@zola Zaza this is the type of comment and info's I need to read since I didn't find any reviews about that mod, and this even explains much why I stayed off and away from such massive mod. I prefer much much more bfme 2 ver 1.09 and the amazing great edain mod
I'll say it went fast mainly because Hard AI 4k start Small map Now, if Edain somehow gets a "death march" AI update treatment, that will be cool, but atm brutal is still fairly managable. On a good note, I do like seeing an Edain video, especially since I can't be bothered making any videos... heh... So yeah, some good old Edain gameplay is a nice breeze in the AotR filled space. And hopefully we get the gobbos soon (tm)
I'm a little sad there isn't a build-plot version of AotR. I prefer Edain because I prefer build plots, but I feel AotR is just a more polished overall experience; not to mention its greater number of factions and generally higher-quality assets.

Well this takes me back haha. Mordor was my most loved faction in Edain I remember, but all factions were very well done imo. So, i'm guessing Dagor Dagorath is up next. I miss all those themes to the factions after you've researched "Power of past ages"... Those jams slapped hard, especially Rohan's haha

The reason this game was running so smooth and fast is because it was not lagging out. Time for a 3 player FFA or similar to show of the dwarves again. Would love to see you try to pull of some traveller camp rush thing for the mithril armour.
so much nostalgia, i even remember the animations, even though it has been many many years since i last played. i played this game a tonne before the long awaited update 4.0 came live, that was before they changed it into this castle based thing like it is in bfme1, prior to 4.0 you can build anywhere, i prefferred it like how it was, instead of this prebuildt castle system, and i usually held my line on hours on end, as arnor defending fornost against evil, or defending the iron hills or the halls of erebor as the dwarves. (and many other maps ofcourse)
I never got to experience the 4.0 branch because that my ex, completely wrecked my laptop in a most brutal manner, due to the fact that i was paying more attention to this game than i was to her, even though i fucked her atleast twice every day, a crazy (but also justified) bitch on occassions, she was, up until now i have suffered from BFMEPTSD, but after nearly a decade i am starting to feel confident again, so i might reinstall this game, now that i do not have to worry about a woman destroying my equipment. Btw, prince Aranarth has a awesome feature in case you do not know, you can choose whether he should become chieftain of the rangers of the north, or if he should choose the path of continuing Arnor as a kingdom, i always found this feature awesome. And lastly, i will have to pay homage to Gandalf the black, Gandalf is awesome if you give him the one ring Now i will watch the video
Huh. I never thought about it before, but comparing AotR to Edain, I find that AotR is more fun to play and less fun to watch, while Edain is the opposite. I never thought about it, but perhaps that's because AotR is more defensive, which slows things down, opening up more strategic thought but also making it slightly more tedious to watch, while Edain is more offensive in gameplay, meaning things are being produced more quickly, there's constantly something happening, but because of that, quality of strategy seems lower as players just throw their armies at each other.
I´m not even sure Dagor Dagorath still exists. If I remember correctly, they got sued for stealing from a lot of other mods. Thats why nobody plays it anymore
@@OutOfMarbles127 It kinda does exist, just under a new name "Dagor Dagorath Remastered". They have a new team and everything but you have to download the files from their discord i think, i havent looked into the mod status since late 2020.
Dagor is/was made out of stolen stuff from other mods, so supporting them would mean supporting people who steal other people's work. Please don't make a video about that mod.
The reason why you could make Ithilien Rangers is because that settlement was originally owned by a player then destroyed; I think it's a bug in the game. Dude! You really want an OP Arnor? Place down the Lonetowers in strategic positions on the map and garrison them with the Arnor Rangers! Spamming the Rangers by training a battalion from every Ranger Settlement is a sure way to just wreck the enemy. Cheers 🍺

Edain had this awesome feature where many heroes had a ring form thats was awesome but i think they removed most of them then you had Lots of cool content like dol guldur but now you have like needlessly complicated mechanics with Mordor and then you have the horrible Castle System i mean its cool If you get a castle but If you dont well then its just worse guess what If i dont get a castle i should not have to use buildplots aswell seeing as there is No good reason to build my buildings this close to my Fortress then
Age of the ring and edain mod are the best mods for the game right now, I would say botta would be top too if mod received updates often like 1 update in month or 2,what I noticed is that age of the ring is much harder then both of other mods, u gotta be careful what u buy, how u play, and how u use what u bought, one mistake and u gonna get fked, also u gotta be build constantly units heroes whatever, otherwise u are fked up lol.
I prefer the fixed castle gameplay of bfme 1. Game flows better and more decision making is required from the player. Freebuild is cool but it becomes so messy and spammy.

Has anyone else found that brutal Isengard is stupidly powerful? I can only beat it with Gondor, after turtling while building up my army
Also, barrow-wights. The AI is really bad at handling them, as the level 5 one near the end can attest to.
