I was an awful pit when Jesus came to me. Six years prior, I had known the Lord and had walked away as a teenager. Years went by and I found my life in a mess! I began having crippling panic attacks until I didn't even want to get out of bed in the mornings! But I felt the drawing of God and thank God, He came to me! How amazing that just like the prodical son, I had walked away but the Father would stand waiting for the son to return. He came running to that son, as God did me!

It is indeed true that before we reached out for Him, he did it for our sake. We are too far to God because of our transgressions but He made himself close and painted his love for us through his blood and purchased our salvation through his death.
