Today Apollo and I worked outside doing projects off my list. I am going to be doing more of these kinds of videos about my gardening and what kind of yard chores come with that. I hope you like this kind of video. We also do grocery hauls, cook with me, thrifting, frugal ideas, budget friendy activities. Please like, comment, subscribe so that you can be notified of our next video. Thanks for watching! 🦋
@LifewithSerena0323 Hey friend, yes it flips it when you spin it. I have weeks of kitchen scraps in there and you can't even see it because it's already broken down into compost! The rain Barrels are awesome! We are allowed to collect rain water in FL. We don't have any issues with mosquitoes because there are screens over the area that is open to collect the water. We absolutely love them. We have them at the back of our property so if I am working in the greenhouse you don't have to walk back to the house to turn on the hose. We have water right there.😊
We had issues with some kind of bug on our cherry tree back in Washington. I made up some type of solution and it helped. I hope you get rid of yours! I am surprised you don't have a leaf blower! You can put bleach tablets in the water barrels to keep them from building up yucky stuff! Are you able to connect a garden hose to your rain barrels for watering your plants?
We have a leaf blower, I don't use it though. This was more about getting exercise and getting some plant therapy. I love to just work in our gardens and let my thoughts go. I heard about the bleach tablets. You can also just put a splash of bleach in it. I do neither since I use my rain barrels all the time. As far as a hose I don't need it. I have a hose connected to the house that reaches around my entire yard. These rain barrels are more for my green house use and rinsing stuff off in a pinch. Plus being prepaired in the event of an emergency. Thanks for watching!
@@OurLifeOnADime We have tons of trees and the city has a pick up 2 times a year. Spring and fall. We can blow our leaves or rake them to the curb/edge of the road plus tree branches and limbs under 4 feet in length. They will pick it up for free which is really nice! I I also enjoy working in the yard! We are wanting to build some steps into the berm around our house so we can use that area as well. I would like to plants some berry bushes in that area but have a feeling the deer would just eat the plants. So far all my grapes and berries are in my fenced in area. It is good to work with nature! You are so lucky to have a longer growing season!
@@rachaelsupadventures Good evening Rachael! We can put out horticulture every week if we wanted. But we are doing permaculture gardening this year. Reusing natures toolbox. I think it's called back to eden gardening. You use the tree leaves, the wood. repurposing plants and building a better echo sytem in our gardens. Finding free stuff on facebook to repurpose in the garden. I love it! I am new to all of this. I am just enjoying it and having a lot of fun. I have a big suprise to show you guys in a few weeks. 🤞
Hi Miss Lisa, thank you for sharing. I enjoy seeing you workout in your yard. I miss it so much. I cannot wait until spring. Aren’t you supposed to stir up the compost every time you add? I see it spins but that doesn’t dig it and stir it because it gets thick? Idk I’ve never had one. I would never have space to have one. Oooo you can collect rain water? It’s illegal in Washington state. I know if you leave it lying around it breeds mosquitos but I like your barrel where it has a tap to get it out.
Why does Washington make it illegal to collect rain water? I never heard of that before. You had me curious so I looked it up for Fl. This is what it says. In Florida it is legal and even encouraged. The state promotes rainwater harvesting as an effective method for conserving water resources. Doesn't it rain alot in Washington? It's not like say Arizona where it is dry all the time. That's weird.
@@OurLifeOnADimeidk it does rain a lot but it also breeds mosquitos that’s probably why. Not everyone will put the rain water away. We have a lot of illegals here. So that could be why because none of them ever listen to the law. I have no idea but I used to give it to my Venus fly trap because they can’t have any nutrients so it’s either rain water or distilled. But I think it got some regular water in it and it died. 😢

Thanks! Thank you for watching!
You make me want to go out and plant something! 😂
Lol, Thanks for watching!
I just noticed that I said I didn't want non-edible plants and medicinal. I do want medicinal as well as edible plants. It just came out wrong. 😂
Good morning Lovely Lisa ♥
Good morning Rachael. I hope you have a great weekend.
