Thanks Eric, I remember looking for a review on the Ascend D10, and didn't find a lot, so I was hoping to help fill that gap! Thanks for the Kudos, I appreciate ya man.
Clark Stuart i personally wouldnt take it on rivers with any sizable rapids. Class 1 or 2 maybe but it will take on water really easily. I would go with something a bit dfferent. Good luck
I've had one of these for 6 years, and I love it. I just took mine 22 miles down the current river in Missouri (class I, and II) carrying about 70 lbs of gear, and it handled great. The river was 2.3 feet above gage, so it was moving pretty fast. I wouldn't recommend taking it in whitewater, but it should be fine in class I and II.
Is there a sit inside under $750 you would recommend for a 6', 280lb, for day trips fishing (trolling and spot fishing) on the upper Mississippi north of the twin cities and lakes?
Well I personally use the Ascend H12, but it's not your standard "sit-in", however it has a lot of front room to land those fish, take a live well etc. As far as a standardish sit-in, I'm not sure my friend. Although people use sit-ins to fish with, I just don't see it having much room to land the big ones, etc, and seems to me it would be difficult at best. For fishing, and where I am in my limited knowledge, I would either say sit on tops or hybrids like the H12 or the like. Take it easy.
Spiro Mirkopoulos unfortunately you cant with any stability. There is one place to lock in the chair. You can set the chair anywhere in there you like and sit in it but without being locked in, it will rock side to side and scoot around on you.
I also lost the male end clip that holds down the cargo cover at your 7min mark of video, I chatted with the makers and I have to buy the whole cover if I want just the 1 clip. I cant find one that fits.
Oh wow, that's crazy. Sounds like a rigged fashion of bungee cord is in order :) You can even get a small grommet kit from walmart and grommet that cover and use the really small bungees and may have an even more flexible cover to use! That's the cool think about kayaks, they are soooo easy to modify or fix if the need arises!
Hey Lisa, if you mean it is wearing down closer to the bottom of the boat, consider putting something as a small rise under the contact points between your chair and floor of the kayak. This will keep some of the pressure off of the T slot and may help prolong the life. :) Some folks wrap a pool noodle float around the bottom tube of the seat and that causes it to sit a little higher! Give it a try, it may work out! :)
Very helpful to have your images of the kayak bottom. Thanks.
great video. very informative. Thanks for being so in depth about it all!
Glad it was helpful!
Been thinking of purchasing. Thanks for showing everything..very detailed.
Glad it was helpful!
I have this kayak and love it. I fish and kayak camp regularly in it. You can fit a ton of stuff in it.
Steve Krewson yep your right! it's a load up and go type of yak!
How’s the seat for 4-5 hour trips? My current kayak kills me 2-3 hours in.
@@whatfreedom7 it's great
How is the chair in the kayak? Is it sturdy for thee “fluffier” people?
Wow! Very detailed review. Nice.

How would this do on class 1-2 rivers? How is tracking handling and speed compared to other rec boats

How heavy is it?
I believe it was between 40-50lbs, but I can't remember.
How deep does this actually ride with you in it? 4",5",6",7+?
Can you slide the seat back into the cargo area at all to give yourself more room?

My "T" slot for my chair is slowly wearing down. I am afraid that my it will not hold my seat anymore.

It's more the cross hole at the top of the T, I guess i have to put my seat in more gently.
Oh ok I see. They are built pretty tough! Good luck Lisa!
