Thank you so much!! 😊 I always make my bracelets by just folding the strings in half and tying a knot. I saw this kind of loop used on other bracelets and I really wanted to try it and I did! It looks so much nicer than a plain loop and the tutorial was so simple and easy to see and understand.

Also a tip, when you are about to tape to secure, tape to the side because then the loop won’t be centered.

guys make ur "longest string" like an extra to 10 inches, so if u have all ur strings the same length, tha means make sure you measure one of them longer than the other

+CreativeTwins no problem! :) so, I tried this out on a chevron bracelet, my only issue is that the string I used to make the knots is now about 10 inches shorter than the others.. is there a way to avoid this? Or should I just cut one string a bit longer?

your welcome I never make bracelets but id like to try so I found this channel
what are the measurements for each string? since im guessing the purple string was longer than the rest so u had to measure one side longer than the rest so you could continue the patern without having less of purple.

This probably won’t matter now but since you would measure the string 2x longer then what you would do for the traditional way of tying the bracelet, it won’t matter. I hope this made sense because I’m horrible at explaining.
3 years later now, haha, but I hope this helps someone reading the comment sections LOL
For bracelets, I usually wrap the string around my wrist 4 times. This would change depending on the designs repetition and complexity. For an example, a chevron bracelet would have equal lengths in all the strings so about 4 times desired length. However, a cow hitch bracelet with only one side being used would have very different lengths (the unused centers being about as long as the desired length, and the one mainly used to cow hitch ~5 times).
Also, people are saying to make the purple string mainly used for the cow hitch to be an extra 10 inches long :3

Yes, it is possible, but also very complicated. I might film a video on how to do it, because it's hard to explain without showing.

After the loop can you go on to do any style of friendship bracelet or is this only for chevron patterns
After making the loop you can make any kind of friendship bracelet. I use this loop for every bracelet I make.
But what if you can't half the bracelet at the beginning? For example there are some bracelets where you don't need to half because you only need one time that colour,not 2 times. I wish i could explain better but i can't lol :)) i hope you understand what i mean

just try to tie it tight on to another string that loops and make sure that this loopy thingy covers the knot that you did to tie it. Helpful???
Ok... So here is what I did. I did half some of the strings because I needed too, but I also cut 2 other colors that are used only once. I taped those together with the other ones. Put the colors that you use only one time in the section, where you are gonna use the long string to create the loops. And then you just do everything according to the video. The result is absolutely the same. I did it and it looks great!

YuXin Liu It's not necessary, but I recommend to take one longer string. Because when you complete a loop, all strings have the same length.

Unfortunately no. You always have to start with the loop.

Hi, I have 6 black strings and 5 blue. I have to keep all the 5 blue string on the right side and all the black on the left for the design. If I fold in half the blue ends up in the middle. Is there a way for this loop to work for me? THANKS BTW, THIS IS SO COOL

You have to take one longer string for this loop. So when you end the loop, all your strings are at the same length.
