Really enjoyed this lesson! It doesn’t feel ‘right’ yet but that’s just an inevitable part of the process of change - so I embrace it as a good thing 🥴. I know from experience that I’m likely not score well on the next round (and I didn’t 🙈) also part of the process of change ✅ . But the playback shows that what we want/need to see is possible so will be working on getting it looking like that on the course - the only way forward is through ✊. Russell is so good to work with, it’s taking a while but I will get this….and it will be amazing 🤩
Your doing brilliant Lynn and people that choose to watch your playlist will understand that we all learn from mistakes and failures but recover upon reflection on where we went wrong. Single figures is within grasp and excited to what the future will bring 💪🏻
You have the best channel for live lessons and putting theory into practice. I would have said squat more - but you zeroed in on the real issue, the left knee, and that helped her actually move her understanding to the issue and goal. And During the pull band drill she looked much more centered in her turn.
Excellent lesson - and what a coachable golfer she is! I have been systematically applying Russell's concepts with good success, after being an over-the top, steep planed swinger for over 10 years. I'm getting to where I want now. I will say that learning to start the downswing by pulling the left hip back as the initial move has been hard for me. One thing I happened upon to help with this was by feeling my chest was covcering the ball, as you demonstrate in this lesson, and also to feel my trail (right) shoulder and head are still staying "down" at impact. By doing this, I seem to be able to see the flight of the ball as it begins it's initial path. I haven't "seen" that in a long time. So the latter portion of this lesson really hits home for me! Russell - you have saved my golf game!
Great video Russell I really enjoy watching your student lessons on how you help all levels of golfer get better at the game, there's still hope for me 🤞lol well done 👍👍
I worked on this exact thing today at the range. Trying to keep the right knee flexed but the leg still(seems to help in not over rotating the hips). Even on the downswing. Keeping that right thigh pointing outwards helps moving the left hip back on the downswing. Now I have to make sure I keep rotating through the swing.
Being a woman myself I really enjoyed this lesson. Just wondering if she’s a little flat footed on her trail foot. I find it easier if I’m on the inside of my foot. Keeps me centered and allows me to push off and get to my lead side on the downswing. Is this correct? Keep doing videos with the ladies! California, USA
Just a thought I might share on starting the downswing from the top and the need to get the left hip back to the touche line or behind it on the downswing and ensuring the right hip does not start to move outward at the start of the downswing.. Key to moving the left hip back in the downswing for me is to lift the rear (right foot) heel as a first move ever so slightly to start the downswing which has an automatic knock on effect of the left hip moving back and even behind the touche line established at address. For me a great thought is to left the rear heel to start the downswing that also ensures I get the weight onto the lead foot at impact for solid strikes. Hope this helps.
From my perspective I believe that the issue of her right leg and hip getting in a better position on the backswing, I would look at her balance, she is obviously swinging off balance. I think her balance issue is her set up. She is just an inch or two reaching for the ball. If she stood up a bit (her clubs look too long as well) that would move her weight into a better position and make it easier to get that right hip under control. Also, a comment was made that "I thought the golf swing was getting away from holding the right knee firm on the backswing" That is misunderstood in my way of thinking. I would agree that more hip rotation is good but not to the point that she is exhibiting. Too much rotation without some resistance throws you off balance on backswing and forward swing.
I thought golf instruction moved away from keeping the right knee flexed and that straightening the right leg for full hip turn was correct. As Alan Partridge would say “it’s quite confusing really”. #bigboypantsgolf
Current Online student here .. this stuff is gold.. would love to see more, maybe throw these live lessons on the member sight.

You are a good student Lynn. Keep up the good work!
Love your hands and arms at impact, stay the course!

Yes though one of your earlier videos, I picked the “over doing” the left leg.
This clears it up a bit more thanks

Nice one.
Great impact position after the preset.
That was deep! Will take some time to develop those hip moves. TY !

Hip and grip are the bane of my swing at the moment.
Thought most modern teachers were allowing that trail leg to straighten.
Very very helpful, this is my exact problem
Top notch stuff.

The right leg will straighten somewhat in order to rotate the pelvis correctly . But it should NOT straighten completely .
@@davecohn6407 I think the new modern swing...it straightens....completely!
Riveting student-teacher rapport.
