I did this solo in 2019 staying in some of the rifugios you did. You vidio was exallent and who ever filmed this did a brilliant job, you really capture the feeling of being in th Dolomites. Love this video and can clearly remember some of the places/scenery you filmed.
The view is very beautiful and amazing .. I wonder when can I climb up this beautiful mountain 🌝 .. . Assalammualaikum wbt .. hello Foogie .. how are you doing now? I was just thinking of you and Amilia .. and so I watch this vlog which I loved the most .. I hope both of you are in the pink of good health and that everything is ok .. so take care .. stay safe .. stay healthy .. and stay negative always .. Happy new year 🌟🌟🌟
How much were the Refugios on average for an overnight stay? Also, how much was the meals? Also, were you able to purchase typical backpacking food at the Refugios, for example trail mix, snacks, oatmeal, Mountain House/dehydrated meals? Thanks for the wonderful video.
Hi! I've heard rhat the refugios book up 6 months in advance and most of the ones I've emailed are already booked for the summer - how were you able to get spots on the day? We are also thinking of camping but worried about our options if the weather is bad
This was lovely thankyou for sharing your trip. I am looking at eurostar nd bus or hire car from UK lol. Looks lovely and hard! Is a good thing. Peace x
06:50 Alta Via 1 is actually the easiest of the 6 and considered to be the most beginner friendly of them all. The others have via ferrata's and many exposed/scrambling parts.
Yup, alta via 1 is the easiest, and the only one suitable for wild campers with heavier pack weights (we were carrying 14kilos each). 6:50 is where I mentioned that the forcella di lech is the toughest part of alta via 1
Thanks Jen! We went around September I believe, which is a pretty low season compared to August. Tents are definitely needed as a backup in case the rifugios are fully booked! (which they often are, especially the first few days of the hike where it's crowded - rifugio biella until rifugio averau - but gets less crowded and pretty much empty towards the second half of the hike - when you are nearer to monte pelmo)
great video, made me really excited for my hike of the alta via 1 next year! Do you think it's possible to find a campsite every night along the trail?
Thanks Paul! Plenty of wild camping spots along the way but no legal campsites. Wild camping is technically illegal so you will need to be a bit more careful about where you pitch. We met a guy that managed to camp everyday throughout the entire trail though! Enjoy the hike!
@@jacobhicalcium thanks, thats good to hear! do you remember the temperature rating of the sleeping bags you used? I'm trying to pack light but I also don't want to freeze at night :D
@@derpaulii We went slightly overkill bringing our rab neutrino 400 bags. The comfort rating is -1 on those and I was sweating quite a bit in them! But definitely better than being too cold 🙂
Great video! Very helpful and informative!!
Thanks for doing it!!!
Great video - you really captured the trail. Thanks.😄
Fabulous! I did the AV1 four years ago. You really captured it beautifully!!

Are there any ridges where you walk on extreme hights or really dangerous parts in alta via 1? Thanks.

Great video! Your music selection was spot on. It seems like you guys decided not to make reservations at Refugio's - did you guys go in August?
