"always bring up the losses without context"
What kind of context would make any of LeBron's Finals losses acceptable in the GOAT conversation where you're comparing people who WON MORE RINGS and lost less Finals?!

JJ wants context for losses but not Lebron’s wins. The Heat took AD and Lebron to 6 games with one of the weakest finals teams in history. Bird and Magic didn’t choose their teammates like Lebron did. MJ changed the paradigm for winning in The Modern Era. Lebron changed the paradigm for losing.

@@longxiong496 It's good that LeBitches shifted to participation trophies instead of actual awards; when you know you can't beat the best, at least try to scream, "I was there too! I've been there more times!" Every single finals run LBJ had in the pathetic Eastern Conference against such greats as Playoff P, Demar Defrozen, Kyle Korver, and the GOAT, Roy Hibbert, means nothing to me. And don't spread the "bad teammates" lie: When MJ's teammates were crackheads, he had 0 All-Stars (Pip became an All-Star in 1990) and was playing against monstrous competition that dominated his Bulls, he STILL performed like the GOAT, yet the media blamed him. In Cleveland, despite playing on 50 and even 60+ win teams (the 08-09 team had the best record in the NBA), alongside 2 All-Stars, in the pathetic Eastern Conference, LBJ folded like a towel, yet the media blamed his teammates.

Facts, JJ was a bum in the era before now averaging under 10 points a game from the bench, then as soon as the league changes he has a career high in points putting up 18 a game at the age of 34 and near the ending of his career (which further shows how weak this era truly is). JJ’s very lucky the league became so 3 point happy because he was very close to flaming out of the league since he has a very limited skill set aside from shooting. It got so bad for him that Magic didn’t even believe in him enough to start over a rookie Courtney Lee who was a late 1st rounder, while JJ was a lottery pick.

Why is that context never brought up? Why is that just forgiven at this point? That forever changed the culture of the league, and ripped out the soul of "franchise players", and gong to war for your team over your career against other franchise players. Younger fans wont know what The Decision took from us older fans. So, he ripped that away, then their first year together they BREEZE through the East 4-1'ing everyone, then Bron has the worst superstar choke in Finals history - Jordan's not doing that, ever. Simple as that. Not to mention MJ just had better production, defense, leadership, mindset, everything. If anything, Bron is just straight overrated for the teams hes had, hand-pick stacking his teams for an entire decade of his megaprime, and ending up with a losing Finals record. When MJ changed teams, he did that 1 time, after 2 yrs off, and went to a team that was certainly not close to being championship-ready. He wasn't actually chasing a ring, after '98. He was playing for the love of the game. That was 6 of 6 rings in only 12 full seasons. Through 1998, he missed about 2 seasons in that time (broken ankle and 1st retirement), which means he accomplised what he did, in a mere 12 full seasons worth of playing, against 29 other DEVELOPED teams, not 8 other, short-in-height newbies (basketball itself was new), like Bill Russel played against, night in and night out!
The 72-10 Bulls team is not the second best team ever. They are pound-for-pound THEE best team, ever (not considering the Dream Team). If MJ played in Steph's era, today, he'd average 42ppg. Kobe immediately increased 4ppg, once hand-checking was off the table, alone. The scale of now vs. 90 rules and physicality is not evenly-weighted. Look at the previous champions, defenders, and contenders that the Bulls went through, year after year. MJ's 6 rings are worth 8 rings today. 72 wins then are worth 79 wins today. The Bulls were about 8% better than the Warriors were.
Wake me up when a team achieves 80 wins, that team wins 9 rings, the star player averages 43ppg, the team never loses a finals series, that team wins a ring better than every other year, the star player is also on an olympic team better than the Dream Team and wins more gold metals than MJ, the star player dunks with beauty and power from further back than the freethrow line and wins 3 dunk champs, is all defense for 10 times or more, has a hunger-drive to win better than a starving and scared lion wants to eat, teams fear him and can only considerably defend him by physically hurting him, and all this happens over 17 yrs or less. Not 20 or more, like Lebron or Kobe (for less accomplished). THEN, we have a new GOAT player and team. This is why Lebron or anyone else simply are not even close to over-taking MJ for GOAT-hood. Sign me up to watch THAT GUY on THAT TEAM!!! Oh, and how does their fade-away look?! How do their dunks look?! Does the star player get OVER heads with the rim with a 49"+ vertical?!
Am I right everyone? What do y'all think it ACTUALLY takes to be the GOAT TEAM and GOAT PLAYER, today? Should the rules go back to the way they were in the 80s and 90s? Give me THAT, with no race nor politics garbage, and I'd then start watching NBA basketball, again. Until then, it's MJ and Bulls re-runs for me. I love watching the greatest team and player, ever, in the greatest era, ever.
    Mic drop.

Give me a break, bro. No matter how much people spam it, and want it to be true, he is not LOCKED at #2. He has an argument, but that's it.

Lebron lost to the warriors in 2015 2017 and 2018. They were a powerhouse, too bad. No excuses. Now you know how Jordan felt from 1984-1988 when he lost to powerhouses.
He lost. No excuses needed. If you insist excuses are needed for Lebron’s losses, then you have to allow people to criticize the wins.
In the end Lebron lost. He is 4-6 in the finals. Too bad.

