Cool mention on the tracers. In Afghanistan some of us would run our entire first mag as tracers for ambushes, that way as soon as an ambush kicks off you've got an entire wall of tracers headed toward the enemy. There's multiple functions to it. 1- It signals the enemy position to your guys, and not just your squad, but your overwatch, your trucks, etc. 2- It can help regain the initiative against the enemy when they visually identify hundreds of rounds coming their way.
Pretty entertaining to see the way “kit” has progressed. When deployed to South West Asia in ‘01 we wore viet nam flak jackets without Steele chest plates (thank god)then in OIFII we had Interceptor Body Armor with SAPI plates, as a leg infantry we found ourselves doing a lot of vehicle born missions, as a gunner in a hmmv it was highly uncomfortable sitting so I turned my front plate upside down and that did the trick. The take away from this comment is to get what you can and use/wear it, think outside the box and make it work for you

There are ways to achieve this very same system expandability and structure with other platforms like the LV119 with aftermarket modification that is still cheaper than the AVS. The obvious caveat being of course, that you need to be willing to put in more time and research into nerding out over little aspects of your carrier that most people in the market just aren't likely willing to do.
Truth. I’m the only one in my immediate circle who takes the time to research what I’m buying before I buy it. …and then my friends call me a gear snob when we show up to the range and our stuff is side by side…😐
NBC sucks, especially nerve agents. Big “rubber” boots and gloves, full suit that are the best of times is like a heavy winter parka. Don’t forget to tape all those seams otherwise you’re dead. Also your gas filter only lasts 20 minutes against some threats so better hope you can get to a safe area, that also has proper decon setup, otherwise you might accidentally expose yourself or others even after you left the “danger zone” and still die. NBC sucks.
I went with Agilite. I love my K-zero. It’s held everything I’ve put on it and is super comfortable. I’m getting a k19 soon, though..just so I can set up a heavier carrier that can handle more weight. The quality is top notch.
Yeah literally the worst choice buckles right where you need to shoulder the stock, made overseas, overpriced, terrible cummerbund design, way too much padding and retains heat worse than any of the other major company's plate carriers
@@IM2BASED4THISPLACEI have the latest k19, I removed the shoulder buckles completely. And its very comfortble. I suggest don't talk about products you know nothing about if you haven't tried it.
Going to the gym and doing some cardio is a good way to get use to wearing new kit. It has helped me figure out where hot spots are coming from and prevent them from happening.
I don't know if the focus on rifle plates is even warranted for a ww3 scenario. If you are special forces or in urban combat, directly engaging enemies with rifles, it might be. But on an actual near peer battlefield your biggest friend are probably a shovel and a flak jacked with a good rating against high velocity shrapnel. Artillery kills far more on large scale battlefields than rifles do. In the trenches, light and high coverage soft armor might be better. And for recon, a light chest rig without armor.
If I was still in I’d have two set ups, but now that I’m out I feel having a pc that is slick and a chest rig is the way to go. I still have all my gear it may be a “heavy” set up but it’s all there and if I need to go “Reece” I can use the cest rig. And if I need armor but wana be a little slick, I can throw a cell on the front and go. I think it would also be smart to have an overt as well as a covert type set up. As a civilian now you never know what will happen in your town as we have seen.
Sadly, the AVS is absurdly overpriced here in Europe - around $900 for the harness and plate pouch set alone. I'm still searching for a more local equivalent with similar capabilities. Judging by all that comes from Ukraine, nothing is just a quick in and out action, where something like JPC 2.0 would be ideal.
Any opinions on the double mag carrier on the front of the body? I see plenty of people run the double stack but I've also been told by people I trust that you want to be able to get into a prone easily. Having only 1 stack of mags on the front helps you get to the ground.
Not sure if you've done a video on this topic before or not, but do you think it would be possible to make one over duty belts? Great video! Thanks for the helpful info
Do you guys have plans for hosting classes after JTAC closes? It kills me that I didn't know about that range, you guys, or your classes until recently, would have loved to take some classes with y'all.
I'm no expert, just former LEO but allow me my 2 cents. What is coming at us REAL soon, I try to push folks to get a gas mask and practice with it. Not just shooting but mobility exercises with them on. If you have a beard, you need a different gas mask than those without. Steel plates are like 14lb. Ceramic are around 4 but are not reusable. I also recommend if you do have a new plate carrier, wear it around the house while doing chores. They are super stiff when new. Better to break in now than when you need it. One last thing, get a set of thin armor that can be hidden under a coat or jacket. Grey man will more important than G.I. Joe.
There "no good" for Instagram and TH-cam or Facebook, I would rather have them in the real world than nothing and if you work out in them, oh hell yeah you will be like a fuckin pack mule by the time shit jumps off.
Simple, something that fits, works, is comfortable, durable and can take the riggers of constant war. That is all you need for a plate carrier that works. It's all relative.

Steele is just so heavy compared to ceramic, even hybrid. Only advantage to Steele is it can take more hits - but if your taking that many hits your doing something wrong😅.

"Mission set" 😂 How many missions are people going on? Let alone, how many different types of missions are they going on? These videos are getting ridiculous.
Defense of a home/area is different than patrol, vehicle ride, reconnaissance outing, etc. Some carriers are meant to be loaded lighter and more minimalist to allow better mobility and drain less energy while others allow more weight to be carried to allow for more sustainability items or more armor.
What kind of mission would you call it if a couple thousand of the 7million “asylum seekers” that have entered the US in the last 3 years decide to meet up and pull a “Hamas in Isreal” part 2 at your house?
I mean just look at the video title. If WW3 happens and you have the option to bring your own gear, as seen in Ukraine, then having the right stuff could be important. It's all about the second amendment, but thats probably ridiculous to you.

We used them for combined arms. It helps when you can signal the Cobras where your want them to hit with tracers.
We also used them for escalation of force. Warning shots with tracers are generally more effective.
