    Biography
    Saxophonist Nathan Nabb maintains an active and multifaceted concert schedule, with numerous performances in solo, chamber and orchestral settings each season. As an orchestral musician, Nathan regularly performs with the St. Louis Symphony and the Houston Symphony, and has also performed with the Minnesota Orchestra, New World Symphony, IRIS Chamber Orchestra and Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. Recent orchestral highlights include concerto performances with St. Louis and Houston Symphonies, as well as European tours with both orchestras, featuring concerts at the BBC Proms, Berlin Musikfest, and the Klara Festival and in some of the most celebrated concert spaces, including Royal Albert Hall, Salle Pleyel, Berlin Philharmonie, Berlin Konzerthaus, Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Elbphilharmonie. Dr. Nabb’s recital and masterclass engagements include visits across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He has performed as concerto soloist at the Region IV North American Saxophone Alliance conference, has performed at the World Saxophone Congress, the North American Saxophone Alliance biennial conferences, and at the Navy Band Saxophone Symposium, as well as at prominent schools of music and saxophone studios throughout the world. Nathan can be heard on nine recordings in many different settings from solo to orchestral, and they are released on the BIS, Innova, Myrios Classics, Pentatone, Teal Creek, and AMP record labels.
    Dr. Nabb holds teaching positions at Stephen F. Austin State University, where he is Professor of Saxophone and Associate Director for Undergraduate Studies in the School of Music, and at Chongqing Normal University, where he is Guest Professor of Saxophone. Nathan held the position of Guest Master Teacher at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music from 2015-2017, and previously taught at Morehead State University from 2005-2010. Nathan’s students have won many competitions in solo and chamber music settings, and have been featured in performances and master classes at North American Saxophone Alliance regional and national conferences, as well as other venues around the United States.
    Nathan received his Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees in saxophone performance from Northwestern University, where he studied with Dr. Frederick Hemke. His Bachelor of Music degree is from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he studied with Professor Debra Richtmeyer.
    Nathan proudly endorses D’Addario and Selmer products and performs on D’Addario reeds and Selmer Paris Saxophones.

    Just found your channel, love the performances you've done! What model of saxophone do you play on? Also, what do you think about when you're trying to keep a clear, dark tone? You seem to have great command of it over the range of the indtrument; I'm currently having a little bit of trouble staying dark with the middle register below middle D...

    That is a really hard piece. You have done a pretty good job on it.
    Where is the mic placement? It's picking up the key slap/movement. Which detracts for the your performance.

      A pretty good job? C’mon! (I hope you were just kidding.) I actually like the sounds. Real is best, to my ear. His horn is quiet enough that I don’t mind he mic picking up what it does.
