I was a little disappointed it was just hiding a radio, but less disappointed when I realized I can place a jukebox, and then hide a bunch of radios to give my settlement bar surround sound
When I built Vault 88 the first time, I put a jukebox outside the canteen, which meant that the music reverberates throughout the atrium. It creates a really unsettling effect, for some reason >_> Eerie classical "elevator music", and all those really mellow, happy vault dweller settlers. Makes me expect something horrifying to happen anytime.
re: vault 88... I put food to harvest everywhere and cooking stations, and 40 beds! But they all keep telling me they wish they had some food. I think the overseer's experiments screwed them all up. Just what I need. I gave every last one a Shielded Vault 88 Jumpsuit. One even jumped ship. That shielding upgrade took a long time and I still have tones of suits because both them AND the pip-boys respawn, SO I also have a ton of brand new pip-boys, which I cannot trade my old one out for (dang!). I was thinking of giving them to certain settlers, like the "You do your job and I'll do mine" chick at the castle. So far, the legendary quad crank laser I gave her is in her trade items list instead of her hands. I'll bet she would use a pip-boy right away though.
i dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
5:45 I've noticed something similar before with the orange vault ashtray vs the vanilla postwar ashtray and also a few other pre/postwar items when using my rug drop technique (basically a way of levitating an object in the air while still keeping it attached to a rug on the ground) You'd think the items were simply re-skinned for vault tec but it appears some items were reworked more then that.

I wish I had thought of this way back when I first started playing!! Love the idea Paul, great job! You could use the wood floor rug glitch so the speakers don't drop so low. Could also add a third one right in the middle but use a thicker floor rug glitch so the light and maybe even the nobs sick through the front of the jute box. I always hated the classical music on the jute boxes.
Nice pal! Yesterday i was getting back to fallout 4 waiting for 76, and the first thing i did is search for this, cause a jukebox playing classical music in my garage? No way.
Hey Paul, i know how old this video is and u may or may not b aware but theres a little trick u can do to prevent items from sinking using the rug glitch. Once u have your item where u want it (while its still on the rug) select it, cancel, then store the rug its sitting on. I learned that from Sardeliac. He was an honorable mention in your building contest i believe.

Great work! Thanks for the tips. I've found some on my own, mostly by accident like the settlement-size reduction by storing items, but the Jukebox/radio one I had no clue! Nice. This will work excellent for my abode in Diamond City...
You might try rug glitching the jukebox onto the radios then group selecting them to move onto the rug+floor glitch, so that way you can still have the little yellow lights in the bottom

was just doing this last night actually, glitching the warehouse doorways into the building down in jamaica plains. something very fun about restoring the walls and roofs of all the broken down pre-war houses. i tend to use several pillars to make a "glitch armature" similar to how you use multiple rugs.
Funny you should say this. Tomorrow's posted video features my new school set at Jamaica Plains. LOL. But reading this comment now reminded me that I forgot to install the nixie tubes on the new set. Will have to do that for the video after. Oh and you'll dig my upcoming pillar glitch video. I have a take the "glitch armature" that I think you'll like. I didn't think of calling it an armature though. That's a good one. I called it a chassis in the video.
it always seems that if you have 2-3 pieces over before the manipulation piece you get a LOT more leeway on the clipping. the game engine only seems to detect the working pieces and anything immediately "attached" to the working pieces. tertiary and further objects that are also picked up seem to be completely unnoticed.
Only problem with this is that the volume is so much lower on radios than on jukeboxes. I can't get radios to play so that you can hear it clearly over the background noises.
I know what you mean. That's why I used two of them simultaneously. You could even add more. You also have a radio volume slider in the settings that you can bump up. :)
legspider8 I built a 3 level treehouse hotel in Sanctuary. On the bottom a workout area Nuka Cola machines the eye thing and other happiness stuff. With a place for settlers on the second with hallway ends facing out and behind those right in the middle around the tree is a hidden middle room for me. With a powered door and all the workshops and displays for my weapons magazines bobble heads power armor that hasn't been stolen since and other stuff. A nuclear generator on top with hallways to all over Sanctuary. And a lot more ands.
I've rug glitched a small generator inside of one of the ice containers to get the little motor sound that they have
