    I'm not convinced most pen-style machines are actually sanitary, and I'm confident that if devices such as these were made available for use in the medical field they'd be very quicky banned. Not all of them are like that, though. It would be nice to see a comparison done on hygiene between different pens. With criteria like the extent to which they can be disassembled, whether or not the drive mechanism can be autoclaved, whether or not the brand has available disposable grips, etc. That seems like the most important shootout one could do, because safety should be the top priority.

    • @aciduck1027

      id assume sanitation essentially falls on the one using them no? cuz they have disposable condoms for them you use to wrap when in use on live flesh, plus the needles are already sanitized and also disposable. sure beats a wire if you ask me and offers more flexibility too

      Try the Acus M1. The problem is 90% of these machines are chinese crap!

    • @bleufitz9702

      @@aciduck1027the wrap doesn’t cover the tip completely, and should be used even on fake skin btw, & sterilized needles don’t have anything to do with potential back flow into the machine. Membranes help this but ink still gets on/in the machine, & if the grip isn’t disposable or autoclave-able, that’s how cross contamination happens. With bios like plasma & blood in the dirty ink, you’d be putting dirty blood in other people.

    • @aciduck1027

      @@bleufitz9702 cant you just use disposable grips and sterilize your machine per usage?

    • @bleufitz9702

      @@aciduck1027 a lot of the pen style machines don’t offer disposable grips. None of the machines she showed aside from one have a disposable grip option -if I’m not mistaken.
      & cold sterilization where you can do so isn’t enough for a machine, & they’re are not autoclavable

    Do you like to use the police liners, on human skin too? Or do you use the inkclaw instead?
    I love the police liners, but sometimes it feels like the x-long taper is doing to much penetration damage, so I line with Quelle or kwadron.

    • @FloatyTattoo

      I do use the police liners quite a bit on my clients, you are right though since they are only x-long taper I do like to use InkClaw for when I don’t want the long taper, InkClaw is really great in that they offer liners in every taper, very versatile needles.

    Great work Floaty. I was going to ask you if you still considered the V12 your favorite and boom, you answered it with this video. I have the V12 as well and like not only the saturation but the smoothness and quiet. How much importance do you put on those qualities as well as battery life? Will be interesting to revisit this in a year to assess the durability of these machines. Have you tried the Neuma 4 machines as a high end alternative?

    • @FloatyTattoo

      That’s awesome! Smoothness/low vibration/quiet and saturation as well as ergonomics are my main factors I judging a machine. Battery life is jot really an issue for me as most of the time I prefer to run wired on my Muso Toku, I like the balance of the machine better without a battery on the back. That being said when I do run wireless battery life is not much of an issue as long as something can run at least 4 hours straight, which pretty much every battery can. For full day sessions I almost always take a break at around the 4 hour mark, in which case I can charge/switch the battery.
      I have the Neuma 4 and used it for over a year, it is a great and unique machine but ultimately it vibrates a bit, is very noisy, and changing the strokes is not as convenient/clean as the V12.

    • @TamawoEnterprise

      I've been using V12 for around 6-7 months now. Battery life is really good. I've made a sleeve with it without having to charge (I rarely go past 7.5 volts though), since I forgot to charge in between sessions. Lol

    Bishop power wands are the best imo, I’ve used pretty much everything on the market and I use the power wand packer for everything now. Love the neuma 5 and axys Valhalla and Cheyenne etc but nothing compares to my bishops.

    • @FloatyTattoo

      I do love my Bishop Liner Wand for running larger needle groupings. I ended up selling my Packer Wand though, it seems extremely over priced for how weak the motor is compared to the machines I've put in this video as my top picks, not the most stable for lining either. If they could get the vibration down in the Neuma system I would consider going back, have you used the Neuma 4 vs the 5, is there less vibration with the new spring system?

      What I have noticed it is usually older tattoo artists who have primarily been using coil machines which vibrate quite a bit causing carpal tunnel over time. With CT it is harder to grip smaller things so the grips get bigger to compensate. Some people also just have very big hands.
