Eleven years gone and I still miss Ryan. Now and then, randomly, a cozy memory pops up. A few days ago, during my jogging run (lol) I somehow thought of him, and Jeff, and their talks about doing a radio show together, about the things that could've been and the short life we all live in the grand scheme.
This is the part we're going to flash back to when it turns out at the end of the movie that Jeff actually died in that fall and the whole of reality has just been his feverish last few moments.
This is my #2 GB moment of 2012! though simple, the random fall (in which Jeff disappears afterwards for a while) Ryan and Brad not realizing what happened, then just acknowledging the future hologram in front of them, cracks me up!
I was trying to figure that out too. I think he felt his center of gravity slipping and with nothing to grab, he just threw himself off to land on his feet.
Jeff died tragically falling 4 stories off a wall. A memorial will be held by Ryan and Brad, who will continue to play Olympics video games without any clue where they are or what they're doing.
Press 1 for "Carls Jr." Press 2 for "it was in the late 90s" Press 3 for "eff growing up" Press 4 repeatedly for "saber saber saber saber saber" Press 5 for "awesome" Press 6 for a loud thump Press 7 for "goin' around here" Press 8 repeatedly for "Evas evas evas evas evas" Press 9 repeatedly for some hand waving
I think that big fall was at one of the PAX panels, where he wrecked his tail bone. On the one of the bombcasts from a month or two ago, he mentioned that it still occasionally hurts.
there's also a loud noise that sounds like more than him just falling on the carpeted floor, it was either a big beanbag/something similar or a pile of cardboard boxes or something
Once they went back to NBC / under the Gamespot umbrella is when things became so much more uptight and less personable. I still tune into a Quick Look here and there but I haven't listened to the Bombcast with much regularity in about 4 or 5 years.. I think Drew leaving was probably the last bit I was really interested / must listen. But- that could also have to do with this console gen being on its way out. I'm glad they still make content but I agree that a lot of the personality seems sapped or reined in..
Yeah I dropped the podcast a year ago and haven't felt the need to go back. Don't really go to the site anymore either. Still check in for the "talks over (an event)" videos sometimes just on TH-cam.
I take back anything I ever said about stealth in videogames being unrealistic. Ryan and Brad barely turned their necks, then went back to what they were doing 🤣
actually it is. He made the comment, before Ryan's death "RIP Jeff" due to the fall, but in retrospect we know that Ryan passed away. Therefore, to view that page at a time when people are mourning Ryan Davis, it is ironic to see RIP Jeff, when commonly people are posting RIP Ryan.
No, Irony is saying something that is the opposite of what is expected. So, the fact that you commonly are seeing "RIP Ryan Davis", it is ironic to see "RIP Jeff Gerstmann", regardless of when he actually made that comment.
I had a Hardee's burger a few years ago. For the first time, I believe. I will give them an infinite amount of credit for making it look incredibly delicious as far as the photos of said burger are concerned. But eating it was like biting into a sponge. Maybe the worst burger I've ever had. Gerstmann rules.
watch his foot, it goes right over the railing even though he could've used it to catch himself or something. i suspect that jeff put a big beanbag under the railing and did this on purpose. watch how he falls. it's too perfect. and this is exactly the kind of thing jeff would find hilarious to do.
How do I have it backwards? That dividing wall is like 3 feet off the ground. Jeff dying is against expectations because it'd be really hard for him to die from that, so saying RIP Jeff would be ironic

