I do adventskalenders for my five nieces and nephews every year. Just some sweets or little books or toys, wrapped up in napkins (each has their own color) and hung from a hanger. And as I always start too late, I only hang the first few days and then stock up during december again and again. And they love it, the teenagers as much as the little ones. And CONGRATULATIONS!!! Awesome!! I hit 51,036 on the 30th and was thoroughly impressed with myself. I still have to finish my last few chapters, but the bulk of my novel it done. ❣❣❤❤
So, this was my first nano ever. More importantly, my first year of actually believing in this little nudge I keep feeling to write. Just wanted to say that in the beginning I was stressed. Hopeful, but panicked. Your vlog really helped me to be okay wherever I am, and now at the end that has made all the difference. My goal was 25K as this is first time and I have two needy littles, haha. I hit 23,822, but I finished one of my MC's entire POV throughout the whole book. I have NEVER done this before, and I feel so accomplished. Thank you for helping me to feel successful!

Congratulations! You did it! I stopped pushing and try to write on the 23rd. I finished the first draft of 3 short paranormal romances stories this year (I'm getting emotional writing this). The last one I finished at day 11 of Nanowrimo. Started book 4 after that and I'm just not feeling it, so I took some time to think about it and when I'm done thinking I will write it. Sometimes you just have to listen to your intuition. Congrats again!

Congratulations Sarra! I also hit 50k on the 29th. I've still got about 20k in the book to write, estimating another seven chapters, but I've almost tripled my manuscript count that I started the month with which is incredible. And I ordered the Nanowrimo winners t-shirt for the first time. I don't usually, I don't always like the art design, but this is the first time I've won the November Nano with an original project, and I like the art this year so I went for it.
I made my daughter an advent calender last year and again this year. I bought little bags and just used push pins to put them up. She is really into dungeons and dragons so I bought dice to put in each bag. She loved it.
I didn't come close to winning NaNoWriMo this year. The story wasn't ready to be written. I did spend some time working on it almost every day. Brainstorming and research are all part of the writing process. Developing a habbit of writing consistently is more important than writing for a marathon. I’m happy for what I have accomplished.
Congratulations! I did a scavenger hunt for both of my kids when they turned 13. We play Nancy Drew games so I played off of that a lot. The clues were hard to write but it was worth it! It was fun!

Congrats on winning Nano, Sarra! This was good for me to witness as I want to be a succesful and prolific writer so seeing you struggle but persevere and push through was a valuable life lesson for me. It might not get any easier but the victory does feel sweeter. I'm still hoping to win Nano later but even if (or when) I do, I won't get the fancy confetti or free Nano goodies but I would've successfully completed 2 projects in 1 month. Yay me :) Next year November I will still work on 2 projects but I will merge them into 1 Nano project. That way I can do Nano my way while still hitting my Nano goals. This year was a learning curve for sure :)

Yay! 🎉 Just caught up on some of your other vlogs. Always great hitting that 50k for Nano. Perhaps next year I’ll participate again. The last Nanowrimo where I took part and won was back in 2019 with the rough draft of book 1 of my trilogy series. So it’s been a little while. I almost won in 2020 with the rough draft of book 2 of my trilogy, but I was a good 6k short. It’s been a long time since I’ve worked on these projects as they’ve been resting for a moment, but I commend myself for completing the drafts of two books from a series. All I have is one left and I will have at least written my first completed Christian fiction book series.
