We reuse our grocery bags for garbage & other uses, & often have bags of bags hanging from doorknobs off the kitchen & pantry. When I feel that they are taking over my space I actually throw them out. I empathize with those people whose trash you are sorting; the man was living alone in a house with lots of space. It was easier for him to shove a bag in a closet than to throw it out. The thought is - I might need this...
If h&m clothing store is open after this tragic times, they take all fabric to recycle. It just needs to be washed. Damaged is ok. I love going thru bags like that! Always an adventure!! Thanks for the content! Be safe and stay well! Thanks for sharing!!!!🌸💜🌸💜🌸. PS. I have done well selling soaps like that. Now I would hold on to and use!
This couple must have been around in the 30s my grandma was and saved everything. People who was raised during the depression knew what it was like to have nothing. They kept it just in case. If you hemmed a pair of pants you kept the extra just in case they needed a patch.
Years ago, my late dad and I cleaned out a neighbor's basement...talk about bags...and another bizarre find, stacks and stacks of the old aluminum TV dinner trays...hundreds of them! Among other things: 10 old water heaters...lengths of rusty galvanized pipe and bundles of old clothes...and one mumified cat!! Tons of old lumber...some of which was fine wood...walnut, mahogany, cherry and ironwood. Still have some of that stock...as i did a lot of vintage radio cabinet restoration. An old timer which would turn lamps on automatically. Those scrap pieces are electrical conduit fittings as far as I can see, try selling them at the flea market. The old AC adapters could sell as well...old cassette recorders, radios and other older items used these. I found a couple of these some time back for my older equipment. Hope no mumified creatures in any other bags you may run across!
No more bags, that was the last of them. A mummified creature would have been something to come across, that's for sure! Too bad the basement you cleaned didn't save the old TV Dinner boxes, they probably would have been neat to see and I'm sure people out there collect them!
I remember those old TV dinner cartons...the dinner pictured always looked more delicious than the actual product! Swanson was the king of TV cuisine!!
Hi Renee!! I have really enjoyed seeing what you've found in these bags!! It reminds me so much of my grandparents! They would be 96 and they served in WW11. They lived through the great depression and they saved everything!! Twist ties, bags, when clothes got old they would cut them up and use them as dusting rags, just every little bit of anything that could be saved or reused! 💖💖
The pipe cleaners were a great find, I also would have kept those. People of that generation were the original reuse/recyclers. My great Aunts also cut out their address labels to reuse. They even reused foil- folding it up, saving it in a pile...so many things. I guess us thrifters and junkers just carry on doing a kind of version of that. It's all so wonderful! 💗 Be well young lass! 😊
I have never seen so many bags within bags! Even though there weren’t too many treasures it’s always fun to watch. I like the anticipation of what’s to come. The toilet seat was too funny. I did not expect that!
My mother would take my dad's worn out pjs and underwear...yes underwear, cut it up or ripped it up to use for dusting with a name brand furniture polish.
I do that, too. Well, just my own. T-shirts and old cotton underwear are great as rags because they are super soft. Cotton socks are really great though. I turn them inside out so the soft terry like fabric is on the outside, slide my hand in and use them to clean mini blinds or put some polish or wax on them and polish furniture!
Many elderly people with Alzheimer's or Dementia have a fascination with bags, tissues, material and paper alike, most anything really. Its probably why the bags are mixed in with clothes etc, they hide them all over the house. I kept a lady that had a fascination with dried leaves from outside. 😐 Not sure what my fascination will be, but I'm pretty sure I'll have one. The AC adapters where is a recycled cereal bag! #typical
Hello Renee . The rock could have been from a place they went that was a wonderful trip to a beach or walk in some amazing forest or a grandchild gave it to then . Thanks for the adventures. Stay safe and happy hunting.📷📷📷📷📷💯💯💯💯💯🌷🌻🌷🌻🌷🌷🌻🌷🌻🌷🌻💓
Oh My Gosh Girlie! I wish you saw the value in those plastic bags, vintage bags with outdated advertising! Lol, how many movie studios, television series would have loved to get their hands on these!! Years of collecting, had to have value. (:
Bags and emesis basins, lol just your luck!! Yay, travel soaps. Alot of people in our area use the travel soaps to give to the homeless. Hey throw them in a box people will buy them you'll get at least a buck apiece at the flea market! Hubby calls me the bag lady because i collect the bags and use them in my small trashcans, and I belong to an auction group so I put peoples items in them. Take them with you to have bags at the flee market.
The public’s frustrations are really beginning to surface on You Tube. Still no excuse for being critical of someone who takes the time to provide entertainment and a distraction from all the uncertainty. I guess all those “Be Kind” yard signs aren’t working. The contents of this bag was reality at it’s finest. I haven’t had a good toilet seat laugh in awhile. Thanks!
I think the "back story" on the bags is lost in translation for those that are just watching one episode & not knowing why I am going through a trash bag. Knowing what has come out of this home, I just couldn't resist taking the bag, though now know to be more much more selective if additional bags are put out in the future.
I wouldnt be able to stand not taking more bags if they put them out. You know everything is very old whether it is a fashion bag or a toilet seat.lol. Seriously though think of all the vintage clothes that it could be or the old toys. You just never know.
This bag is the 7th bag of trash I have taken from the home. 5 bags were good, the 2 I grabbed the following week were the trash trash bags. There's a fine line of trash picking and I don't want to cross it :0)
I hope from your last video With the retro TV lamp you got the pottery piece on it They are so fun to have I have one in my storage that I will be using More fun trash 👏
I was so worried you might pull a bedpan out of that bag. Glad it was only the toilet seat!!! The pipe cleaners are fun they still said pipe cleaners now they have to be called chenille stems.
Maybe use the blue toilet seat as a planter in the yard 😂😂😂 you never know that's for sure!! It is still fun to go through the bags with you!! Take care sweet girl!!
Ok I got dibs on the rock and toilet seat. You never know is right, the next bag could be a a bag of goodies. These people were from a frugal generation cut the clothing up for cleaning rags after cutting off the buttons.
@@PaperandMoose They must have ' picked it up in their travels ' as a souvenir of some place they went to. It probably meant SOMETHING to them as a memory.. to us? not so much. You seem like a fun person to hang around with. So fun to watch you go through the bags.
Not only a toilet seat, but a blue toilet seat!! Liked the pipe cleaner bundle in spring colors. Another fun video...thanks. Take care

