I’ve been through 20 videos and this is the info I’ve been looking for. If I were ANYWHERE near you I’d buy you a beer..don’t drink..food. Lol after you said geometry I was sitting here like how the hell did I not think that. Thanks brother. For real
Worked perfect! I had the exact same problem with my new 1/2 door uppers. Super easy fix. Definitely unzip the windows first. Makes it much easier to bend the frame. Thanks for the vid. Daniel in Mississippi.
I wish you were my neighbor! All of your videos are so so so helpful! Just got that rampage top in spice for our '94 YJ and I'm in the middle of trying to mod our bestop supertop hardware to work with it. Considering switching to full soft uppers instead of our soft upper sliders (doors off for the summer) and this is solid info. Thank you!
Thank you for this very helpful video. You keep saving the day for me on my installation projects. My Best Top install on my YJ project jeep was saved by this video for the doors and your other video on the Best Top take down and put up of the YJ top. Many thanks. Carry On Sir.
Thanks, once again, Chuck! About to do this on some new upper frames I got to go with my new soft top. I got the Smittybilt OEM tinted window soft top. 👊🏻
Chuck you have done it again! Thanks for the tips on bending the frame with unzipping the windows. Just installed a replacement soft top and new door skins with new frames and they didn't line up. Now they do. Its was the complete soft top kit from Rampage with tinted windows. Thanks!!
Thank God! Or thank you!!! I just replaced my Rampage door skin uppers. The original ones fit pretty good . But after fighting these new skins on they lapped over the back corner…. I apparently bent the frame putting the skin on.. now I know how to fix the problem
I actually have instructions somewhere that tells you to stand on one end and pull one way or the other to fix the alignment of the upper in the top frame
thanks ... exactly my problem, I will try it ... curious though why the original soft top upper fit perfectly but the Bestop replacement upper is out of alignment same as you showed (frame wasn't changed ... passenger door fit fine).
Sometimes the way they are sewn together can pull the frame a differnt way. A friend of mine has a TJ. We removed the old Bestop upper skins and installed new Bestop upper skins. We still had to flex it a little.
Not much if any. That's the air flow coming around the windshield creates a negative pressure area by the front of the soft windows. That vacuum (negative pressure area) pulls the window outward. You can try bending your frames inward a bit more to try increasing the pressure against the Jeep. But honestly that's just the nature of those windows.
I noticed you have the pvc making tension on your top. Do you prefer this as opposed to adjusting your windshield angle? My top flaps like crazy with the front windows zipped down.
Due to I sometimes in the winter run my hard top I dont mess with the windshield. Besides, some tops just simply require the extra support no matter how tight they fit the jeep. Its a ceap and easy fix. I have a video on my channel where I made that.
I've got a similar issue only my door tops have the sliding glass windows. Any idea what I can do? I wish I could post a photo here to make it more clear. The door top fits in the frame but there is a small gap at the upper rear edge between the door top and frame.
Any chance you know what the measurement would be on a TJ from the windshield to the tailgate? Is it still 75 1/8? I see that they have the same wheelbase but the length of the whole rig is slightly different. I’m guessing that’s just due to differences in bumper though.
I have major floppy top syndrome going on! I have a Bestop Replace-a-top, oh & I failed Geometry...any suggestions to snug it up?! 😁 Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Check the rear spreader bars to make sure they are engaging fully. Also, if needed, you can adjust your windshield forward just a bit. But be careful to make sure you don't known the door seal alignment outta whack with the windshield. I also have a video where I made a support bow out of PVC that helps with the floppy top syndrome.
Thanks bro. Mine are out of alignment and this will help me immensely. I so appreciate it brother. I've been trying to figure it out. God bless and Happy Gobble Day. 😬👍 OH...btw....subbed and belled

This was exactly what i needed. I thougt misaligned uppers were just part of owning a soft-top. Many thanks

There cold be a few different ways of doing it. I'm sure your instructions would work as well.
Is there a difference between soft top uppers and uppers for a hardtop

Great video. Will this help with the windows popping out while driving down the Hwy?

Can you please tell me what surround you are using for your yj. I can’t find them anywhere

how do you find out what the ''rake" dimensions are supposed to be i have a 4 door wrangler jk

The measurement for the windshield is on ether side of the tailgate as the tailgate has tolerances of 1/4”
Have problem with my right side, with soft doors and full doors, left is good, maybe the windshield frame is little be bend at the right top corner…

Thank you so much your a lifesaver
Happy to help
Perfect, its the simple solutions!
Yep, not hard at all
Thank you for your video 🙏

What top do you have with the super top hardware
That is a Rampage Cab Top on a factory YJ soft top frame. Not a bestop frame.
My soft top door frame is stuck. I can not remove it!!! HELP!!!!!!!
Thanks bro. Mine are out of alignment and this will help me immensely. I so appreciate it brother. I've been trying to figure it out. God bless and Happy Gobble Day. 😬👍 OH...btw....subbed and belled
Your welcome! Glad it helped! Thanks for subscribing!! Hope the channel serves you well!
What soft top is that?
Rampage Cab Top
I found that unzipping the window let you bend it easier.
Yes it does.
I suck at math :D but this video is awesome helpful
Thanks