And with Jeff leaving today this clip is a bittersweet memory of the old days
the best part about this is on the full video you never see jeff get up
bondfish Do you know what clip it is?
its one of the premium olympics marathon theres only two should be easy to see which one
bondfish Cool, thanks. Do you know if they ever addressed this awesome event though? Haha.
I actually dont believe they ever did
bondfish I figured, but it's such a shame.
Punished 'Venom' Jeff emerges.
This is the part we're going to flash back to when it turns out at the end of the movie that Jeff actually died in that fall and the whole of reality has just been his feverish last few moments.
just like the ending to rosanne.
+jtbedazzle not exactly
Shame Jeff didn't survive that fall. Really miss that guy.
JoeGamer81 We got "punished" Jeff now.
Meh...he was over-rated anyway.
We will never forget Jeff gerstmann
I give Jeff's life a 6/10. rip big guy
Gotta give Ryan credit for stepping up to take his place
I miss Ryan :-( R.I.P Duder.
He landed on a beanbag...Jeff truly knows how to work the marks
Jeff talked about this on the Hotspot. That man was on the floor crawling away after that fall.
omg which one i need to know
@@kingstonlor9969The HotSpot - Episode 397
Rip Ryan. Still miss you duder
TH-cam recommends this video to me once every few years and I still love it
I like how he almost goes at about 16 seconds in, but he manages to steady himself. And get lured into a false sense of security.
Miss Ryan.
Lmao this clip never gets old, cracks me up all the time :D
So many years later and it still cracks me up.
I just got recommended this... an 8 year old, grainy video of a fall... and I LOVE IT!
God I miss classic Giant Bomb.
I miss the giant bomb when this comment was written
God I miss Ryan so much
same here, duder
The thing that makes the clip is members just talking about fast food as they are known to do. That is the most Giant Bomb thing to happen.
This is my #2 GB moment of 2012! though simple, the random fall (in which Jeff disappears afterwards for a while) Ryan and Brad not realizing what happened, then just acknowledging the future hologram in front of them, cracks me up!
So glad to have found this.
Well done Jeff
I feel betrayed
Out of sight, out of mind I always say. RIP Ryan.
Was wondering why there were new comments on this video randomly. Guess he talked about it yesterday.
RIP Ryan. :(
🎶 Butterfly in the sky 🎶
I always assumed it was fake, but still was bummed to hear it confirmed by Jeff today that he fell onto bean bags he had placed there.
It’s still magical
Here after the Hotspot from Feb 2021. RIP Ryan you beautiful bastard
Knowing that, I swear you can actually hear the bean bags when he falls on them
THANKS FOR THE REMINDER TH-cam
I just like that, in this recording, Jeff falling sounds like someone setting down a bean bag.
You are absolutely correct.
@@SAjimclose Wow, I just found out about what really happened. I'm a genius lol
I laughed my ass off at that
lol, wtf Jeff? I was trying to figure out if he did that as an intentional prat fall at first. love Ryan completely ignoring it. xD
I was trying to figure that out too. I think he felt his center of gravity slipping and with nothing to grab, he just threw himself off to land on his feet.
rip Ryan you legend
Childhood’s End finding out this was all a work.

Aww Ryan.
How NPCs act when they hear you sneaking around in an RPG
That was pretty traumatic to watch. He might have spilled his Diet Coke.
When that helicopter crashed in the Ravaged Quicklook.
That day when Jeff had a falling out.
Jeff would make for a terrible ninja
Some say he's still falling...
also that future TV is awesome
there's also a loud noise that sounds like more than him just falling on the carpeted floor, it was either a big beanbag/something similar or a pile of cardboard boxes or something
Damn I miss the boys.....😔
Old GB seemed more informal. Kinda miss that. Now everything is them sitting at a giant future-desk or at a podcast table.
It is a giant podcast table
They have $1700 Diva Lites all over the studio now. Easily over $20,000 worth of just lights hanging above

Aaaaand now the site is completely gone as far as I'm concerned.
amazing

Hit the 6 key for Jeff's fall sound every time.

Damn, it looks like he was falling asleep and he woke up falling.
so morbidly ironic right now.

The Frisco Burger is great.
00:28 : D
It's all a lie.
Okay.. I need to know the context of the fall. I need to know what he landed on and from what height. I need all the metrics man.
8 years later, he's explained it all in the most recent Hot Spot 👍
the correct answer.
whats your number 1
God GB was so good back then!
Where can I find the full length Olympic Games Olympiad Stream??
+Alex Capo It's in the Premium Feed, Page 22
***** thanks man
too soon :[
Lol nobody even noticed... poor Jeff
Didn't Jeff actually really hurt himself from this fall?
No, that would be a coincidence. Decidedly not ironic actually. You have it entirely backwards.
spoilers: jeff has been a cyborg ever since
Is the coke okay?
LOL love
Pretty sure he was just summoning Satan.
J Gerstman OUT!
😂 I remember this!
you get the point, relax.