Twist ties! I'm surprised there weren't any of those! Old clothes into dusting rags is something my grandparents did as well - convenient and cheap!
Bedroom and kitchen would be the rooms to get bags from. Especially the bedroom. I bet she kept some amazing clothes. Fingers crossed. Stay safe x

A few treasures are better than none!! There are a few things in the bag may be worthwhile! THANKS AGAIN !!

Yes the soaps are resellable online people collect them
Use the soaps in the garden to keep out deer and other creatures.

My house is full of such rocks. They ar probably useless to others, but each one is a memory to me :)
Me, too. I have some great rocks on my porch.
That was a nice stash of soap. I wouldn't sell it, I'd use it for years.
I would of personally kept the soap and used it it doesn't expire or take it to a homeless shelter
Don't watch the VHS, for the same reason I don't look through my family's photos on their phones. Trust me... I have learned the hard way. Lol
Most homeless shelters will take those unwrapped soaps.
Oh My Gosh Girlie! I wish you saw the value in those plastic bags, vintage bags with outdated advertising! Lol, how many movie studios, television series would have loved to get their hands on these!! Years of collecting, had to have value. (:
The bags aren't that old - Giant, Walmart, Shop Rite. If they were bags from the 1950s/1960s, for sure they would have been cleaned and kept.
"This does not look like a bag of bags, this looks like a bag of rags" 😆

Oh no! No more garbage bags? I think they make such fun videos even if you don’t find anything worthwhile. Keep or donate the soaps.
We shall see with the next upcoming garbage day if they put anything out!
Paper & Moose found a bag. A bag with a bag of bags! A bag with a bag of rags! Maybe she will find a bag of green eggs & ham!

I think that was a death bed room . Pillow , medicine list , toilet seat and the rest was thrown in when the bag was carried out the door .
If those little soaps are wrapped an unused..they will bring in $$.
Nancy Ashley I agree!!
I would be super excited about the soaps!
At 9:45 - Sandpaper and Moose! 😉
That was a real bag of treasures ,looked like they just emptied the junk drawers it wasn't all rubbish.👍😀
Hi are you able to recycle the trash bags at your local supermarket?
Still fun to watch!
Judging by the hardware you found, and the wire nuts, I think the homeowner may have been an electrician.
Your Toilet Seat Discovery Giggle was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh! Everyone needs a laugh nowadays.
Yup, finding a toilet seat never even crossed my mind!
I feel like I need to go wash after seeing this! Ha! Better luck next bag.
Well Miss Moose, you're a nickel richer 👍 😁
I like the pipe cleaners the best.
Me too!
Will you share the vintage clothing after you've laundered it?
All those little bits of metal would sell at the flea if you put them in a jar labelled for steam punk jewelry making.
Count the stars on the flag HUGS
If you don't want the soaps etc. donate them to the homeless centers. That's what I do.
You should hold up the sweat pants then the diet book and then You lol. Funny video. You find all sort lol. Thank you keep safe. X
Always enjoyable!

Lol I often do that.
Me too! 😂
I once found Levi's the size of those sweats. Enormous.
The gears will zell for steam punk makers they are good sellers
Maybe they hid there money in those bags so people would think they were just bags. Lol
I’m grossing out with those rags 😷
I think those collars and leashes could be for cats or tiny dogs.
That Appedrine sounded familiar, read up on it. Quite a controversy!
Sony tape is probably a blank.
Herman's was the big sporting goods store when I was growing up. Woodbridge Mall.
They are for electrical conduit.

Bicycle break pads.
