I love it when I see someone who understands this, because I grew up in a church that made me feel like if I did something wrong I'd go to hell. But my mom taught me that I wouldn't so I use to get so torn, and to be honest it really hurt to think that the people I absolutely loved as a child could turn out like that. I'm still learning and growing so I for the time being decided to leave that church, so atm this song says it all for me. Better then I could ever hope to, I am trailing off though so I'll just say what originally this comment was supposed to be. Gay is The way i think thats the best part of this band. They christian messages are subliminal, but even if you dont believe its still good music that you can listen to and enjoy without having God being forced upon you. Even as a christian i think thats a big problem with Christian music.

To me this song is about someone who I've been sort of infatuated with, for a long time. I know it's only hurting me, "binding" me if you will, like chains. She's gone.. I was never in a situation where I'm good for a relationship during the time I knew her anyway, even if I was right for her. But I still have these memories stuck in my head, those few good moments, and they keep me looking back, they keep me wanting to stay "bound" in chains, because it's like.. I'm feeling "In love" again ("Every link, another piece of you I saved"). But I know I have to let it go.... because staying bound in chains isn't a way to live.
