I actually really appreciated the fact that Anne Hathaway took the time to not only apologize for her behavior but to explain what she was going through at the time. I also really appreciated that the journalist kept that part a secret. I think we all tend to forget that even celebrities are human and have to deal with pain and suffering just like the rest of us. The only real difference is that they have to deal with those moments publicly sometimes and that must be really difficult. Well, that and the fact that they can go buy a mansion when they're upset if they want 🤷♀

I dont know who came first in all the awkward interview niche but it is quite funny when you put them together like the interview you featured of them both. I'd recommend checking out Marco too tho. Hes pretty funny.

Akward movie scene that instantly comes to mind is Ben Stiller in Mystery Men. He is attempting to hit on a cashier & has previously been beat up. He has toilet paper shoved up his snoz (trying to appear suave) & nose laughs. The toilet paper flies out of his nose & onto her countertop. Supes akward, but sooooo funny & relateable.
Genuine awkward is one thing. Trying to be awkward and unfunny isn’t something I’d waste my time watching. I prefer and love funny, genuine content. It’s another step away from connecting as humans in a world that is increasingly lonely.
If I could get away with it, every conversation I had with someone, I'd be as chill and unexpressive as Althoff. It takes SO much energy to be as peppy and smiley as everyone expects you to be. I'm naturally a very stoic person, so social events are extremely draining for me. If I'm comfortable around you, you'll know it because I suddenly become very boring. LOL
I just had a traumatic emergency c-section, been having complications after birth, financial issues from having to stop working, etc., and seeing that you uploaded almost made me cry from happiness, as stupid as that sounds. 😅😂 Just needed something positive to look forward to. Like between two ferns, A Sunday interview is made to be very awkward and funny and the bloopers just make it 100% perfect because you can tell that the celebrities are struggling to not laugh through the whole thing.

As an awkward weirdo, my issue with these interviews is that they’re usually conventionally attractive extroverts cosplaying my daily pain. Between Two Ferns is the only awkward interview show I want shoved in my face.

Amelia is hilarious and it is 100% a bit. She is not being herself. I watched a short video where she was explaining how she came up with the idea and how it took off. She's actually herself with them before the interview but once the camera is rolling she is in character.
I'm glad that people are making neurodivergency normalized. It helps me, its healing, I guess since it was something I grew up being shamed for for so long, its just hard to watch still. Maybe that will change, but its still hard to watch FOR ME, and for a lot of millenials I imagine. I am really glad its happening, I just still cant watch it. Jaime I'm guessing feels the same way. People like us would never put ourselves in that role of an interviewer as a neurodivergent is all. But I'm glad others are and are making it way more normalized, its just still really hard to watch for us. Edit: ok around 18:00 she talks about the interviewers not doing research on who they are interviewing... and that DOES make me a bit upset and that's hard to watch. Its the job to try and find out about them and what to ask them, not to just be who you are and ask them what you want to ask, in my opinion. I dont know that second interviewer, probably because I dont really have social media outside of youtube, but thats by far the worst. The chicken shop date isnt so bad at all.
Ahh, you young-uns. I'm going to sound like the Gen X oldie I am, but these sorts of interviews have been around for decades, at least in Australia and the UK. Ali G was a good example, as was an Australian comedian known as Norman Gunston. And Magda Szubanski (who played the farmer's wife in Babe) once had a character called Pixie Ann Wheatley who was also known for these types of interviews. I've never been a fan though as the awkwardness is way too much for me.

As an awkward weirdo, my issue with these interviews is that they’re usually conventionally attractive extroverts cosplaying my daily pain. Between Two Ferns is the only awkward interview show I want shoved in my face.
I've had similar experiences when doing stand up, the breath in between jokes is good but sometimes I get on a roll and I just wanna go till they bust their guts lol its a balancing act for sure

Amelia is hilarious and it is 100% a bit. She is not being herself. I watched a short video where she was explaining how she came up with the idea and how it took off. She's actually herself with them before the interview but once the camera is rolling she is in character.

I'm glad that people are making neurodivergency normalized. It helps me, its healing, I guess since it was something I grew up being shamed for for so long, its just hard to watch still. Maybe that will change, but its still hard to watch FOR ME, and for a lot of millenials I imagine. I am really glad its happening, I just still cant watch it. Jaime I'm guessing feels the same way. People like us would never put ourselves in that role of an interviewer as a neurodivergent is all. But I'm glad others are and are making it way more normalized, its just still really hard to watch for us.
Edit: ok around 18:00 she talks about the interviewers not doing research on who they are interviewing... and that DOES make me a bit upset and that's hard to watch. Its the job to try and find out about them and what to ask them, not to just be who you are and ask them what you want to ask, in my opinion. I dont know that second interviewer, probably because I dont really have social media outside of youtube, but thats by far the worst. The chicken shop date isnt so bad at all.
I feel the same way about prank shows like Impractical Jokers. It's physically painful for me to watch.

I'm going to sound like the Gen X oldie I am, but these sorts of interviews have been around for decades, at least in Australia and the UK. Ali G was a good example, as was an Australian comedian known as Norman Gunston. And Magda Szubanski (who played the farmer's wife in Babe) once had a character called Pixie Ann Wheatley who was also known for these types of interviews. I've never been a fan though as the awkwardness is way too much for me.
