A Day in the Life of a Tibetan Nomad Family; How do Tibetan Wife and Husband Divide Their House Work

  • Hidden between snow mountains, there is a tent house of a nomadic family in the valley.
    It was a day that I spent with the family, showing you how Tibetan nomads keep their traditional life when the world is modernizing all around them. www.tibettrave...
    The day started with a simple breakfast. The handmade yak butter tea provides them with their daily energy needs.
    After breakfast, the male nomad went out to graze yaks. The job seemed easy, but it was a long and boring time in the empty valley.
    How did the man kill time during the long hours of grazing?
    He carried snuff with him so he could relax during breaks. Sometimes, he played a solo game, such as throwing a stone. Just like a kid in the valley, he amused himself by finding natural toys from nature.
    On the other side, the yaks were leisurely enjoying a fresh grass banquet.
    The yak is very important to Tibetan nomads, not only does it provide them with milk to make their daily butter tea and yak cheese, but it is also the source of income. The yak’s fur is also the raw material for their tent house.
    While the male nomad and yaks were away from home, the female nomad worked hard at home as well, like collecting yak dung for fuel, drying nettles as winter food for yaks and horses, looking after the elder and kids at home, and making lunches and dinners for the family.
    This is a chance to see how the different roles that the male and the female nomads play in their family life, and see how modern Tibetan nomads still maintain the lifestyle of their ancestors after hundreds of years, living in harmony with nature in the land.

      I am planning to collect money and live a peaceful life like this. Only not as a nomad, since I am planning to live in Europe and there is no place for nomad life, unfortunately. Do you still live like this or you had once?
      Anyway in the cities now with this normal flu (which they make so deadly) with masks on our faces and strict regulations you have the feeling you are the yak here not a human:)

    The nomadics of Tibet may have their unique problems and difficulties as we all do have whether we are urban or rural but they still, they appear quiet happy and contended despite the odds they have to face thereby disseminating a message for all of us that we should lead a peaceful and contended life with whatever God has blessed with. Lastly, they are leading a natural life in the lap of Nature. God bless them all.

      I watched one man living a very humble life with his wife in a isolated mountain.He has goats, garden and naturally made pools for fish (Trout). He also collect variant kinds of herbs and makes remedies.
      He sad once he had to sleep in a city and that he could not fall asleep the whole night. He says now that he would never ever try to sleep in a city for anything. What he also believes is that the world would be a happier place if each of our neighbour were at least 5 km away from our homestead.

    There is so much goodwill toward the Tibetan people for all they have suffered.

    • @nonyabizness997
      @nonyabizness997 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What have they suffered from? If you meant perpetual hereditary serfdom of 95% of the Tibetan population owned by and subject to absolute power of the top 5% landowning nobility caste (consisted of 3 extended families/clans) and the Lama priest caste, you are absolutely right! What these people and their ancestors had been through before 1959 the toppling of the nobility and Lama castes were utter injustice and disgrace to all humanity!!!

    • @Bzdm0
      @Bzdm0 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nonyabizness997 It means cultural damage that you colonizers have brought. What material evidence do you have that it was 98% serf except CCP propoganda? You people bring that up because you are feed that to few like savior, similar to the White man’s burden. People like you populate Tibet and live it for years and don’t even bother to learn local language and instead expect the local people to speak your language. Your government strategically limits and monitors important Tibetan festivals and pilgrim sites with heavy artillery armed individuals. Tibetan fare to speak of the oppression suddenly go missing and some that do appear later at either in hospital or eventually die. Even asking for school in your mother tongue as case of Tashi Wangchuk through legal court system is considered separatism. People like you try to say how Tibetan have better life’s than Han by pointing out things like extra points on Gaokao which I guess you people forget is in Chinese, a second language for Tibetans. Also, if you are thinking of refuting the right to learn Tibetan through Bilingual education in Tibet, know that there may be Tibetan medium kindergarten and preschool in Tibet but most of the middle school and high school are mainly Chinese medium. There is separate Tibetan class but they isn’t going to help much since everything else in Chinese.

      All of these people's skin is red because they have permanent skin damage from sun, wind, frostbite!. It may look shiny but that's from the harsh treatment the elements do to it. There is no time for any routine. Please watch the video of the woman who has 3 husbands on this channel. That is what was not covered in this one. They all look older than they are, too.

    Many comment what an idyllic life...is it not apparent that the woman is doing all the manual labor? He looks after his Yaks, but yet she is the one who in addition to everything else, has then to milk them all - while he is out playing with his rocks.....other documentaries here on youtube show anything other than an idyllic life - so many live in the remotest villages.