He ignored the fact that in the 2020 finals The Heat had 2 starters (Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo) who both got injured and missed games.
Jimmy Butler literally had to carry the Heat to 2 wins by having 40 point Triple Doubles with Rookie Tyler Herro and undrafted players like Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn. Hell, Meyers Leonard was the starting Center. A guy who couldn't keep a job in the NBA because he said a bad word on a video game stream was the Heat's starting center due to the Bam Adebayo injury.

Lebron fans always say longevity of Lebron over MJ. Longevity is easy when you play 10% of the time and barely play defense. Jordan played hard 80 to 82 games a season for 13 seasons and still beat out Lebron on championships awards defense offense, this is not even a comparison 😂

I really wonder if Redick has done any research on the Houston back to back rings in '94 and '95. Those were runs for the ages, one superstar with roleplayer help with a team that drafted that superstar. Hakeem's runs to the back to back rings are pretty much the most impressive of all time when you look at what he did, with what help and against who.
Both of those runs were awesome. Look at '94 and against who the Rockets won and with what team. I'm not trying to push down players like Kenny Smith, Vernon Maxwell, Robert Horry or Otis Thorpe by any means but all those guys were 'good roleplayers' at best. That team beat a rather deep Porland, then Barkley's Suns, Stockton&Malone Jazz and Ewing's Knicks. And Hakeem was the sole all star in that team. In '95 the Rockets were a 6th seed and won every series without homecourt advantage. Sure they had added Drexler mid season but Clyde was not an all star anymore(I do love Clyde Drexler, one of my favourite players of all time!). And again they beat Barkley's Suns, Stockton&Malone Jazz, MVP Robinson's Spurs and then swept the 'superteam' of Shaq&Penny Magic who also had solid roleplayers like Grant and Scott.
None of LeBron's playoff runs has been nearly as impressive, not even nearly as impressive, as those Rockets runs. The '11 Mavs run is also much more impressive than any of LeBron's runs. Hakeem's two back to back rings are more valuable than LeBron's 4 rings combined. Ring is a ring for sure but some rings hold much more weight and value than others.

One thing I'd like to add as a context to bulls wins not only in playoff series but in general is that in an era with strong big men dominating the paint (yes, back then there wee real centers who were allowed to camp in the paint) they had to fight without a single reliable center and still attack the rim through pure skill, creativity and of course ball movement (kudos to both Phil for the design and the players for the execution). So saying that the bulls were the super team and all their opponents were weak when in fact Jordan played with one all-star only and all their opponents had at least one clear edge over them is not simply overrated, it's pure nonsense. And we all know they overcame those hurdles by the pure will and leadership of MJ who would not quit on his team, would never disappear in the fourth. Actually it's quite the opposite and it's pretty obvious to anyone who watched bulls finals. To those who haven't i would say this: either watch and learn or stop comparing anyone to MJ except Kobe to an extent.

In my opinion MJ played some of his best years before the championships just like how he was the best player in the world even before he won a MVP. Once he made it to the championships he never left it unless he retired. The only player that can say they stayed winning championships consistently is Bill.

Anyone who can see the basketball legitimately can tell you that the GOAT debate never existed. In time, LeBron won't even be in the top two.
J.J. Redick forgot that in 2014, the Spurs had to go to Game 7 to get past the first round of the Western Conference. He's also forgetting that the easiest series the Spurs won in the entire 2014 playoffs was the Finals.
Also, the 2017 Warriors, who were supposed to be unbeatable, had a close series with the Spurs in the regular season and who knows what would have happened in the playoffs had Kawhi Leonard not been injured.
The 2018 Warriors barely made it to the Finals in Game 7 of the WCF, but they easily swept LeBron's team in the Finals.
The only excuse LeBron fans had was to make those teams that beat LeBron look like teams they could never beat which is unbeatable.
The reason people are mocking LeBron's loss is not because he just lost.
It's because too many times (2007, 2014, 2018, 2020) his team was the easiest team to beat by champion teams in the playoffs that year. even easier than wcf 1st round.

When Jordan was winning championships, no one else was winning championships. In Lebron’s era many different teams have won championships. Steph Curry has just as many championships as Lebron, so you can say that Steph has the same right as Lebron to claim this era. I may be wrong but that’s the way I see it.

Here's what people always forget about Jordan: His stats were off the charts before he started winning. Phil Jackson convinced him that 'less is more' if you want to win in a team sport. Pointing out that 'Lebron did his part' in those losses is just a crazy argument. Perhaps that's why he lost! If Jordan was a stat-padder, he would not have listened to Phil and would not have retired the first time. That version of Jordan would have had over 40k points but probably only 2 rings. But that's not what that guy was all about. The real tragedy is Lebron leapfrogging Kareem, Kobe, Bird, etc to be even considered the consensus No. 2. Marketing at its finest. I think he's awesome but I have him mid/late top 10. And no...that isn't an insult. It's a compliment for a someone who can't shoot off the dribble or make free throws.
