বুয়েটে স্থাপত্যে ভর্তি হয়ে থিয়েটারে যোগ দেন, অভিনেতা ও চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাতা তৌকির আহমেদ। সেখানেই হাতে কলমে তার অভিনয় শেখা । ৮৮ সালে ‘ ফিরিয়ে দাও অরণ্য’ ধারাবাহিক নাটক দিয়ে শুরু বিটিভিতে অভিনয় । তারপর অভিনয় করেছেন, অসংখ্য নাটকে এবং কয়েকটি সিনেমায়। অবশ্য শুধু অভিনয়ের মধ্যেই নিজেকে আটকে রাখেননি তৌকির। এক পর্যায়ে মনযোগী হলেন, চিত্রনাট্যে এবং ছবি পরিচালনায়। তার সব চিন্তাই এখন ঘুরপাক খায় চলচ্চিত্র নির্মাণকে ঘিরে। ১৪ বছর স্থপতি হিসেবে কাজ করা তৌকির আহমেদের প্রথম পরিচালিত সিনেমা ‘জয়যাত্রা’। দীর্ঘদিনের অভিজ্ঞতার আলোকে তিনি মনে করেন, পরিচালকের চেয়ে ছবির লগ্নিকারিরা বেশি ক্ষমতাধর।
