feel better!

Look 2 was my fav bc of how well u matched it to ur beautiful cardigan.
I thought about it and decided to go w the preorder. 😁 The darker shadows will be perfect in winter for me and I love the overall color story. I don't have many multichromes (bc I can't justify $17 for singles 99% of the time), so this is great, esp bc these were shades I was already interested in.
I'm a magnetic palette lover and prefer magnetic pans over a mirror (tho both is best 😅). I love magnetic palettes bc 1) I travel to friends' and family a lot so I will curate palettes for trips. 2) I need to be able to rearrange shadows if the original placemt bothers me. 3) Sometimes I just like to see if I can make a color story that pop's into my head or if I can dupe another palette by placing indv shades into an empty palette.🎨🖌️
I love that my CP, Unearthly, and Adept palettes are magnetic. When I found that Nomad was not magnetic, I decided I would only buy singles from them going fwd.
So.... I understand not everyone has $88 to spend and times are hard for lots of ppl, but for what is in the palette compared to other brands, it is def worth the price. Whether it's worth $88 when someone already has similar shades or is on a tight budget depends on their situation tho.
I'm guessing the only way that would make financial sense for ER to bring down the price would've been to condense the palette to 18 or 15 shades. But it seems like smaller brands tend to start out w bigger palettes (I assume it's bc there's a more survivable profit margin when making larger palettes). 🤷🏻♀️

I ran some numbers to compare for anyone interested:
The Adept x Heather Austin palette is a good comparison bc it is also a multichrome palette w the same ratio of shimmers to mattes (2/3 shimmers, 1/3 mattes). The palette is also magnetic, but w a mirror. At $56 / 12 shadow, that's $4.67 per shadow.
If u take $4.67 per shadow (+mirror) for 21 shadows, ER's palette would've been 💵 $98 (maybe more like $93 since a mirror is prob not a $10 price increase from $88).
If we calculate by single pricing, let's avg the shimmers to $15/shadow (reg, duochromes, multichromes, and holichrome, normally $10-$19) and the mattes to $6/shadow. That's ($15 x 14 shimmers) + ($6 x 7 mattes) = 💵 $252. Just the shimmers by themselves would've been $210. 😱
Heyyyyyy thanks for commenting! I agree with everything!!!! Some look at the bottom line regarding the price and some look at the price per shadow! I definitely agree that it’s worth it if you look at price per shadow. The performance was awesome and I loved every matte shade. Being magnetic is a huge bonus and will allow you to condense the palette or build your own etc… I think you will really enjoy it!
Try the NYX glitter glue I have somewhat hooded eye is more on the outside, so they are hooded downturn kind of on the outside but not on the inside. Weird I know anyways that NYX glitter glue works really really well. I learned that from Jen Phelps
I like the Nyx glitter glue for my hooded eyes too. Especially because I also have oily lids I've found.

You make me want this palette, BAD! Gorgeous looks. ❤ I love how passionate you are about teaching! ❤ My Son is 28 y/o now but, he had an IEP in 1st grade. He was undefeated in math around the World challenge. He had a hard time reading and comprehension. But, at Fifth Grade something clicked. Fourth grade was so tough. I think 1st and 4th were our challenging years academically. We had a mean 2nd grade teacher that didn’t like boys and especially didn’t like boys with IEP’s. I love and appreciate teachers that are compassionate and care about their kids. You are amazing, Cara!

Thanks so much for splurging on this palette, and the great review! I too have been drooling over ER palettes, IIRC since the Midwinter Dream one (?), but refrained b/c of the nauseating price tag.
Must say I'm very near putting it on my WL now though (maybe for BF? Same as you), but smt that still makes me balance on the fence is the lack of transition shades. ALL the mattes pretty much are deep dark ones. I am of Mediterranean coloring, to give you an idea (MAC NC25). Any comment to my trepidation?
The 2nd, 4th and esp 3rd (!) looks were beautiful, in any case. Sweater dress too, very cool! Wearing your hair up is also really cute. Very important take on schooling no less; thanks for the work that you do as an engaged and caring teacher (and parent) as well.

I do feel like a fluffy blending brush and a light hand would allow those mattes to be blended out but I do understand your caution. The KKW palette that I used for the mirror was one that I created and I did a video on it a couple of months ago I believe. I liked that her palettes were magnetic and love using them to make my palettes!

Oh my gosh, preaching to the choir. I had such a range in my math classes when I taught middle school especially. And the curriculum we had was meant to teach kids how to do fractions as if they had never seen them before, even though they all had, but some still had no idea and others who knew it all already: how can you teach them all the same curriculum?
It’s really hard and even in small groups, the rotations are so short I don’t feel like I accomplish very much. It’s such a challenge especially when many students are working below grade level.
