    yummm! as a mexican i can recommend to use a piece of onion with oil for the grill instead of the napkin ;-) makes a big difference and it'll infuse your grill and food!!!

    It's either this or the Vegan Halal Guys video that is my favorite of yours. Your marinade recipe is tops! I often just use 3 bags of Beyond Steak (which often goes on sale) to skip the seitan part, and cook that until slightly browned, and then into a container where I will drown the "steak" bits in that delicious marinade overnight.

    Hope you're feeling better, Burger Man! The carne asada looks fantastic! I'm not a big fan of seitan, but I might just have to give this recipe a fair chance

    Instead of soaking paper in oil, dip an onion cut in half and grease up the grill with it. then you can leave it on the grill for some delicious grilled onion action

    Hey Thee Burger Dude! This looks great!! Did you ever try beet powder or grated beets for the red dye? It might taste rooty, like beets, but sometimes beets are sweet. And they definitely add nutritional value. Can't wait for your book! Thanks for the inspiration.

    What kind of lentils did you use? Because there are different kinds if you want them to hold there shape well or softer mushy, brown, green, red. Trader Joe's Whole Green Lentils. Trader Joe's Red Split Lentils. Trader Joe's Indian Fare Madras Lentils.

    I am not vegan… but love the videos. Just winging it here: but would it be maybe more realistic by stretching the seitan, that you end up with strands (like the coarse meat fibers in skirt steak)?

    • @TheeBurgerDude

  • @AxonMediaSeattle
    @AxonMediaSeattle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, I'm gonna have to try this out! Would you have any interest in doing fajita and gyro marinade recipes for seitan chicken (chickwheat)? I find that seitan is pretty absorbent, so I've been trying to figure out how to flavor the base protein properly for a future marinade. Mostly I'm concerned about the seitan retaining too much salt. That usually results in me getting a big headache the next day.

    My lady’s favorite food is tacos, and she’s on a seitan kick right now. This is perfect… for her. Sometimes her seitan is chewy and seemingly uncooked, like it doesn’t set up, even after lots of steaming, any help?

    • @TheeBurgerDude
      @TheeBurgerDude  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say like in the video, just make sure you don't over process and knead it. I made a couple where I did and it came out super chewy, so just mix and knead enough until it's combined. Resting overnight seems to make it better as well.

    • @MrHandsomeboynow
      @MrHandsomeboynow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheeBurgerDude have you not heard the opposite though? Like making seitan is supposed to give you a nice arm workout? Think we’ll deliberately work it less and see what happens. Thanks!
